Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 2551: Hidden No Longer

The attack from the Sword God that had nearly killed Alex had left him breathless. Fear ruled his mind at the moment. Fear for his life. Fear of his death.

Words failed to escape his lips, and all he could do was quiver as he felt the overwhelming odds stacked against his own survival. Just him and some others against the plethora of gods.

Throughout his life, Alex had been in many terrifying situations, and he had come out of them stronger. And even with all that, in front of such might, he could only fear.

"Let me out!" Godslayer said within his mind. "I need to get out."

"No…" Alex thought. Things were already bad enough as they were. From what he could see, there was a chance that he could live. If he could speak, if he could persuade them all that he wasn't a threat, he might be allowed to live.

However, if he let Godslayer out, the nemesis of all gods, then the chances of his survival would fall to zero.

"Let me out!"

"I can't," Alex said softly.

He looked before him at Grimsight and to his side at the Alchemy God. These two were the only ones that were trying to protect him at that moment. Everyone else had hostile eyes.

Alex could not imagine how he was going to get out of such a situation.

He felt an arm on his shoulder suddenly and turned around, ready to attack regardless of whoever it was. He needed to survive, after all.

However, when he noticed that it was his master, he stopped.

"We need to run away. Now!" he said and dragged Alex away.

They were barely halfway across the stage when a few objects flew past them. Multiple formation rods arrived at the edge of the stage, immediately activating. A massive barrier formation rose all around them, keeping them inside, like walls to a prison.

Silvermist turned back and saw that it was the Formation God who had just used that formation. Within the Divine Formation, it would be difficult to run away.

Silvermist immediately released white mist from his palms, enveloping Alex in it. It was a protective technique he had put around Alex using his own Creation. Then, he turned around and looked for those who wanted to kill his disciple.

He wasn't going to go down without a fight.

Starsight sat on her knees on the floor, her hands on her head. The images of the future haunted her. They were so clear. She was so certain that they were going to happen that she almost believed she had been there in the future for a moment.

The dread and despair she felt at that moment remained with her still. Her body shook uncontrollably, as never before had she had such an experience.

"Why…" she asked slowly. "Why did I have to be the one to see it?"

No one replied.

"Please! You already knew what was going to happen? Why did you make me suffer?" she asked again. "Answer me, Divination God!"

This time, an answer came back.

"This was always meant to be," the Divination God spoke from far away. "You were always meant to see this."

Starsight's breathing got heavy at that moment. "Do you… do you always see the future this vividly?" she asked. "Is that why you hate it?"

"I have no freedom," the man answered. "I am a puppet of fate, meant to act on its behest. I do what it shows me, whether I like it or not. I thought I had escaped this life, but… fate wasn't done with me."

Starsight controlled her emotions. "Did fate ask you to protect it?" she asked. "Is that why you helped me see the future? To learn of the threat we have among us? To learn that if we don't do something, it will end?"

"All things must end at some point. There is but one true immortality in this universe, and none of us have it," the Divination God said. "The reason I showed you what I did is not for you to see the end or stop it from happening. It is because fate requires that you see it."

"Fate… requires me to see it?" Starsight asked, confused.

"Yes," the Divination God said. "And it needs you to see this as well."

Starsight felt the power of divination fall onto her as it consumed her fully. She began divining once again, this time of a very different future than the one she had seen before.

This time, she saw what would happen to the world if Alex were to die here today.

"He's out there somewhere," the Winter God whispered to the Storm God. "I'm sure I sensed him earlier, but I can't find his location."

"There's a reason he's managed to hide from us for so many eons. He's good at hiding," the Storm God said. "But he is hidden no longer. I'm surprised he decided to show himself here today. Not to mention, he decided to help with divining at that. I was certain he hated it."

The Winter God frowned. What was that man up to? She couldn't imagine just what was happening here.

"Something doesn't sit right with me," she said. "I think I'll abstain from making any decision. I'll let the rest decide for themselves as well."

The Storm God nodded. "Let us just wait and see what happens."

The Alchemy God moved toward Grimsight. "I will stop the Sword God. You go defend him from the rest. You are better than me in that regard."

Grimsight looked at the Alchemy God for a moment and nodded.

He dashed toward Alex and arrived before him. Silvermist, Alex, and Pearl had nowhere to go, so they were standing at the center doing nothing.

"It'll be alright," Grimsight said. "We'll save you somehow."

As he spoke, Grimsight felt his spear quiver a little. He looked down at his spear and then toward a young man that slowly approached him.

Grimsight frowned.

It was difficult to use his weapon in the presence of the Weapons God.
