Chapter 156: 149 Mage Tower Envoy

Bai Zhongqi had not expected that the people from the Mage Tower would not seek out Xiao Yu, the Commander of the Northern Continent Star Alliance forces, or any other front-line military officers, and instead directly appeared in Infia.

Infia, as the Star Alliance's operational base and administrative center on Emerald Sea Star, had changed dramatically from the past. The original Hexagram Star fortress had been preserved as a landmark characteristic, and although it was somewhat inconvenient, it was not a major problem. The fortress divided Infia City into two parts, the Inner City District and the Outer City District.

Even the Inner City District, where most of the original buildings had been constructed by the people of Shangduohan, were now demolished, with Iridium Star buildings rising from the ground. The Inner City District was primarily a commercial and administrative area.

The various institutions of the Star Alliance on Emerald Sea Star, including Bai Zhongqi's temporary palace and the Governor's Mansion, were all located in the Inner City District. As for the commercial district, there wasn't much there now, but it was anticipated that Infia would establish trade relations with other regions of the Star Alliance, so it was considered an early strategic move.

The Residential and Industrial areas made up the Outer City District, divided into six sections following the extensions of the Hexagram Star fortress. The original Shangduohan people had all been relocated to the Outer City District. The industrial center continuously produced all kinds of equipment needed for war and construction.

The Mage Corps envoy, Wo Duoer, also found everything he witnessed in Infia utterly incredible.

"It seems these visitors from beyond the stars are truly capable, having built the most grand and majestic city on the entire planet in such a short time," Wo Duoer said, nodding his head as he appeared to comment rather generously.

The mage beside him, Se Boluo, was somewhat trembling with fear, saying, "If they are so formidable, should our Mage Tower really become enemies with them?"

Wo Duoer laughed, "Of course not, we have come to Infia carrying peace." Find adventures on empire

With a somewhat dark complexion and long white eyebrows drooping down from either side, the bald and shining Wo Duoer wore a mage robe, exuding an aura deep as the sea. His expression carried an extraordinary confidence as he said, "However, we will not show weakness to these visitors from beyond the stars.

Their armies are strong and filled with all kinds of unimaginable weapons, even controlling the Central Sea and the sky. But we have arrived in Infia unexpectedly, completely surprising them, and that in itself is a silent demonstration of power."

Wo Duoer continued, "They have their strengths, but the six great Mage Towers have stood on this planet for a thousand years; we are not without our own foundation."

Se Boluo was still quite nervous, but as Wo Duoer's assistant on this mission, it was best for him to just follow orders and perform his duties.

Upon reaching Infia and announcing his origin, Wo Duoer immediately found himself surrounded by a large contingent of mobile infantry. The white-browed Wo Duoer raised his hands high, but his face was smiling, indicating that he bore no malice or threat.

"We have come to meet the Iridium Star Chancellor, representing the Mage Tower," Wo Duoer said with a smile.

The bionic human officer stood solemnly in front of Wo Duoer and said, "Speak directly to me about your business; the Chancellor is not someone you can meet."

Wo Duoer lowered his hands, scrutinizing the officer for a long while before saying, "Others might not notice, but it's clear to me; you are not a living person. It seems rather disdainful for the rulers of this planet to not even send a living person to meet us."

The bionic human officer had self-awareness, but Wo Duoer's words did not provoke him to act aggressively — that was the biggest difference between bionic humans and ordinary people.

The officer's gaze became colder, but he would not do anything else.

After receiving orders, the officer took Wo Duoer and the other inside to a detention facility within the Inner City, where Wo Duoer did not resist but simply requested to see the Iridium Star Chancellor.

Ten minutes later, Commander Ji You of the Marine Corps appeared in front of Wo Duoer.

"You are not the Iridium Star Chancellor; the Chancellor of Iridium Star would not come to see us personally," Wo Duoer still smiled, while Se Boluo beside him continued to shiver.

Ji You spoke with a taunting tone, "Did you really think, in a state of hostility, that we would let you meet the Chancellor of the Empire?"

Wo Duoer shook his head, "The Mage Tower has never wished to be hostile towards Iridium Star; we are here for peace and the tranquility of this planet. Expressing the Mage Tower's sincerity to the Chancellor personally is a task I must complete."

Ji You still did not agree and said, "After all, you two are Star Warriors, dangerous elements, and we absolutely cannot let you pose any threat to the Chancellor."

Wo Duoer said, "Is that how you refer to us mages? Star Warriors. It seems Iridium Star also has mages in existence. As for the threat, I assure you, I will not do anything unnecessary. During the meeting, you can keep us at a distance from the Chancellor, you can even hold a knife to my throat, and I believe, you probably would not care about our little strength, would you?"

At some point, a bald figure emerged behind Ji You, huffing a sound and looking at another bald figure, Wo Duoer, in the cage, laughed and said, "That's right, you must be a Mage at the level of a Mage in Emerald Sea Star, and here you're nothing but a Junior Star Warrior.

You're indeed a bit stronger than some of the mages I have seen before; it seems the Mage Tower is indeed cherishing its own broom as treasure."

As Wo Duoer heard this, his smile finally ceased, looking at the chuckling bald figure more seriously. He could not sense any mana from this individual, yet Wo Duoer could feel power within the masters of the six Mage Towers; there was only one person he completely failed to fathom — the pinnacle of magical divine power on this planet — the Holy Magus.

Wo Duoer had never bowed to others, but in the presence of Nan Ma, he bowed his head humbly and gave a respectful bow, "Honorable sir, it's an honor to meet you, your power is both terrifying and admirable."

Nan Ma casually said, "You folk who fly the flag of mages also have some surprises. You have managed to gather some information about us and came to this city without our knowledge; you really deserve a round of applause."

Wo Duoer responded, "With such a powerful being as yourself, your country shouldn't worry about us weak beings. Please allow me to express the highest respect to the Iridium Star Chancellor. The six great Mage Towers are willing to reconcile with Iridium Star, aiding the Chancellor to ascend to the pinnacle of power in this world."

Nan Ma chuckled, and with a stretch of his hand, the prison door opened. Ji You, beside him, showed no surprise; after all, with Nan Ma present, no one was able to cause trouble.

"You are in luck; the Chancellor wants to meet someone from the Mage Tower. I advise you to be careful with your mannerisms and words; the Chancellor may appear amicable, but he is a tough one to please. Otherwise..."

Nan Ma paused, then again revealed a wide smile, "The likes of the Mage Tower might just come to an end today."
