Eternal life begins with saving my clan

Chapter 321: Bones of an Ancient Expert

Silence descended on the hall as everyone held their breath, looking at Su Wei with wide eyes.

"W-What did you just say?" the Ancestor stood from his throne, his voice trembling.

"I said I found traces of the Ancient Battlefield," Su Wei responded confidently.

Suddenly, the ancestor appeared in front of Su Wei at an extreme speed and held his hand.

Hahahaha.

He burst into hysterical laughter. The grand elders and elders were too young to understand the gravity of what Su Wei just revealed now.

However, from the ancestor's reaction, they knew the news was way more important than anything else.

Su Wei's father, Su Yifan, had a change in cold expressionlessness. He looked at Su Wei with visible shock on his face.

He did not expect his useless son to succeed in discovering such an earthshaking thing.

As for the two grand elders, their scornful expressions turned to shock, then to envy.

After over a hundred years, a banished son came back with such important news, leaving a bitter taste in their mouths.

Slowly, the Ancestor recovered from his excitement and said, "You're truly the son of my Su clan."

Just as the ancestor prepared to continue showing praise to him.

The only woman among the grand elders said, "Ancestor, I think before we jump to conclusions, we should validate if what he was saying is true or not."

Hmm?

When everyone heard this, their expressions froze for a moment before they nodded.

Su Wei had been exiled for far too long for them to easily believe whatever he says.

Su Yifan glared at her, but she acted as if she didn't notice him. As for the ancestor, his expression became unreadable.

Slowly, he turned to look at her and asked, "How long have you been in that post?"

What?

Su Bing was stunned before confusion marred her face. This was not about her but about this bastard son.

Still, she managed to control her facial expression from her deep inner thoughts.

"Ancestor, twenty years," she responded respectfully.

"How long do you think he has been in exile?"

Su Bing's expression became unsightly as she knew she had fallen on the bad side of the ancestor, and she needed to tread carefully.

Just as she prepared to respond, the ancestor cut her off.

"One hundred and twenty years. And where were you then?" The more the ancestor spoke, the more visible veins appeared on his forehead.

"A kid under the care of his father. What you have today is the clan's mercy and the huge contribution of your parent."

"Your petty schemes should be among you; don't ever dare display it in my presence again."

Without thinking twice, Su Ming fell on one knee and bowed her head. "I've realized my mistake and it won't ever happen again."

Her head was covered in beads of sweat, with her heart pounding heavily against her chest.

The Ancestor scoffed and turned to look at Su Wei, his expression turning to a radiant smile.

"As a Su, you know the importance of the clan's growth and our aspirations. Show me or tell me how you found out about this Ancient Battlefield."

"Before leaving the clan, I heard my father talk about the ancient battle and how the clans had deployed many in search of this mysterious ancient battlefield," Su Wei began slowly.

"When I and my people arrived at the barren land, we continued to search for clues about the ancient battlefield."

"But with how barren our land was, we lost hope. But not until two years ago when a hundred pirates mysteriously disappeared on the Southern sea."

Everyone inside the hall listened attentively to his narration. Even the previously sober Su Bing was now back on her seat, listening.

"At first, no one cared about their disappearance, but when the Huang merchant ship disappeared, we came to know of it."

"The Ancient Huang clan?" the Ancestor asked in shock.

"No," Su Wei shook his head. "They also have descendants living in the barren land."

Gasps!

They thought they were the only ones that sent their descendants to such a deadly place, but who would have guessed it was not only them.

Even though all the ancient clans might be in some alliance.

They all knew it was just to achieve a common goal; they were enemies and they could not wait to tear each other to pieces.

Thus, each of them kept their movements as secret as possible.

"Are there any other ancient clans in the barren land?"

"Yes. Apart from the Huang clan, there are the Li clan and the Zhang clan. Each of us dominates a region in the barren land."

"So four ancient clans are living in the barren land," the Ancestor said, his voice dripping with shock before turning to suspicion.

"Do you think they are also looking for the Ancient Battlefield?"

"I don't know. We're at odds with the Li and Zhang clans. We barely have any interaction," Su Wei responded.

The Ancestor nodded, waiting for him to continue.

Su Wei took a deep breath to arrange his thoughts and continued. "The Huang clan is the weakest of the four clans, but they boast a massive economy and they are the wealthiest among us all."

"With their ship lost, they need help, and they called for us. I sent ten of our strongest warriors on the voyage."

"The Southern sea was a deadly sea that we tried to avoid going further on. But with their missing ship, we went further than any ship has ever gone."

Everyone inside the room held their breath, sitting at the edge of their seats.

At this moment, if anyone dared to interrupt Su Wei's flow of storytelling, they might attack them.

"According to the people that managed to return, they journeyed outside the northern continent, witnessing a world of endless water and danger."

"On the sea, they witnessed pillars of water reaching the sky, powerful currents that could destroy our continent in a blink, thunder and lightning dancing on the surface of the sea."

"They tried to turn back, but it was too late, and one of the pillars of water destroyed their ships."

"Out of the five ships, one managed to return. When they prepared to flee for their lives, the sea current threw something in their direction, and the aura from it killed half of the crew."

"Two of the strongest warriors used their lives to bring back what they found by luck." Su Wei paused and looked at the faces of everyone present.

"And this is where we conclude that after the terrifying sea storm, there is the ancient battlefield."

Saying that, he waved his hand, and a pure white bone appeared on the ground.

The moment the bone appeared, everyone inside the hall fell to the ground from the overwhelming pressure coming out of the bone.

The only person that managed to stand up was the ancestor. Gritting his teeth, the ancestor waved his hand and put the bone inside his storage ring.

The moment the ring disappeared, all the elders and grand elders breathed a sigh of relief and got up from the ground.

Their faces were full of astonishment. They had never felt such an overwhelming pressure in their lives. Even the aura from the ancestor could not be compared at all with it.

It was one thousand times more terrifying than the ancestor's aura.

How strong was the cultivator if their bone could make them lie on the ground just from their bone alone?

The ancestor's eyes were shining brightly; he knew the importance of the bones and what it means if the news came out.

"Seal this news. And I want every one of youto make a Dao oath not to reveal what you just learned," he said with a grave voice.

Quickly, they all made a Dao oath without thinking twice.

With them making the oath, the ancestor smiled.

"The door to the Saint Realm has opened for our clan," he declared.

"Saint Realm!" they cried in their hearts.

The ancestor looked at Su Wei with a bright smile and declared him part of the clan once again, while also declaring they should make preparations to go to the barren land.
