Fate of the Strongest

Chapter 9: The Enemy Revealed

The silence of the night was heavy, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves in the wind. Jujutsu High stood as a beacon of protection, its barriers shimmering faintly in the moonlight. But beyond those barriers, darkness gathered.

In a dense forest far from the school, a group of curses and rogue sorcerers assembled. Their leader stood at the center of a glowing sigil, the flickering light casting eerie shadows across their face. Though their features remained hidden, the malevolence they exuded was unmistakable.

"Gojo Satoru is the key," the leader said, their voice smooth and calculated. "His strength keeps the balance intact, but it's also his greatest weakness. He believes himself invincible. That arrogance will be his undoing."

One of the curses, a hulking beast with spiked limbs, growled in agreement. "His students are no match for us. Why not strike them down first?"

The leader raised a hand, silencing the curse. "Because fear is a more effective weapon than brute force. We will chip away at his allies, his defenses, his very resolve. By the time we face him directly, he'll be nothing more than a shadow of his former self."

A rogue sorcerer stepped forward, their eyes gleaming with malice. "What's our next move?"

The leader smirked. "We send a message."

At Jujutsu High, the students awoke to the sound of alarms blaring through the halls. Megumi, Yuta, and Panda rushed to the main building, where Principal Yaga and Gojo were already gathered.

"What's going on?" Yuta asked, his sword in hand.

"We've got a breach," Yaga said grimly. "A group of curses managed to slip past the outer barriers. They're heading this way."

"How many?" Megumi asked, his jaw tightening.

"Three," Gojo replied, adjusting his blindfold. "But these aren't your run-of-the-mill curses. They're coordinated."

Panda cracked his knuckles. "Coordinated or not, we can take them."

Gojo smirked. "That's the spirit. But don't underestimate them. I'll handle the big one. The three of you take the others."

Yaga nodded. "Shoko and I will stay back to reinforce the barriers. If more show up, we'll need to be ready."

The students followed Gojo to the training grounds, where the intruders had already arrived. The first curse was a towering creature covered in jagged spikes, its glowing eyes locked onto the group. The second was smaller but moved with unsettling speed, its limbs contorting in unnatural ways. The third was humanoid, its aura pulsing with cursed energy that made the air feel heavy.

"Remember," Gojo said, stepping forward to face the largest curse. "Work together. Don't let your guard down."

The students nodded, their focus sharpening.

Megumi summoned his divine dogs, the twin shikigami darting toward the smaller curse. It moved with lightning speed, evading their attacks and countering with a flurry of strikes.

"This thing's fast," Megumi muttered, his eyes narrowing. "Yuta, flank it!"

Yuta rushed in, his katana gleaming as he aimed for the curse's legs. The blade connected, forcing the creature to stumble. Megumi seized the opportunity, summoning his serpent to wrap around the curse and immobilize it.

"Finish it!" Megumi shouted.

Yuta didn't hesitate, delivering a powerful slash that split the curse in two.

"That's one down," Yuta said, breathing heavily.

Meanwhile, Panda faced off against the humanoid curse. It moved with calculated precision, each strike aimed to exploit his weaknesses.

"You're smarter than you look," Panda said, dodging a swing. "But I'm tougher than I look."

With a roar, Panda unleashed a powerful blow that sent the curse flying. It landed with a snarl, its body cracking as it reformed.

"Great," Panda muttered. "A regenerating type."

He glanced at Megumi and Yuta. "Little help here?"

Megumi summoned Nue, the shikigami's electric attacks stunning the curse long enough for Panda to deliver another heavy strike. Together, they overwhelmed it, breaking its core and watching as it disintegrated.

While the students handled their fights, Gojo faced the largest curse alone. It towered over him, its spiked limbs swinging with devastating force.

"You're big, I'll give you that," Gojo said, dodging effortlessly. "But size isn't everything."

The curse roared, its attacks growing more frenzied. Gojo sighed, raising his hand.

"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red."

A blast of crimson energy erupted from his palm, tearing through the curse and sending it crashing to the ground.

"Too easy," Gojo muttered, turning to check on the students.

As the last curse fell, the students regrouped, their exhaustion evident but their spirits high.

"We did it," Panda said, wiping sweat from his brow.

"Don't celebrate yet," Gojo said, his tone unusually serious. "This was just the opening act."

"What do you mean?" Yuta asked.

Gojo gestured to the remains of the curses. "These weren't random attackers. They were sent here on purpose. Someone's testing us."

Megumi frowned. "Testing us for what?"

Gojo's expression darkened. "To see if we're ready for what's coming. And to send a message: they're not done yet."

That night, Gojo stood on the roof of the main building, gazing out at the stars. His usual playful demeanor was gone, replaced by a quiet resolve.

"They're making their move," he murmured. "And whoever's leading them... they're not like the others."

Behind him, Yaga approached, his footsteps soft but deliberate.

"You think the students are ready?" Yaga asked.

Gojo smiled faintly. "They're getting there. But they'll need more than strength to survive this."

Yaga nodded. "Then we'll keep preparing. No matter what it takes."

Gojo's gaze hardened as he looked out into the darkness. "Let them come. The strongest always finds a way."
