Chapter 19: Energy...
Sorry for relatively short chapter, I am currently sick and feeling really 'off'... I hope you enjoy it either way.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
As I ate my meal, the tingling of electrical signals flickered through my unsuspecting brain in rampant patterns. What was once an untenable phenomenon had now become all too noticeable and workable to me.
My first experiment begun when a phone call started at another table. I didn't do anything too annoying or despicable, just snooping in on the sounds conveyed through the electrical signals. The phone call was rather interesting as well, talking about a certain stock that would skyrocket in the next week or so... Stark Industries. Locking away that information for later I deactivated the connection between my brain the phone.
My experimentation went further as I tried to sense the electrical signals within the computers of the restaurant. This was where I ran into a road block. These signals were structured, confined, controlled and meant for something. I had no idea what they meant or what they could pertain to. Destroying the computer felt easy enough as all I needed to do was activate my Telekinesis in conjunction to move the electricity in a certain direction, but that felt less 'James Bond'.
Including that new sense, the impression of another more unique power was eking through. This power was not introduced, didn't currently have a name, but it allowed me to see locations far away from myself. Reason I knew this was because I could currently see children learning lessons at Xavier's school. Ororo was currently speaking to them about the lessons of World War 2.
The vision cut as I receded back, feeling a psychic presence looming closer in the school. Jean was no doubt detecting me and searching for who could be using psychic abilities inside the school whilst Xavier was away or whatever.
Testing it once more I projected my mid back to the office I had just met the business contractor at. He was currently working away, already having several different documents ready for me to sign and even my EIN number. Smiling I shut it off and finished my delicious chicken parmesan, drinking the wine alongside. It was as if I had eaten fireworks of pure umami and deliciousness, it was so good.
Paying for the food I left the restaurant and entered into my corvette. From there I went back to the original apartment building I left from and began to rent an apartment there for $11,000/m, it was a temporary setup until I formed my company and started raking in cash from merchandise. Speaking of merchandise, did I even have the patent for Fallout?
{A Patent has already been accepted by the Government. The System is currently shielding any attempts to find you. This will not change unless you decide to openly expose yourself.}
'Thanks System! I don't want to be known yet...'
...
Walking into my apartment I put my fancy clothes away and quickly put on some of the comfy house wear I had around. Then I lounged over the chair of my desk, looking at the stats of Fallout.

10% of the 1 million projected purchases had currently come in as points, Act 2 had been completed by the majority of people and now Act 3 was being played. Darknight had started on Act 4 and was already finished with the Vegas content, alongside his 'batguy' teammate. Spidersidekick was at the end of Act 3 now, he was having a hell of a time blasting aliens and ghouls.
Smiling at the fun these people seemed to have playing my game, I stretched my fingers and began to furiously work at my console.
My next game was going to be Star Wars: The Old Republic, a game that was fucked over by Disney's takeover of Star Wars and the general greediness of BioWare behind it. There would be no subscription service with my version... And beyond that, this would be a true MMORPG!
I had consigned myself to spending 5 Million points for this game. From a massive realistic AI system that would allow each NPC to have reasonable levels of intelligence, to graphical enhancements to make it akin to reality as much as I could afford to allow. Looting would be manual with the NPC corpses not fading away immediately, and consequences for the overarching story if someone were to kill a certain NPC... Essentially I was going to make it that you could do anything; other than NSFW sexual stuff, within the game. There would be consequences and benefits to every action or lack thereof.
The structure of the game and the story was first. The worlds that would be present and accessible; all of them from Star Wars. Factions and forces that could be present. Space combat, exploration, encounters and various other things. Economies were next after all of these, followed by laws and then the special organisations... Jedi were the first I worked on as I implemented each ability they could use; including world-changing ones. The Sith were next as I did exactly the same.
Storylines were similar to the actual game, but much more varied as the choices were practically infinite from the perspective of the players. The AI, from what the hints were telling me, would be able to easily decipher all of the information at the exact moment the words were spoken. Each NPC would have a AI with an overarching AI akin to the Force itself that oversaw every NPC-Ai and the players. I also planned to have the all-powerful AI hand out exclusive powers to those it deems are doing something truly unique.
[AI NPC Membranes- 500,000P]
[AI Over~mind- 1,000,000P]
[Quasi Realism Graphics- 2,000,000P]
[Combined Assets- 200,000P]
[Voices For AI- 200,000P]
[Overarching Mechanics- 1,000,000P]

24 hours passed by trivially as I was sitting there finishing the final aspects of the game. For normal game DEVS this sort of turnover rate would be insane, beyond insane, impossible. For me though, with the aid of the entire Game Creator system, It was effortless to really set up the fundamental code and mechanics. Auto-error checks would expose 99% of the bugs and those that weren't exposed quickly were from simply playing the game for an hour.
My character was a custom character in the Sith Council. One Freya Darklight. And through this said character I would have a pulse on the happenings and effects that could be incurred through sampling from the AI Over-mind. To test this, I loaded a test server and made a drastic decision to kill all pirates in the galaxy... Speeding up the simulation, the Sith Empire focussed on eradicating all piracy with their borders, condemned the Republic publicly for not ridding themselves of these 'blights'. Then, due to that, several alien species supported the Sith whilst others sided with the Republic and the war increased in severity.
Happy with my test, I reset the entire thing back to the starting place of the storylines. It would be interesting to see what happens because players could create their own factions in the late game or rise in the factions already present. The storylines would be different for each person entering the game, updated by the AI Over-mind as the beginning players would effect the rest of the player's stories. The way this was done, was by having the Ai Over-mind develop independent storylines based upon the starting planet they choose, class they choose and species they choose. Essentially, you could be whatever flavour of Star Wars you wanted... Even being a Grey Knight or turn into a Jedi Smuggler or Sith Lord... All of it was based upon the effort put in.
The base for the sith were: Sith Juggernaut, Sith Inquisitor, Operative and Bounty Hunter. These were all subject to gameplay style though and loot picked up. A bounty hunter could find themselves as a spy for the Republic or Sith, or be picked up as an apprentice for a sith lord if a force aptitude is found; this could also be Jedi depending on the choices they made. This rule was the same for each class and the usage of weapons and relations was fluid.
Shaking myself from the work, after a successful first test of the game, I stood up. Exhaustion was nowhere near me currently. Staying up 24 hours was usually a sure fired way to drop off to sleep, but not today... In fact, I was energised.
So much so in fact that I left my apartment in a new outfit and went to finish off the establishment of my company... 'I wonder why I have so much energy?'
