Global Lords: Hundredfold Increments Starting With the Undead

Chapter 698, Trouble-maker

The colossal ship.

In this era, ships were actually not considered large.

At least, to modern people who have seen various massive ships and aircraft carriers through television and games,

it was still significant enough for Bai Xuan to mention "colossal ship" with a solemn expression.

The first impression it gave was that it was even bigger than an aircraft carrier.

"Why are we still guessing?" Fang Hao continued to ask.

Bai Xuan picked up her cup, took a sip, and then continued to explain, "The treasure map's target is underwater. We've arranged for people to search underwater at different locations around the area. Based on various clues, we've deduced that it might be a gigantic ship."

After saying that, she pulled out several photographs from the Book of Lords.

And handed them to Fang Hao for inspection.

With her explanation, they vaguely resembled parts of a ship's hull.

But it's hard to say for sure—it might just be an underwater mountain that resembles a ship's shape.

If it really were a ship, it was enormously large indeed.

"Is there some sort of monster, why are the pictures so blurry?"

"The Fishmen Tribe—there's a large settlement of them over there, we can't get close at all. We can only choose some remote locations to take photos and analyze them back here," Bai Xuan flipped through the photos.

It was a picture of a dead fishman lying on the deck.

It looked basically the same as the fishman Fang Hao saw last time.

Except the fishmen from the sea had more brightly colored scales.

Their appearances were equally ferocious.

Fang Hao looked at the picture without responding immediately.

A treasure map without accurate information might lead to high-grade treasures or just ordinary equipment.

Just on this point alone, Bai Xuan didn't seem like a qualified partner for him.

The potential benefit was vague, but the cost was clear.

Dealing with the Human Clan, Sea Tribe, or Fishmen Tribe—none of those were easy tasks.

Seeing that Fang Hao didn't speak,

Bai Xuan continued, "If the boss is willing to join, I promise that you can have priority in choosing the rewards. Even if the final reward isn't satisfactory, we can offer some compensation."

It seemed that Bai Xuan was quite persistent.

"Even if it really is that colossal ship, salvaging it must be very difficult too, right? With such vague and uncertain rewards, why are you still adamant about wasting financial and man-power?" Fang Hao looked at her.

One must stop losses promptly when gains are hard to achieve.

It made no sense to keep investing more into it.

"Boss Fang Hao, let me put it this way—if we give up now or let the Human Clan get this reward, we might not even be able to go to sea later on. Our Alliance relies on the sea for its livelihood. Can I back out now? If I do, I'd cut off our Alliance's retreat," Bai Xuan said helplessly.

Fang Hao nodded and also took a sip from his water cup.

The Alliance was already weaker at sea than others.

Giving up this reward would mean they would have no strength to compete with the opponents.

Moreover, the Human Clan had the Sea Tribe as a backrest, and Bai Xuan's side was the Federation.

The Federation was good on land but not at sea.

So, Bai Xuan didn't dare to risk it, fearing that if they stopped contending, the opponents might really pull something valuable out of there.

"Captain Bai Xuan, I can't decide on this matter just yet; I need to go back and discuss it," Fang Hao said tactfully.

"Of course, you can do so, but I hope that no matter whether you agree or not, you'll give me an answer so that I can make further arrangements," Bai Xuan spoke.

Fang Hao nodded, indicating that he could do so.

"Boss, we've met a few times, and you've helped me out several times, so adding each other as friends isn't too much, right? I always feel a bit embarrassed to have to reach out to Ma Tianyi all the time," Bai Xuan put aside her serious face and smiled instead.

Suddenly, her expression became sunny and cheerful.

"Uh, of course not—it's exactly what I was planning on, to add Captain Bai Xuan."

The two added each other as friends and then parted ways.

Bai Xuan had other matters to busy herself with, and Fang Hao didn't want to linger here either.

He left the tavern.

"What do you think about this matter? Should we get involved?" Fang Hao casually asked as he walked.

Demitrija fell silent for a moment, then replied, "Their information is basically nil. Helping them requires caution."

Bai Xuan's group didn't even understand what the reward was or what the next plan was.

Now, their mindset was just not to let the opponents get it if they couldn't.

This was hardly a good foundation for a battle.

"Yeah, that is true indeed," Fang Hao nodded.

He quickly walked toward the teleportation screen.

...

The next day.

In front of the Gate of Blood Prison.

Fang Hao once again signed a Slave Contract with the three-headed dragon.

Now that the precedent was set with the first dragon's compromise, the subsequent contracts were much smoother.

Not much persuasion was needed—they signed right away.

Even the slightly resistant ones capitulated after a scare.

The progress was indeed very smooth.

Now, in the main city, there were a total of ten tier-ten colossal dragons.

"Have these dragons shown any abnormal behavior?"

After the contract was completed, Fang Hao turned to 'Spencer'.

"No, my lord!" Spencer said with his hands behind his back: "Now each colossal dragon leads ten Bone Dragons to patrol the skies of the territory in turns. If any dragon tries to fly out of range, they're immediately attacked by the Bone Dragons and killed on the spot."

"When can these contracted dragons advance to heroes?" Fang Hao inquired.

Spencer thought for a moment, "My lord, it's much harder for dragons to advance to heroes compared to ordinary races. Most dragons are often unable to become heroes in their lifetimes. So, I'm considering first restoring their bodies to a healthy state before attempting advancement."

That made sense, and besides, these dragons had generally low Loyalty.

In the 30 to 40 loyalty improvement area, this was a good time to increase loyalty.

"Um, the loyalty of these dragons has always been not very high. Is there any way to increase it?"

Spencer said, "My lord, these dragons are currently only living in simple tents. We could build some suitable caves for them."

Before becoming heroes, dragons couldn't transform into human form.

They couldn't use the houses built for them.

"Alright, I'll remember this and arrange it when the time comes."

Spencer nodded, "Then I'll take these few dragons to assign them patrol duties."

"Um, go ahead!"

...

Returning to the Lord's Mansion.

Fang Hao went directly to the third floor and gently knocked twice on a door.

Soon, Leng Qing's voice came from inside, "Come in."

Pushing the door open.

He saw Rolana, in her nightgown, lying in the coffin in the middle of the room.

She wasn't sleeping but was seriously reading a comic.

"Aren't you resting?" Fang Hao asked with a smile.

Rolana scooted over a bit.

Fang Hao looked but still refused the invitation.

Although he wasn't afraid, he still felt some reluctance to lie in a coffin.

Reaching out, he pulled her out of the coffin and lay down with her on the bed.

Rolana smoothed her hair and rested her head on his chest, her gaze still fixed on the comic in her hands.

Fang Hao wrapped his arms around Rolana, gently stroking her smooth jade back.

"The recruited dragons need nests. Where do you think is a good place to build them?" Fang Hao pinched around the front as his hands found their way to her back.

"Just do what you think is best!"

"The Bloody Mountains are a natural range that would provide ample space for carving out caves for them to live in, but the distance is a bit far," Fang Hao pondered aloud, gradually increasing the strength in his hand.

"Um!" Rolana remained indifferent.

She didn't care about the matters of the main city.

Either reading novels and teasing birds or acting as the overseer at the amusement park construction site.

Just like in Blood Castle.

Unless the enemy was at the gates, she wanted nothing to do with any affairs.

Seeing that she still had no reaction, Fang Hao continued, "I heard they're building a fake mountain at the amusement park. How about using that as a dragon nest? It's also close to the main city."

Rolana's page-turning halted abruptly.

She turned to frown and stare at him coldly, "No."

"Don't be so stingy! It's part of the landscape anyway. Digging a few caves won't hurt," Fang Hao said with a smile plastered on his face.

"No, there's a purpose for that in the design. The amusement park is a place for fun, not suitable for rest."

Rolana shifted to the side, revealing two crossed, perfectly straight legs beneath the hem of her dress.

A special purpose?

But upon reconsideration, Rolana was right.

Building cave nests for the Dragon Clan needed to ensure they could rest.

Indeed, an amusement park didn't seem fitting for rest.

"Then I'll think of another solution."

Whoo!

Suddenly, the Book of Lords prompted a message.

This sound wasn't a private chat but instead, someone had sent a message to the Sound-transmitting Shell in the storage space.

Fang Hao casually took it out, didn't bother to look, and placed it to his ear.

Rebecca's voice came through, "Fang Hao, what are you doing?"

Both of them paused their movements.

But they quickly realized it was the Sound-transmitting Shell.

"Speak," Rolana said.

Fang Hao looked at her, hesitated, fearing that the person on the other end would say something like "when are you coming over, I miss you," which would be hard to explain.

Seeing Rolana's urging gaze, Fang Hao replied, "Yes, what's up?"

The other side said, "You haven't been over for a while. Come this afternoon. There's something to discuss at the Federal Conference. We'll talk then."

Fang Hao's heart eased. That was manageable.

Without hesitation, he quickly said, "Alright, Rolana is with me right now. We'll both come over later."

After a brief silence, Rebecca replied, "Um!"

Fang Hao put the shell away.

His hand still embracing her slender waist, "Later, let's head to Lyss City together and see what the Federation is up to."

"Um!"

...

Lyss City!!

In the elegantly decorated room.

Rebecca's gaze swept over the two of them with a hint of scrutiny.

Fang Hao directly asked, "Did something else come up at the Conference?"

"Trouble?"

"I mean, has there been another problem?" Fang Hao casually poured himself a cup of tea and continued asking.

"The Sea Tribe, after several negotiations, has still caused both sides' attitudes to tighten. This time, 'Dordy' has asked Lyss City to represent the Conference and go to the coastal areas to stabilize the situation," Rebecca said softly.

Damn!
