Game of Thrones: The Red Dragon Lord

Chapter 36: Chapter 36 Conquering Shipwreck Bay

Black Shark "Earl" let out a bitter, angry laugh. "Surprising? My men reported only two survivors washed ashore. How many do you have now? No wonder my search parties vanished without a trace." With that, he gripped his sword and charged at Gavin.

Gavin sidestepped swiftly, and Earl's blade struck a wooden pillar, sending splinters flying. Before Earl could recover, the Blood Dragon Guards encircled him, trapping him like a beast in a cage.

Earl roared, swinging his sword wildly in a desperate bid to break free. His strikes were powerful but lacked precision.

Gavin observed the struggle coldly and issued a simple command. "Knock him out. I need him alive."

Without hesitation, a Blood Dragon Guard stepped forward. With a thunderous blow to the back of Earl's neck, the pirate king crumpled to the floor, unconscious.

Gavin approached the limp body, his expression impassive. "Take him. We move to the port."

The Blood Dragon Guards hoisted Earl and followed Gavin out of the hall with military precision.

Chaos in the Pirate Camp

Outside, the camp was in turmoil. Patrol teams, alerted by the commotion, rushed toward the hall. At the entrance, the Blood Dragon Guards left behind stood immobile, their eerie stillness exuding a menacing aura.

When the pirates arrived, their fear turned to reckless aggression. A leading pirate charged with a scimitar, but a Blood Dragon Guard sidestepped the attack, delivering a crushing punch to his abdomen. The pirate doubled over, and the guard snatched his weapon, swiftly slicing his throat.

The remaining pirates roared and charged, their desperation palpable. But the Blood Dragon Guards met them head-on with unyielding ferocity. Steel clashed in the night, and blood painted the ground red as the guards repelled wave after wave of attackers.

Torches illuminated the bloody chaos, drawing more pirates to the scene. Despite their growing numbers, the pirates failed to gain any ground against the relentless, emotionless guards.

Gavin's Fiery Wrath

As the skirmish intensified, Gavin emerged from the hall, his expression steely. Before him stood over a hundred pirates, with more pouring into the fray.

With a thought, Gavin ignited his blade in magical flames, its fiery glow cutting through the darkness. The sight of the blazing sword filled the pirates with dread, yet some pressed forward.

Gavin charged into their ranks, his flaming sword slicing effortlessly through men and metal alike. Each swing of the blade was a symphony of destruction, bisecting pirates and scattering their weapons. From time to time, Gavin unleashed waves of fire, engulfing enemies in an inferno that left them wailing and writhing on the ground.

The Blood Dragon Guards advanced behind him, their relentless assault carving a path of carnage toward the port.

The Pirate's Last Stand

At the port, a handful of pirates scrambled to board a ship in a desperate bid to escape. Gavin's guards secured the docks, cutting off their retreat.

A few pirates managed to set sail on a longship, but their relief was short-lived. Gavin accepted a bow from one of his guards and summoned a flaming arrow. The arrow streaked through the air, striking the ship with a fiery explosion that tore a massive hole in its hull. Water gushed in, and the vessel listed precariously as pirates leaped overboard in panic.

The remaining pirates, witnessing Gavin's supernatural abilities, succumbed to fear. Many dropped their weapons and fell to their knees, muttering prayers for mercy.

An Ultimatum

As the terrified pirates knelt, Gavin strode forward, his bloodstained sword blazing in the night. His voice rang out like thunder.

"Kneel before me and swear loyalty, and I will spare your lives. Resist, and none of you will leave this island alive."

The pirates, already broken by the miraculous flames and relentless slaughter, had no will left to defy him. One by one, they swore their allegiance to Gavin.

Consolidation of Power

Two days later, Gavin sat in the pirate king's former hall, now cleaned and reorganized. Maps of the island spread before him, and Hassan, the newly appointed steward, stood nearby delivering his report.

"Sir," Hassan began, his tone respectful, "we've completed the headcount. There are 1,673 people on the island—782 were pirates, 346 are shipbuilding slaves, and the rest are indigenous residents or pirate families. The fleet includes 11 longships, three large warships, and one super-large warship under construction. Two longships are being built, and five require repairs."

Hassan, once a captive in the pirates' dungeon, now served Gavin with unwavering loyalty. Rescued from despair, he viewed Gavin as a savior and was determined to repay his life debt.

Without looking up, Gavin asked, "What about supplies?"

"Food stores will last a year, and we have ample timber for shipbuilding. The treasury held 230,000 gold dragons, along with various gems, pearls, dragon bones, and other valuables."

Gavin nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. The island was now his, its resources and people under his control. With his growing forces, the once-isolated boy who stumbled onto this island had transformed into a formidable ruler, ready to carve out a legacy of his own.
