Chapter 100: Answered Questions, A Slave And The Identity Of The Mysterious Figure Part Three
Akun, his curiosity piqued, chose to shatter the heavy silence that clung to the atmosphere. His eyes, sharp and probing, fixed upon Camilla as he decided to break the tension. "Hey, what's your name?" he inquired, his question delivered with a casual nonchalance that masked the underlying gravity of the situation.
He hadn't had the chance to pose this inquiry earlier, and now, it hung in the air like an unspoken challenge. "Might as well get up and introduce yourself," he suggested, his voice carrying a subtle expectation.
Camilla, still trembling with fear, found herself grappling with the tremors in her voice as she stammered out her reply. "It's Camilla, the Sin of Lust. I'm the Demon King's third general," she confessed, her words quivering as she slowly rose to her feet. Her eyes remained locked onto Akun's, an undeniable submission in her gaze.
Akun's calculating gaze moved beyond her visage, focusing on the physical manifestations of her sin—the pointed ears and telltale tail that marked her as the Sin of Lust. He couldn't resist a touch of mockery as he commented, "Sin of Lust, huh? Quite fitting for a dog," his words dripping with a disdainful undertone, a subtle reminder of her subservience.
His demeanor remained composed, but there was a lingering trace of amusement in his expression. "Alright," he conceded, adopting a more perfunctory tone, "get out of here. Return to your duties as a demon general."
Camilla hesitated for a moment, uncertainty etched across her features. Her voice trembled as she spoke, betraying her inner turmoil. "Um... I'm not entirely sure how to find my way back to the Demon King's castle from here."
Akun's patience wore thin, and he couldn't help but express his exasperation. He let out a weary sigh and massaged his temples with a hint of irritation. "Just keep walking in that direction," he instructed, pointing behind her. "You'll eventually exit the forest, and I'm sure you know the way home from there."
As Camilla turned to depart, thinking that the ordeal was over, Akun's voice sliced through the stillness once more, halting her in her tracks. When he spoke her name, it was with an intensity that left no room for misunderstanding. "Camilla," he called, his voice carrying a weight of seriousness that sent shivers down her spine. The eerie calmness was gone, replaced by an undeniable threat.
"I don't take kindly to betrayal," he warned, his words resonating with the power he wielded. "The moment I suspect you're trying to betray me, you'll wish you were never born. Even in death, you won't find rest." His eyes bore into her, imprinting the gravity of his words upon her psyche before he allowed her to proceed on her uncertain path.
Camilla's face drained of color, her pallor accentuating the sudden tension that gripped the forest. Her response was swift, yet her voice quivered with submission as she acknowledged, "I won't, Master," the word "Master" slipping in seamlessly as an offering of obedience.
Akun, who had displayed an air of dominance, nodded with an air of approval, granting her permission to depart. "Alright then, off you go," he said, his tone less severe but no less commanding. Camilla straightened herself, summoning what remained of her pride, and began her walk away from the oppressive forest.
Her heart bore the newfound knowledge of Akun's warning like a heavy burden, her steps weighed down by the chilling encounter.
With Camilla finally leaving the forest, Akun shifted his attention, his gaze settling upon Evan. There was a palpable shift in the atmosphere as he addressed him with an unsettling undertone. "Now that I'm done with the refreshments, why don't I dig into the main course?" His words, laden with a sinister implication, sent a cascade of shivers down Evan's spine.
In that moment, he realized that his reckoning had arrived.
Evan, trembling with fear yet resolved, braced himself for the impending confrontation. His mind raced, silently acknowledging, "Here it is," as his heart pounded relentlessly, an unyielding drumbeat signaling the commencement of his moment of truth.
However, Akun underwent a perplexing transformation, his demeanor shifting from one of dominance to an unsettling calm and friendliness. With an air of casual cheerfulness, he approached Evan, crouching down beside him as if to bridge the gap between them. "Hey, Evan, how's it hanging?" he inquired, his tone devoid of the menace that had cloaked him moments earlier.

Evan, grappling with confusion, could scarcely comprehend Akun's abrupt change in behavior. Summoning the remnants of his courage, he ventured a question, his voice quivering with trepidation, "Excuse me, but how do you know my name? I've never met you before."
Akun, maintaining his facade of geniality, brushed off Evan's concerns with a nonchalant wave of his hand. "Oh, come on, Evan. Aren't friends supposed to know each other's names? Heck, we're supposed to instantly recognize each other," he replied, his tone light and almost jovial.
Evan, however, remained visibly bewildered and fearful, uncertainty etched across his features.
Akun, seemingly exasperated, let out a sigh tinged with mock irritation. "Guess that only applies to friends," he muttered. Then, adopting a more serious demeanor, he continued, "Does the name 'Akun' ring any bells for you?"
Evan, still grappling with disbelief, stammered out a response, his voice barely above a whisper. "Y-yes, but what is it to you?"

Akun's expression underwent yet another transformation, this time settling into one of irritation and impatience. "Huh! You're telling me you're still dense even after I threw my name your way? Guess you really are cruel," he remarked, his annoyance palpable.
Evan's eyes widened as the truth began to dawn upon him. His voice trembled as he whispered, "No... No, it can't be... Akun, is that you?"
Akun's lips curled into a sinister smile, a chilling expression that sent a shiver down Evan's spine. "In the flesh, Evan," he uttered with a malevolent gleam in his eyes.
