Genshin Impact: I Became The Son Of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Wondrous Physique

Yu was in so much pain that his entire body felt numb, and he was completely drained of energy. Normally, once he entered a combat state, he wouldn't feel any pain at all. But as soon as that state ended…

The excruciating, heart-tearing agony hit him all at once!

Before he could even process the situation, a group of Yakshas appeared—red, yellow, blue, green, and purple, all present. One took the lead, while the other four hoisted Yu up, carrying him grandly towards the Geo Archon.

Flat on his back atop the Yakshas' shoulders, Yu looked utterly ridiculous, a long spear still stuck in his abdomen. All that was missing was some upbeat music and a few performers from the desert to turn it into a full-blown celebration.

At that moment, Zhongli was somewhere in the city, busy with something unknown. By sheer coincidence, the procession passed right by the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

The young parlor director caught sight of the spectacle and immediately called out, "Bring him in! Let us send this brave warrior off with dignity!"

Hearing the call, the staff inside sprang into action. Gongs clanged, drums thundered, and a singer began chanting ceremonial verses. The entire place was buzzing with excitement.

"Get lost! I'm not dead yet!" Yu roared, forcing the words out through clenched teeth despite the sharp pain.

Hearing this, the young director's initial disappointment was palpable, but he quickly ordered the staff to disperse.

Yu sighed in relief as they left, finally allowing himself to relax a little.

The director glanced back one more time and muttered, "This time, he's definitely dead, right?"

"...Scram!" Yu barked irritably.

The Yakshas, eager to avoid further nonsense, quickened their pace.

Around this time, Zhongli—who had yet to assume his role as the funeral parlor's consultant—noticed Yu's state and approached out of curiosity. "Yu… What happened?"

"Mo… Zhongli, it's nothing serious. Just a minor penetrating wound. The real issue is…" Yu pointed at the spear stuck in his body. "…it's lodged in me."

Speaking caused another sharp wave of pain to hit him, forcing Yu to lie back down with a grimace.

Zhongli reached out, lightly tapping the spear's shaft. Yu immediately jolted upright, wide awake from the sudden jolt of pain.

Calling upon a few adepti for counsel, Zhongli discussed possible solutions. Despite his millennia of experience, this was a scenario he had never encountered before.

Guizhong was the first to offer a suggestion. "The spearhead might be hooked onto his bones, preventing it from being removed."

Cloud Retainer followed. "Doesn't he possess the ability to absorb all things? Why not have him absorb the spear?"

"I'm not a black hole! I can't just absorb everything!" Yu retorted, frustrated.

Madame Ping offered another idea. "How about using adeptal arts to transfer the spear out of his body?"

"It's worth a try."

"Archon, did something go wrong?" one of the Yakshas asked hesitantly.

"…From a rational perspective, it does seem so," Zhongli admitted calmly.

Everyone stared at the extracted spear, which still had a large chunk of unidentifiable matter attached to it. Then they turned to Yu, whose muscular torso now bore a massive hole. Yet, to their amazement, the wound began to close rapidly.

"Mere fatal wounds are nothing worth mentioning. Am I not the child of the forest, ever-regenerating and brimming with vitality? Still, thank you all for your assistance. I'll remember this favor," Yu said, nodding towards them.

"No need for thanks. You've fought countless battles for Liyue's sake. This is the least we could do," Zhongli replied.

At that moment, everyone's attention shifted to the spear. Something peculiar was happening—the flesh clinging to the spear vanished rapidly, and the previously golden Vortex Vanquisher began turning green right before their eyes.

"Archon, what's happening?" Cloud Retainer asked, curiosity piqued.

"This is likely due to the spear's rocky essence interacting with a powerful Dendro element, resulting in a mutation. Let me take a closer look."

Zhongli carefully inspected the spear. "Its hardness has slightly decreased, but its flexibility has greatly improved. Its ability to channel elemental energy—especially Dendro—has also increased. Now, it's truly your weapon."

"So… should I go ahead and stab myself with Primordial Jade Cutter and Wolf's Gravestone as well?" Yu asked with a grin.

"You may, if you so wish."

"Yeah… on second thought, never mind."

During the Lantern Rite, tens of thousands of lanterns illuminated Guili Assembly. Yu and the Yakshas gathered together, busy with their tasks for the night.

"Eyes on me! Now, lower your heads!" Yu shouted, raising the severed head of the gorgon high in the air.

"This makes clearing the area much easier."

"So, are you going to finally make a body for your sister?" one of the Yakshas asked.

"Do you really think you're in any position to negotiate terms with me?" Yu shot back.

"Such a heartless man," the Yaksha sighed dramatically.

"Alright, you can lift your heads now."

One by one, the Yakshas raised their heads, taking in the sight before them. The battlefield had turned into a grim yet oddly artistic scene.

"Brother Yu, this is incredible," Bosacius said, genuinely impressed.

"Go clean up the remaining survivors. I'm going to take a break."

Leaving the final cleanup to the Yakshas, Yu made his way towards the gathering of adepti.

Despite his unannounced arrival, none of the adepti seemed to mind. Though they hadn't known him for long, and he wasn't particularly talkative, they could tell he wasn't a bad person.

"By the way, it's been a year since you left. Don't you want to go back and see them?" someone asked.
