Fairy Tail: Rebirth of the Arcane Wanderer

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Joining the Chaos

Chapter 2: Joining the Chaos

Kael's POV

The docks of Hargeon were still smoldering when I decided to head out. Natsu and Lucy were safe, and I had no intention of explaining my sudden magical intervention to them. Instead, I followed the map provided by my system, which now pointed toward Magnolia—the home of Fairy Tail.

It seemed straightforward enough, but I knew nothing in this world would be as easy as it looked. The system might guide me, but it didn't protect me from getting killed—or embarrassed.

---

Lucy's POV

"You're telling me you were looking for your dad's dragon and ended up at the docks?" I asked, still trying to process everything.

Natsu grinned as we walked. "Yup! But then I found you, so it wasn't a waste!"

I wasn't sure whether to laugh or sigh. Meeting Natsu and Happy had certainly turned my day upside down, but they weren't the worst companions. If anything, they were a reminder of why I wanted to join a guild—adventure, camaraderie, and the chance to be part of something bigger.

Still, I couldn't shake the memory of the strange attack on Salamander. That magic… it didn't come from Natsu.

Kael's POV

Magnolia was bigger than I'd expected. The streets buzzed with activity, and the enormous Fairy Tail guildhall loomed like a beacon of chaos. It was as rowdy as the anime made it look, with mages laughing, fighting, and drinking like it was a holiday.

I hesitated at the door, clutching the strap of my tome. "Alright, Kael. Time to meet the heroes."

As I stepped inside, a mug of beer whizzed past my head and shattered against the wall. The room erupted into laughter and cheers, and I froze, unsure whether to join in or duck for cover.

"You lost?" a gruff voice asked.

I turned to see a hulking figure—Elfman, the giant with a love for manliness. His arms were crossed, and he towered over me, but his expression wasn't unkind.

"I'm… here to join," I said, my voice steady despite my nerves.

Before Elfman could respond, a pink blur shot past him. Natsu skidded to a stop in front of me, his grin as wide as ever. "Hey! You're that guy from Hargeon!"

Crap. I wasn't ready to explain myself.

"Uh… yeah," I said, scratching the back of my head. "Small world, huh?"

Natsu didn't seem to care about my awkward response. He slapped me on the back hard enough to knock the air out of me. "You're joining Fairy Tail? Awesome! Let's fight!"

"Wait, what—"

Before I could finish, Natsu's fist was already coming toward my face. My instincts kicked in, and I ducked just in time.

"Oh, come on!" I groaned, dodging another punch. The guild cheered as Natsu chased me around the room, his attacks getting more enthusiastic with every miss.

"Stop running and fight me!" Natsu shouted, his fists glowing with fire.

"I'd rather not die on my first day!" I shot back, leaping over a table.

Just as Natsu launched another fiery punch, Erza Scarlet's voice cut through the chaos like a blade.

"Natsu. Stand. Down."

The room went silent as everyone turned to look at the armored redhead. Natsu froze mid-swing, his expression turning sheepish.

"Sorry, Erza," he mumbled, backing away.

Erza turned her sharp gaze on me, and I felt like a bug under a magnifying glass. "And you are?"

"Kael," I said quickly, straightening up. "I'm here to join the guild."

She studied me for a moment, her eyes lingering on the tome at my side. "You have potential," she said finally. "But you'll need to prove yourself."

---

Guild Initiation

Prove myself. Of course. It couldn't be as easy as signing a form and shaking hands.

"Great," I muttered under my breath. "What's next? Slaying a dragon?"

"Don't worry!" Natsu said, throwing an arm around my shoulders. "We'll help you out. Right, Lucy?"

"Wait, why me?" Lucy protested.

"You're the one who dragged him into this!"

Lucy groaned, rubbing her temples. "Fine. But if he gets us killed, I'm blaming you."

Happy grinned, hovering above us. "This is gonna be fun!"

I wasn't so sure about that. As the guild erupted into cheers, I realized this was only the beginning of my adventures—and my headaches.
