Chapter 22 - Not in the Same League
Chapter 22: Not in the Same League
“Sun… Sun Wukong? The legendary Monkey King from mythology? Monkey, Monkey brother… I…”
The intruder, pinned to the ground, spat blood in excruciating pain, struggling desperately. However, Monkey King’s foot seemed firmly planted, rendering him immobile. His struggles were in vain.
“Everyone, be cautious!”
Du Qiangwei’s expression changed dramatically. She hadn’t anticipated that the opponent would be so formidable. Her heart was filled with bitterness. Just a month ago, she was the most formidable super-warrior on Earth, proud and confident. She was even appointed as the captain of the special forces.
But now…
What had happened to her?
Realizing the change in her emotions, Du Qiangwei shook her head abruptly. Her gaze once again became resolute, intensely vigilant as she stared ahead.
“A bunch of inexperienced kids! Do you really think you can protect the Earth your master wants to safeguard? How arrogant!” Monkey King sneered, kicking the intruder away as if kicking trash.
As a third-generation perfected-level super warrior, he was considered powerful even in the entire era of the River of Gods’ civilization. His eyes had the ability akin to angelic insight, easily seeing through the intruder’s past and the situation of the people present. Even a bully who thrived on unfairness could become a hero.
How laughable! In the River of Gods era, Sun Wukong would be the first to deal with such scum who bullied the weak and feared the strong!
In a fit of anger, he displayed his determination!
“Create distance! Don’t get close to this guy!” Deputy Captain Qilin’s voice turned cold. With a graceful somersault, she moved away, her specially-made sniper rifle locking onto the target without hesitation.
Consecutive shots.
The bullets were deflected by Monkey King’s twirling golden cudgel.
“Heh! Little kid! Can this flimsy fire stick deal with me, Monkey King? You’re too young!”
Monkey King grinned, and his golden cudgel thrust forward.
Expanding rapidly.
Qilin couldn’t dodge in time and was sent flying. Du Qiangwei’s expression changed drastically.
The gap was too significant!
She hadn’t expected that a super warrior dormant for tens of thousands of years would still possess such terrifying combat power. Two members of her four-person team were seriously injured within a minute.
Now…
“What are you thinking? Kid, it’s a big taboo to be distracted during a battle! Didn’t your old man teach you that?”
Suddenly, mocking laughter came from behind. Du Qiangwei broke out in a cold sweat all over her body, almost instinctively activating the micro-wormhole space. Then, a tremendous explosion resounded from behind. The sweeping golden cudgel had blasted an entire small mountain!
The intruder lying far away turned pale, deciding to play dead for the time being. Du Qiangwei also felt a sense of fear. But she had just emerged from the other end of the micro-wormhole when she heard a voice that seemed to beckon death.
“Oh, using the micro-wormhole for teleportation? But you’re not the only one who knows how!” Monkey King grinned, showing his teeth. Once again, his golden cudgel swept horizontally, and Du Qiangwei grunted, being smashed and flung not far from the intruder.
She tried to stand up, but the intense pain made it difficult for her to move. The gap in combat power was too vast. Du Qiangwei and her companions were merely first-generation super warriors, and even the strongest among them, Du Qiangwei herself, hadn’t upgraded to the second generation.
But Monkey King, even after being dormant for thousands of years, was still a third-generation beast-type super warrior, surpassing their four-person team by far.
“Oh, and one more thing. Once I’m done with all of you, I’ll deal with that damn so-called mysterious containment organization!” Monkey King roared.
But he didn’t hold back with his golden cudgel, sweeping it directly towards Su Xiaoli, the last one with almost zero combat power. The little fox was so scared that her legs gave out, clutching her pretty face and letting out a scream. She was truly terrified.
Monkey King roared in his heart. But his golden cudgel abruptly stopped in front of the little fox.
“Hmm? Little fox…” Monkey King’s golden eyes flickered uncertainly.
The golden cudgel slowly shrank back to its normal state, and a hint of melancholy appeared on his hairy face. The little fox also released her grip in astonishment, looking at Monkey King with a confused gaze.
“You guys can leave! Take the opportunity while I haven’t changed my mind!” Monkey King suddenly turned his back.
“I’m not interested in your alien civilization, and I won’t become your research subject. If it’s only cooperation to protect the Earth, I’ll consider it, but now… Heh heh, are those damn mysterious containment creatures coming again?” Monkey King sneered.
This scene sent Du Qiangwei and the others into a frenzy of shock.
He’s too powerful!
Wait!
As they followed Monkey King’s gaze, their expressions turned frantic. The previously calm sky had revealed new words, seemingly written out of nowhere.
