Chapter 116: Chapter 116: The Bluewater Finale

Chapter 116: The Bluewater Finale

Mage Merlin put his mask back on. If not for the circumstances, he would have preferred never to remove it.

Among the Hunter's Guild, it was an unspoken rule to never reveal one's true face. Exposing one's identity to other hunters was an enormous risk.

Mage Merlin spoke: "That magical herb was also a product of the Hunter's Guild. Its primary purpose was to grant you the ability to subdue Welma. But now, Welma is likely beyond saving, and Jonathan is dead. Clumsy disciple, you're no longer of much use."

For a moment, Willard froze, then his entire body began trembling violently. Pain sapped all his strength, and he collapsed to the ground. He strained to open his single remaining eye, trying to see the person before him more clearly.

"Invincibility… invincibility is a lie."

Willard's voice trembled as he struggled to stand, only to collapse again, slowly shuffling backward on the ground: "It's all fake. Mt. Everest is fake, the magical herb is fake, even magic core formation is fake."

Willard, like a madman, glanced around with his one hollow eye, searching for something he could not find. Mage Merlin sighed softly, walked over to Lady Hound, and bowed respectfully: "My lady, Willard has failed to ascend. It will be easier for you to finish him now."

Lady Hound nodded indifferently, then vanished from sight. In the next instant, she appeared before Willard and raised her long leg, stomping down hard.

Willard didn't even have the strength to resist. Her blow shattered his heart. The Blue Silver Grass emerged from Willard's corpse, floating into Lady Hound's grasp.

Lady Hound glanced at the surrounding hunters and said: "Disperse. The constables will be here soon."

With that, she disappeared before their eyes. The hunters bowed respectfully in the direction she had vanished, then scattered in all directions.

Jack approached the three fallen hunters and removed their masks. Turning to Mage Merlin, he asked: "You're still here?"

Mage Merlin sighed wistfully: "My disciple is dead. I thought I'd offer him some final rites."

Jack sneered: "You're the one who killed him."

Had Mage Merlin not broken Willard's Dao heart, Willard would have succeeded in reaching the fifth tier of spiritual power. A fifth-tier S-rank was a terrifying force that only those who had encountered it could truly understand.

With the fifth tier, Willard could have unleashed his fifth soul skill, the Blue Silver Overlord Spear. At that point, Willard might not have died, and it was the hunters who would likely have perished.

Mage Merlin chuckled lightly: "It's just a minor tribulation, nothing more."

In the wilderness.

The earth bore deep scars, and several massive banyan trees lay toppled along the roadside. A massive blue figure plummeted from the sky, crashing heavily into a crater.

Welma's monstrous form was now riddled with countless cracks. The White Flame Giant clasped its hands and descended from the night sky like a meteor.

"Boom!"

Welma screamed as her serpent form disintegrated, scattering into a field of blue snowflakes. The snowflakes floated upward, defying gravity, and ascended toward the heavens.

The flames around Alexander dissipated as he released the White Flame Giant form. His face, however, was pale.

Welma was indeed formidable. If Alexander's innate ability were merely A-rank, he would have stood no chance against her. Never before had the desire to grow stronger burned so fiercely within him.

Alexander walked to the edge of the crater and looked down at Welma. Her disheveled clothing and snow-white hair stood in stark contrast to her once-ebony locks. Her hollow, lifeless eyes stared blankly at the moon in the sky.

She was in a terrible state. The battle just now had cost her 30 years of her lifespan.

In the distance, police sirens wailed. A patrol car approached, coming to a stop.

A burly man with one arm stepped out of the vehicle and walked toward Alexander. It was Ethan Blake.

Ethan Blake glanced at the crater and the broken Welma within it, his expression flickering with complex emotions. He looked deeply at Alexander and asked: "Was all of this… your doing?"

Alexander nodded:

"Welma killed Miss Divine, the Divine family's young master, and six members of the Moon God Chamber of Commerce's management.

Oh, and she killed Jonathan too. Take her to the Security Bureau. The Liu family might even reward you by making you deputy chief as thanks."

After saying this, Alexander vanished, disappearing into thin air like a phantom.

Ethan Blake, accustomed to Alexander's mysterious ways, wasn't surprised. He climbed into the crater, hoisted the limp Welma onto his shoulder, and walked toward the patrol car.

The driver, Sarah, saw the woman on Ethan Blake's shoulder and gasped, covering her mouth in shock:

"Chief Welma?!"

Alexander's Courtyard.

Six Soulhunter apprentices waited silently outside the small gate. They had followed Alexander's orders to deliver the bodies of the Moon Worship Cult members to the courtyard.

However, someone inside refused to let them enter and had unleashed a massive feline to watch over them.

If not for its feline growl, they might have mistaken it for some tiger-like magical beast.

The Soulhunters, still relatively new to Alexander's service, didn't yet understand what the Hunter's Guild truly was. Even though they'd gained newfound strength, they dared not act recklessly.

They had been waiting for quite some time when a black luxury van, headlights on, approached slowly from the distance.

The person in the vehicle stepped out—it was Lady Hound.

Lady Hound removed her mask, revealing a seductive face. She was none other than Yvette.

Yvette glanced at the Soulhunters and said: "Go back and prepare. The master will need rest soon."

To Yvette, everything Alexander did was of utmost importance, including sleeping.

Aside from Sandman, who handled security, the other maids had to remain on standby at all times. If the master got hungry or thirsty, someone had to be available.

She was, without a doubt, a meticulous housekeeper.

The Soulhunters bowed respectfully to Yvette before heading toward the courtyard pavilion.

Yvette opened the passenger door of the van: "Sir, we've arrived."

Moments earlier, Yvette had gone to the wilderness to find Alexander and brought him, cloaked in invisibility, back to the vehicle.

Alexander nodded, stepped out of the van, and knocked on the courtyard gate: "It's me."

The old beggar Beast King rushed over and opened the gate: "President!"

Alexander glanced back. Yvette had already returned to the luxury van. She knew better than to pry into matters that didn't concern her.

Alexander pointed to a nearby van and said softly: "Bring the items inside."

The old beggar clasped his hands in acknowledgment and walked toward the van left behind by the Soulhunters.

He opened the trunk.

It was filled with bodies.

The old beggar, a former assassin, was unfazed by corpses—he'd even been known to sleep with one as a pillow.

As he moved the bodies, his eyes suddenly widened.

"This… Mr. Max?"

He quickly inspected another corpse.

"Mr. Zach!"

The old beggar examined all the bodies, his throat tightening, his face filled with shock.

These were all elders of the Moon Worship Cult!

Once, the old beggar himself had been a Moon Worship Cult elder, but after offending too many people, he was forced to flee the North Sea.

He held no camaraderie with these individuals—some of them had even tried to kill him.

But he was stunned nonetheless.

Why were these particular corpses in the van?

"Could it be that the Moon Worship Cult came to Bluewater City? Did the president deal with them for me?"

Though the thought crossed his mind, the old beggar didn't stop working. He hoisted the bodies and carried them into the courtyard.
