Chapter 436: Going to the Necoris Sacred Land.
Looking at the quiet young man, the Necoris trembled, sweat dripping from his forehead. This was the most intense moment of his life.
It felt as if he were standing on the edge of an abyss, ready to fall at any moment.
Zimo, however, paid no attention to the trembling Necoris. He was receiving an order from Su Yen.
Although Su Yen was not physically in the Clear Wind City, his spiritual sense covered the area as long as there was a pagoda nearby, enabling him to monitor the situation effortlessly.
"Can you lead us to the sacred land?" Zimo finally broke the silence.
"Yes... Some of our elders know the location of the sacred land, but..." The Necoris's words trailed off, and a panicked expression crossed his face.
Zimo did not respond but stared at him, his intentions clear. Clearing his throat, the Necoris continued. "No one knows how to open the sacred land except the royal house, and all of them were wiped out by..."
He didn't finish his sentence, but his meaning was clear. He looked at Zimo, only to find the same calm, indifferent expression on his face.
"You don't have to worry about that. As long as the sacred land is real, your race's transgressions will be forgiven, and you will become a vassal race of the Barren Land."
A sigh of relief escaped the Necoris, and a faint smile crept onto his face. "M-My Lord... Can I..."
"Take this," Zimo interrupted, tossing him a Spirit Comms.
Catching the Spirit Comms, the Necoris's face lit up with anticipation. His race had heard rumors about the power of the Spirit Comms.
Many of his people had doubted that humans could achieve such a feat, but the upper echelon knew better.
He held the Spirit Comms as if it were a rare artifact, attempting to slide it onto his finger—only to realize that his fingers were much larger and entirely different in shape.
'Ah! How could I forget?' He was embarrassed by his foolishness but quickly adjusted his expression when he saw that Zimo wasn't looking at him.
Instead of wearing the ring, he held it in his hand and sent his consciousness into it.
And then, another world unfolded in his mind.
"M-My goodness..." he exclaimed, shocked.
He had entirely forgotten that he was in Zimo's presence. The magical world of the Spirit Comms surpassed even his wildest imagination.
Zimo glanced briefly at the Necoris, who was acting like a child and shook his head. With the secret of the sacred land revealed, the time for idleness was over.
He quickly summoned Deng Kun and Lang Bai.
A moment later, the two men arrived. When they saw the Necoris's exaggerated expression, they rolled their eyes and turned to Zimo.
"Ignore him," Zimo said, waving his hand dismissively. "We have a mission. We leave in five minutes."
Recognizing the solemn expression on Zimo's face, Deng Kun and Lang Bai didn't hesitate. They immediately returned to prepare for the mission.
Five minutes later.
Zimo and his men left the Clear Wind City, shooting through the sky like bullets.
Flying at extreme speeds, the dumbfounded Necoris screamed, traumatized by the sheer velocity.
Lang Bai, who carried him, chuckled softly as they sped toward the Necoris capital. After a few hours of flying, they saw a bustling city in the distance.
Compared to their previous destroyed capital, this city was less prosperous. Moreover, an oppressive atmosphere loomed over it.
On the tall city walls, hundreds of guards patrolled with grave expressions.
When the Necoris saw that they had arrived at his city, he was stunned. The distance between the human kingdom and the city was thousands of miles, yet they had covered it in less than two hours.
"Which way?" Lang Bai asked.
Too frightened to speak, the Necoris pointed toward his clan's location.
In an instant, they vanished from sight, moving so quickly that the guards failed to notice anything.
They arrived above a massive mansion filled with Necoris who looked just like the one accompanying them.
Compared to the oppressive atmosphere outside, those within the mansion appeared calm. An air of superiority surrounded them, and other Necoris bowed as they passed.
Zimo and his men observed the scene briefly before turning to the Necoris.
"My father lives here," he said quickly, pointing to the southern part of the mansion.
In the southern section, a giant Necoris with pale yellow scales stood beside an artificial lake, feeding the fish.
Suddenly, the air around him vibrated, causing the Necoris to frown. Three humans descended from the sky before he could process the strange sensation.
Seeing the humans, a dreadful feeling washed over him, and his scales bristled. But when he saw his son, a look of realization flashed across his face.
"Father."
"Drin..." his father called out in relief before turning his attention to the three humans.
His decision to send his son to the human kingdom was a calculated risk on his path. But when he thought of the destruction of the royal families, he couldn't help but regret his decision.
But now seeing his son, he knew his gamble had paid off.
"Father, they came to check the sacred land," Drin said, going straight to the point. He knew how powerful and impatient these humans were and didn't want to risk provoking them.
"Hmm..." Orzall frowned, glaring at his son. How could Drin reveal such a monumental secret?!
Furious, he wanted to reprimand him, but the humans' calm demeanor restrained him.
Drin could sense his father's frustration and added quickly, "Without the sacred land, they'll destroy us. Besides, the sacred land is useless if we don't know how to enter it."
Hearing this, the deep frown on Orzall's face lessened. He knew why their city was shrouded in fear—they dreaded retaliation from the humans.
Now, it seemed his son had managed to pacify them. However, their intention to surrender felt like an inevitable truth.
"Please, follow me," Orzall said respectfully to Zimo and his men.
"Don't waste our time. Lead us to the sacred land immediately," Zimo commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"Yes... Yes. Drin, gather the elders. We must leave at once."
