Fate of the Strongest

Chapter 7: Allies and Enemies

The next morning, Jujutsu High buzzed with activity. The aftermath of the cursed attack had left its mark—not just on the grounds but on everyone's minds. Principal Yaga called an emergency meeting, summoning the students and faculty to the main hall.

Gojo leaned casually against the wall at the front of the room, his ever-present blindfold in place. Despite his relaxed posture, the tension in his shoulders was evident to anyone who knew him well.

"All right," Yaga began, addressing the room. "We need to talk about what happened last night. The curse that attacked wasn't an isolated incident. It's part of something much bigger."

The students exchanged uneasy glances.

"It's about the prophecy, isn't it?" Megumi asked, breaking the silence.

Yaga nodded. "Yes. The prophecy isn't just a warning—it's a declaration. The curses are organizing under a single leader, and their goal is clear: to eliminate Gojo Satoru and restore what they see as balance to the world."

"Balance?" Panda scoffed. "That's a funny way of saying they want to take over."

"Exactly," Yaga said. "Gojo's power is the only thing keeping them from tipping the scales entirely in their favor. If they succeed in taking him down, the consequences will be catastrophic."

"I won't let that happen," Gojo interjected, his voice calm but firm. "Let them come. I'll handle them."

Yaga sighed. "This isn't just about you, Gojo. If they're targeting you, they'll come for the people closest to you too. That means the students, the faculty—everyone."

The weight of Yaga's words settled over the room like a heavy fog.

Later, as the meeting dispersed, Megumi, Yuta, and Panda lingered in the courtyard.

"So, it's official," Panda said. "We're part of some grand cosmic battle now. No pressure or anything."

"We've always been in this fight," Yuta replied. "But now it's bigger than we thought."

Megumi frowned, deep in thought. "If the curses are organizing, then we need to do the same. We can't just wait for them to come to us."

Yuta nodded. "Agreed. But we'll need more information. Who's leading the curses? And why now?"

"That's the real question," Panda said. "What changed to make them this bold?"

Meanwhile, in a darkened room far from Jujutsu High, a group of curses and rogue sorcerers gathered around a large, glowing seal etched into the floor. At its center stood a figure cloaked in shadow, their presence radiating malevolent energy.

"The attack on Gojo was a failure," one of the curses growled. "He's stronger than we anticipated."

"It was only the first move," the cloaked figure replied, their voice smooth and cold. "Gojo Satoru may be strong, but even the strongest can be worn down. We will chip away at his defenses until he has nothing left."

"And the students?" another asked. "They're becoming a nuisance."

"They're pawns," the leader said dismissively. "But pawns can still be used to our advantage. We'll strike where they're weakest."

Back at Jujutsu High, Gojo called a private meeting with Yaga, Shoko, and Nanami in the faculty lounge.

"We need allies," Gojo said, his tone unusually serious. "If the curses are banding together, we can't fight them alone."

Yaga leaned back in his chair, considering the suggestion. "Who do you have in mind?"

"Other sorcerers," Gojo replied. "Ones who don't usually play by the rules. If we can convince them to join us, we'll have a better chance."

Nanami crossed his arms, his expression skeptical. "And how do you plan to convince them? Most independent sorcerers don't exactly trust Jujutsu High."

"They'll trust me," Gojo said confidently.

Shoko raised an eyebrow. "Because you're the strongest?"

"Exactly," Gojo said with a grin.

The next day, Gojo left the campus, leaving the students under Yaga's supervision. His first destination was an old temple in the mountains, where a reclusive sorcerer named Kaito was rumored to live.

The temple was surrounded by dense forest, and the air was thick with cursed energy. Gojo pushed open the heavy wooden doors and stepped inside, his senses immediately alert.

"Kaito!" he called out, his voice echoing through the empty halls. "It's me, Gojo. I'm here to talk."

A figure emerged from the shadows, their robes flowing as they moved. Kaito's face was obscured by a mask, but their piercing gaze was unmistakable.

"Gojo Satoru," Kaito said, their voice calm but wary. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"We need your help," Gojo said bluntly.

Kaito tilted their head. "Help with what?"

"There's a war coming," Gojo explained. "The curses are organizing, and they're coming after me—and everyone else who stands in their way. We can't fight them alone."

Kaito was silent for a moment, their expression unreadable. Finally, they spoke. "And what makes you think I'd risk my life for your cause?"

"Because it's not just my cause," Gojo replied. "If they win, no one will be safe—not sorcerers, not civilians. You've seen what they're capable of."

Kaito sighed. "You're asking me to put a lot of faith in you, Gojo."

Gojo smiled, his confidence unwavering. "I've never let you down before, have I?"

After a long pause, Kaito nodded. "Fine. I'll help you. But this better be worth it."

Back at Jujutsu High, the students continued their training, unaware of the alliances Gojo was forging. Megumi stood in the training yard, summoning his shikigami and testing their limits.

"You're pushing yourself too hard," Yuta said, approaching him.

"I have to," Megumi replied. "If we're going to survive this, we need to be stronger than ever."

Yuta placed a hand on his shoulder. "We'll get through this. Together."

Megumi nodded, though his resolve remained firm.

As the sun set, Gojo returned to the campus, a small smile playing on his lips.

"We've got our first ally," he announced to Yaga. "And they're just the beginning."

Yaga nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Good. We're going to need every advantage we can get."

Gojo's smile widened. "Don't worry, Principal. The strongest always finds a way."
