Ending The Wicked Love

My name is Im Hyemi, an ordinary 16 year old high school student. Now, I’m at a bookstore because my brother told me to buy him a new novel. While looking for the book he requested, I came across an interesting book, ‘Throne of Kevalon’. I don’t know what got into me because I’m not a person who likes to read, moreover I have to get ready for school in two days. I don’t have time to read a novel. Even so, I decided to buy 2 books, one for me and one for my brother. I paid for the two books and then went home.

“Heejun, this is your book.” I said while giving the book that my brother asked for.
“Thank you, noona (older sister).” He took the book and ran into his room to read the book.
“Gosh, that kid really is a nerd. It’s a good thing you’re not like him, Hyemi.”

I smiled at my mother and went into my room. I changed my clothes and started reading the only book that caught my attention. On the first page, there are complete introductions of the characters, in fact, it is too detailed, so I have a bit of trouble memorizing them. Anyway, the main characters are Prince Luciano and Francesca who will later become the king and queen of the Kingdom of Kevalon. While the cast who became the ‘antagonist’ were Prince Lawrence, Duke Lysander and other side characters. Page after page I read, until I realized that it was time for me to sleep. Finally, I closed the book and fell asleep.

The next day, I read the novel from day to night, I just can’t stop myself from spending the entire day reading it. The hours flew by and finally I finished the book, but unexpectedly, I burst into tears. The characters who opposed Prince Luciano ascension to the throne were killed one by one. What’s worse is that Francesca, who was Duke Lysander’s fiance, killed him because her family supported Prince Luciano in secret and she had actually been Prince Luciano’s lover.

However, ever since the Prince became the king, he often neglected his duty and only cared about his love for Francesca. He also stepped down from the throne to live together with Francesca in another kingdom and live a happy ending that was only for the two of them. Of course, in this story, it didn’t look as tragic, but when viewed from another perspective, the protagonist is very selfish. If it was going to end like this, why should there be a war for the throne? All the blood that has been shed is all in vain. The author of this book really wants to make the readers flaming with anger. I said angrily, “Instead of Prince Luciano, why not Prince Lawrence or Duke Lysander be the main characters. Did the author write it wrong? This story is so messed up. Ahhh if only I could change the course of this story.” But I can’t help it, there’s no way I can switch dimensions and prevent this tragic ending. I was exhausted from reading for hours and fell asleep while holding the book.
But fate seems to be playing tricks on me, because the next day…
