Game of Thrones: The Red Dragon Lord

Chapter 77: Chapter 77 Moon chant Celebration

Illyrio left the seaside villa in a hurry, his ample frame appearing awkward as he tried to hurry along at a brisk pace.

He quickly hopped into a carriage and made his way back to his residence. Once inside, he wasted no time walking straight to his desk. With a sense of urgency, he picked up the quill, dipped it in ink, and began to write a letter.

"Varys, my old friend,

Our plan has gone terribly wrong. I failed to take Viserys and Daenerys away, and Viserys was killed by the assassin sent by Robert Baratheon. Before his death, he married Daenerys to Gavin Bellerys.

I have confirmed that Gavin's dragon is more than 20 meters long, immense in size, and extremely powerful.

Additionally, I have tested the other party and found that Gavin has certain ambitions to claim the Iron Throne. I wonder if we should adjust our plan and see how we can use them to our advantage.

We initially planned to use Daenerys to bargain for the Horse King's army, but now that we have secured a fleet, it is not out of the question. However, with Viserys dead, the next steps become more complicated.

Your old friend, Illyrio. I look forward to your reply."**

After finishing the letter, Illyrio carefully blew on the ink to dry it and folded it with precision. He then called for his confidant to deliver the letter as swiftly as possible. As he sat back in his chair, his brow furrowed in contemplation, repeatedly considering the possible developments that could arise from these new circumstances.

The morning sun bathed the land of Braavos in its golden glow. Gavin, accompanied by Daenerys, attended the Moonsinger's celebration and explored the bustling streets of the city. They strolled through the vibrant garden, where Blazing Shadow was peacefully asleep.

Gavin approached the dragon, gently stroking its gleaming scales.

"Gavin, are we going to ride on dragons?" Daenerys asked curiously.

Gavin smiled, his voice lighthearted. "If we ride on dragons, I'm afraid there won't be much left to see."

He grew more serious as he turned to Daenerys. "But there's something important I must tell you, Daenerys. We might encounter the Faceless Men today."

Daenerys's expression darkened with concern. "Gavin, why don't we just skip it? It's too dangerous. I've lost everything already... now, I only have you."

Gavin gently placed a hand on her head, offering her comfort. "Don't worry. Trust in my strength. This might be the best chance we have to draw them out, rather than always being on the defensive. Plus, it will give me a chance to show you something amazing about Blazing Shadow."

Daenerys's curiosity piqued, and she asked eagerly, "Are you talking about the magic that turns Blazing Shadow into flames?"

Gavin smiled, shaking his head. "This is no magic. It's Blazing Shadow's own ability."

As though sensing their conversation, the slumbering dragon began to stir. It slowly raised its head, its eyes locking on Gavin and Daenerys.

"Blazing Shadow, rise into the fire!" Gavin commanded.

Immediately, the dragon stood up, stretching its massive wings. With a powerful thrust, it soared into the air, transforming into a ball of fire as it rushed toward Gavin. In a stunning display of power, Blazing Shadow merged into Gavin's body, the flames dissipating as the dragon's essence flowed seamlessly into him.

Daenerys gasped in awe. "Gavin, can I learn this ability in the future?" Her desire to bond with dragons burned brightly within her, especially after hearing that Gavin had obtained 11 dragon eggs the previous night.

Gavin pondered for a moment, then spoke carefully. "I'm not sure. We might need the power of a fire wizard for that. But your 'Unburned' system might be able to help. However, we must include the dragons within that rule to truly advance. The question is, would the dragons remain loyal to others if they entered that rule?"

Uncertain but hopeful, Gavin added, "I'll try to find a way. I'm not sure how it will turn out, but I'll give it my best effort."

As they walked through the bustling streets of Braavos, Gavin, Daenerys, and their eight formidable Blood Dragon Guards caught the attention of many passersby.

Gavin was dressed in rich garments, an elegant sword at his waist. His demeanor was calm and alert as his eyes scanned the crowd, ever watchful for any signs of danger. His Blood Dragon Guards, towering and imposing, flanked them closely, their red eyes piercing the crowd as they kept a sharp lookout.

Daenerys, in a flowing lavender dress, was full of curiosity and excitement. She marveled at the street vendors, stopping to gaze at the strange and exotic wares. Children ran past with laughter, and the cheerful music of musicians added to the festive atmosphere.

Gavin leaned closer to Daenerys, his voice low but urgent. "Stay close, Daenerys. The Faceless Men may be hiding somewhere in this crowd."

Daenerys nodded, her hand instinctively gripping Gavin's sleeve as they moved forward.

Gavin silently hoped that this journey would reveal the mysterious Faceless Men who had been lurking in the shadows. As they walked, they eventually found themselves approaching the Isle of the Gods in Braavos, home to the numerous temples that dotted the landscape.

The most magnificent of these was the Temple of the Moon Singers, a snow-white marble palace with a towering silver dome. Milky glass windows depicted various phases of the moon, and graceful marble statues of girls flanked the doors, their hands lifting crescent-shaped beams above them.

The history of the Temple of the Moon Singers stretched back for centuries. It was said that a group of nomadic slaves from the Jogsnai tribe had once rebelled on a ship bound for the Valyrian Freehold. Among them were young slave girls—Moonsingers—who had taken control of the ship, predicting that a hidden lagoon northward would be a safe haven, protected by a fog that blocked the eyes of dragons.

Their prophecy had come true, and the Moonsingers had guided their people to Braavos, where they had founded the city. To honor their bravery, the largest temple in Braavos was built—the Temple of the Moonsingers.

Around the Temple, other temples stood in tribute to different gods and deities. Among them was the red stone Temple of the Lord of Light, a striking structure on an island where the Canal of Heroes met the Long Channel. Atop a massive tower, an enormous brazier blazed with a great flame, lighting up the sky.
