Goblin King: My Innate Skill Is OP

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Rebirth

I woke up, and the first thing I saw was a battlefield stretching out before me.

A massive cliff hung beneath the chaos, the land dropping away in jagged rocks.

The air was thick with dust, the sounds of clashing weapons, snarls, and roars echoing in my ears.

Goblins—my kin, I guess—were fighting against massive orange monstrosities.

They looked like hobgoblins, but bigger, scarier, and way more dangerous.

These guys were built like tanks, their huge muscles rippling under their thick hides.

Lucky for me, though, I was far enough away from the action.

I didn't know how I ended up here, but I could see goblin bodies scattered around the ground.

Some were still twitching, but most were already dead.

The stench of blood and sweat filled the air.

I sighed.

This was my new life? Fighting ugly giants on a cliffside?

Seriously, Gandalf?

I bet he was pissed because I joked about his voice, saying I'd rather have Optimus Prime.

But whatever, Gandalf. I'm not taking that back.

I dragged myself to my feet, my body feeling weird.

I looked at my hands and saw they were small, olive green, the kind of hands you'd expect from a goblin.

Short fingers, rough skin, nothing like the human hands I used to have.

I touched my face.

The bone structure felt different, too.

It wasn't the face of a person anymore.

Yep, I'm a goblin alright.

But I don't care.

I was alive.

And that was all that mattered right now.

I looked down at my covering, could I call this patchwork of a mess clothing? Not really.

For some reason, I thought to check if I had my privates so I grabbed the helm and looked down.

Regret.

Why the hell did I do that? I shouldn't have done that.

I checked again, hoping for some kind of miracle.

Nope.

More regret.

Great. This is fantastic.

Something then caught my eye.

It was glowing message appeared in my view, hovering right in front of me.

[System activated]

I blinked, confused for a second.

System?

Then the next part appeared:

[Daily Quest To Become Stronger Now Available]

My eyes widened.

I couldn't help the grin spreading across my face.

Now we were talking.

Of course, I'd get a system.

I got isekaid after all.

Without wasting any more time, I eagerly opened the Daily Quest, ready to see what I had to do to get stronger.

[Daily Quest:]

[Sprint for 3 kilometers without stopping]

[Scale a steep hill or a tall tree]

[Carry heavy 25-40kg rocks or logs while walking for 3 kilometers]

[Evade 20 thrown projectiles from fellow goblins or traps]

[Warning: Incompletion of task will lead to punishment]

I frowned.

The quest sounded like so much work.

The punishment part reminded me of school and homework assignments—except this time, skipping out might actually hurt me.

I sighed and noticed a small icon blinking in the corner of my view.

Curious, I tapped it. A new window popped up, and my eyes skimmed over the words.

[Stat Window]

My eyes immediately locked onto the Innate Skill: Phase Walker (SSS).

Three S's? That screamed overpowered.

It had to be a skill like that could probably make me unstoppable.

But forget about the skill for a second.

But then, my gaze shifted to my stamina.

Stamine: 1

Why

Seriously, Gandalf?

it wasn't enough to shave my tree into a shrub. Now you're cockblocking.

Be cool Gandalf.

I groaned, shaking my head.

Alright, back to business.

Phase Walker.

An SSS-rank innate skill.

This was practically god-tier leagues, above my actual pitiful rank.

The gap was quite comical, like handing a toddler a flamethrower.

He's gonna cause a lot of damage with that flamethrower alright.

Or burn himself to a crisp.

Yeah, that's a bad comparison.

Still, I grinned.

This is it.

This was my golden finger.

My cheat code.

The one thing that could tip the scales in my favor.

If life had dropped me to the bottom of the food chain, this skill was my way back up.

Wasting no time, I mentally clicked on the skill to see what it could do.

Let's see how broken this thing really is.

[Phase Walker Rank SSS: Bend space itself to your will, making no location safe for your enemies.

Warp: Instantly teleport yourself, allies, enemies, or objects as far as your eyes can reach or a marked location.

Swap: Switch places with another target, be it an ally, enemy, object, or magical attack mid-flight.

Leap: Teleport to any pre-marked location, no matter how far away.

I froze as soon as I read the description of my skill.

Speechless. Befuddled. Bamboozled.

Every word you could think of that screamed "shock" was what my small body was feeling.

My innate skill was downright OP.

After a moment of stunned silence, my face split into a wide grin. Excitement and joy surged through me like a tidal wave.

This was it.

This was the moment that made all the bad stuff—getting turned into a goblin, the poor stamina, the whole "shrub" situation—worth it.

The skill was amazing, ridiculously powerful, and full of possibilities.

And my geeky, fantasy-loving self couldn't wait to test it out.

I turned my attention to the battlefield, inching closer to the action. It was absolute chaos.

My green brothers, the goblins, were fighting a losing battle. They were trying—and failing miserably—to shove the hobgoblins off the cliff. That was clearly the strategy, but they weren't strong enough to push them back.

The hobgoblins? They were huge, muscular, and brutal. It was like watching toddlers try to wrestle bodybuilders.

The ground was littered with the corpses of goblins, their lifeless bodies scattered everywhere. Not a single hobgoblin was down.

Like I said: mobs.

But that was about to change.
