Entertainment: Starting as a Succubus, Taking Hollywood by Storm

Chapter 331: Chapter 337: Elizabeth’s Little Schemes

Amid the media buzz about Martin's heroic rescue, the Pirates of the Caribbean crew had already left Dominica and moved to their new filming location: San Pedro.

San Pedro was a strategically important site, located 30 kilometers south of Los Angeles and near two critical American ports—Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Post-9/11, the area had been used for several anti-terrorism drills.

The crew planned to film sea battle scenes in the San Pedro harbor. Originally, they had hoped to use the massive tank in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico, where Titanic and Pearl Harbor had been filmed, but that facility had already been booked by the production of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.

Martin had about a week of filming left, which meant he could finish his work before September—a rare bit of relief in his busy schedule.

At the Disney studio lot, a large water tank had been set up. Inside, Keira Knightley sat in a small boat, ready to film the scene where the governor's daughter sets off in a rowboat to find Will.

This was the final scene to be filmed.

To avoid any more dangerous incidents like the one in Dominica, the producers decided to move all remaining small boat scenes to the controlled environment of the studio.

Around the water tank, two lifeguards kept a close eye on the proceedings to ensure nothing went wrong.

Fortunately, the scene wrapped up smoothly. The poor girl didn't have to endure another scare, and the crew was spared any further drama.

"Hello, Elizabeth?"

"Hello, Martin. Am I bothering you?"

"That doesn't sound like the Elizabeth I know."

Martin, having finished his scenes, wasn't in a rush to leave the set. He was waiting for Keira.

The two had a dinner date planned for the evening.

While waiting, he received a call from Elizabeth Olsen.

There was a hint of sadness in her tone as she said, "Martin, I called you a few days ago, but your phone was off. Ashley said it's because you've forgotten about me!"

"Don't listen to Ashley. How could I ever forget my little Elizabeth?" Martin replied with a laugh. "I had to turn off my phone because reporters were calling non-stop."

Hearing Martin's explanation, the voice on the other end brightened. "Really? I knew it! Hehe!"

"Martin, did you know Mary's been crying a lot lately? She broke up with her boyfriend again."

"Martin, I saw the video of you saving Keira in the ocean. You were amazing—you're a hero!"

"Martin, I actually think it's good that Mary broke up. Her boyfriend was just a small-time model who was probably only with her for her fame and money. He was secretly meeting other models, and Mary caught him."

"Martin…"

Perhaps it had been too long since they last spoke—Elizabeth seemed especially chatty.

At 13 years old, Elizabeth was at the age where she was beginning to develop feelings, and the most impressive man in her life was Martin.

Martin patiently responded to her, indulging her need to talk.

Just then, he heard Mary Olsen's voice in the background. "Elizabeth, who are you on the phone with?"

"It's Anna, my science project partner. We're discussing how to make our volcano project erupt with flames."

"Alright, let me know if you need help. I can call some of my prop master friends for advice."

"Oh, thanks, Mary. You're the best!"

The sisters' exchange made Martin chuckle on the other end. This little girl is getting more and more cunning, he thought.

Unlike her two older sisters, who had grown up in the entertainment industry, Elizabeth had led a more typical childhood.

Despite having two celebrity sisters and a mother connected to Hollywood, Elizabeth lived the life of an ordinary girl—going to school, doing homework, visiting amusement parks, and enjoying fast food. She was as fresh and lively as a dewy morning rose.

To Martin, Elizabeth had a purity that stood out starkly against the backdrop of Hollywood.

In the entertainment world, even child stars often lost their innocence quickly.

Stars like Natalie Portman and Drew Barrymore had grown up learning to navigate the ruthless industry with savvy and strategy.

Many child stars, exposed too early to adult temptations and cutthroat competition, ended up with troubled lives—substance abuse, alcoholism, or other scandals.

Jessica, Scarlett, and Lindsay had avoided such pitfalls because they had met Martin early on and were shielded from the worst influences.

Wait, Martin thought, perhaps it's more accurate to say they grew into the kind of people I wanted them to be.

"Martin? Are you still there?"

"Of course, Elizabeth. Was that your sister Mary just now?"

"Oh, yes. She's been so annoying lately. Ever since she broke up with her boyfriend, she's been asking me about any boys I might know. But I'm not like her—I wouldn't pick the wrong guy!"

Elizabeth giggled. "Martin, don't forget, you promised that when I grow up, I can be your girlfriend!"

"Of course, how could I forget?"

Martin almost instinctively replied with a flirtatious remark but stopped himself just in time. To avoid any potential controversy, he quickly changed the subject.

"Are you working on a science project with your friend? A volcano? Having trouble with it?"

Elizabeth, still a child at heart, immediately shifted her focus to the new topic.

"Yes! My partner Anna and I are making a volcano that can erupt with flames. We've built the structure with heat-resistant materials, but we can't figure out how to make it erupt. The teacher won't let us use gunpowder—she has no idea how hard that makes things!"

Martin paused for a moment, then said, "Why not try using alcohol?"

"Oh, why didn't I think of that? Martin, you're a genius!"

Her enthusiasm made Martin laugh. Praise from a young girl like Elizabeth, so genuine and pure, was oddly heartwarming.

After chatting a bit longer, Martin noticed Keira emerging, ready to leave. He said goodbye to Elizabeth and hung up.

Back in her room, Elizabeth muttered to herself, "That was a woman's voice I heard. It must be Keira. Martin saved her, and he's so handsome—she must have thrown herself at him!"

"Ugh, why haven't I grown up yet? So frustrating!"

Then she picked up the phone again. "Hey, Anna. Did you get the alcohol I asked for?"

"Great! Tomorrow we'll test how much we need for the eruption."

Clearly, Elizabeth had already known about using alcohol. She had just wanted an excuse to talk to Martin and flatter him.

Though not as jaded as most Hollywood kids, even 13-year-old Elizabeth was starting to develop a few clever little schemes!
