Chapter 28: Bystier’s Evolution: Spiritual vibration Resonance
Anemone coughed as she continued hyperventilating. Her once-green aura began dimming out before it dissipated. I can finally relax for a moment, she thought, my spirit Zephyr art was able to inflict damage as that lion doesn't know spirit magic so it couldn't defend itself. I am glad that was the case, I didn't have to rely on prime visualization again. Let my body relax before I reassume my magic release state again.
The bystier had fallen, belly down as the flames from its mane were extinguished. The flame from its tail burnt brightly as it tried to reignite its flames to form the mane once more. Nice try, but I did send quite a bit of magic into your system. It may not be enough to completely fracture your nodes and kill you but it should still be enough to prevent your effective use of magic. Your recovery won't be as effective as before.
She made it back to her feet before clutching her left shoulder. Now, I just have to wait for Walter. With the amount of magic that I am sensing from both the sky and the ground, he should be just about ready.
The water from the hot spring began bubbling as it began producing a lot of steam. The ground beneath her begun overheating as she wondered what was happening. What must have changed?
The lion's magic grew unstable as from the coiling of the roots that bounded that isolated area came a red aura. The size of the area bounded by the aura began to reduce as it drew closer to her. I need to get out of here, I don't know what that will do? She tried to reassume her magic release state much to no avail. Her aura just simply wouldn't form.
I guess that I exhausted most of the magic in my body. I still have ten blades left so I should be able to absorb magic from at least one of them. As she was thinking, the area suddenly stopped shrinking. Aura moved from the edges as it began entering the bystier's body. The lion roared as its flesh begun burning.
One of her blades reverted back to a bracelet piece before joining the others and completing her bracelet. "Wind Art: Rampaging Blades; Fragmented Scrutiny." She closed her eyes as she dedicated all her attention on trying to analyze what was happening.
Wait, Let's see, the lion's magic has become unstable. Was it because I sent quite a bit of magic into its system? I guess that could have been the case. I mean, foreign magic does insight a reaction. Usually, if the dosage is severe, the magic in the host rampages as an attempt to force it out. Just like when I lost control of my magic when I ate that fruit. Does that mean, its experiencing the same thing?
No, no, no…. I don't think this is the same. The lion roared as all its wounds begun closing up. Usually, magic pours outwards but right now…right now its pouring into it. It's the same as the bystier formation process. But it is already a bystier…does that mean its undergoing some kind of evolution. Her blades hovered over it as they flew as close to the flames as they possibly could without being caught by them.
So that's how resonance happens, the rate of spiritual vibrations by the Divine spot and the animal or plant have to be the same. Its magic is growing significantly. But it's a shame though, my magic hasn't left its system. It must have to do with the fact that I used non physical magic earlier. Physical Magic just can't compete or force a clash between them. They are not on the same plain after all.
She jumped back before she saw a flaming arrow heading her way. She held up her right hand as it began releasing a gale. "Wind Art: Sudden Impulse." An arrow from its tail. How is it in pain and still able to form projectiles.
The arrow got close to her hand before she released the gale. The arrow and the gale engaged in a clash of magic were attempting to push each other back. She increased her wind output just enough to be able to over power the arrow. She deflected it, shifting its trajectory just enough to avoid it hitting her.
Eh…..I used non physical magic just now. There was no way for a clash to happen if it used physical magic. Does that mean, this thing just learnt spirit magic. But why can it suddenly do it now. Don't tell me…
The flames that covered it dispelled as it released a gale. It learned spirit magic from me. The magic I put in it, it completely dispelled it. So its magic evolved because my magic was hindering it. Being hit by spirit magic must have been the barrier it had to overcome. I provided the sample and it learned from it. Right now, I absolutely can't get hit. If it can use spirit magic my advantage might as well not exist. Everything will be reduced to clashes unless I use prime visualization.
The flames that formed its mane still hadn't rekindled. It released a volley of arrows at her from its tail. "Temporal Overdrive." She muttered before she jumped over the aura. She then begun running around the battlefield to avoid the arrow. She jumped, using her wind to glide in the air. She used her wind to project her downwards. As soon as she made contact with the ground, her eyes rolled to her right before she saw a paw covered by flames sliding against the ground.
Her nine blades aligned themselves beside her and generated a gust of wind between her and it. Please! Just don't be physical magic right now! She exclaimed as the paw met her blades. The wind and the flames clashed before she was sent sliding against the ground. Dust rose as she attempted to slow herself down. She then crashed in the coiling of roots.
It wagged its tail before it aimed it in her direction. The flames turned to aura before flames began materializing in front of them. She coughed before another of her blades reverted back to a bracelet piece and begun forming a bracelet on her other wrist. That thing is stronger now.
When she looked ahead, she saw flames gathering at its tail. I am down to eight blades. I can't block it.
She forced herself back up before jumping on the coiling of roots. She stumbled and fell to her knees before she continued coughing. Damn it….some of its magic got in my system. I need to focus, temporal overdrive. She continued coughing before her aura dimmed out before reforming again. I am way past my limit at this point. I just have to wait for Walter and then…and then ….create an opening.
It released a flaming arrow at her. She jumped out of way before falling to the ground. The arrow phased through the trees as it headed deeper in the forest. Wait…how come I feel as if it is heading my way? Screw it…I got careless…its heading for Walter.
She clutched the grass as the magic covering her hand increased. I don't need my left hand. Its already damaged right? They just have to be safe. Tears ran down her face as she said, "Wind Art: Rampaging Blades; Spirit Zephyr!"
She groaned in pain as her entire arm was hit by a wave of pain. She couldn't so much as twitch a finger anymore. The went deeper into the forest when Walter saw it. He grabbed the boy with his left hand. He then thought, 'I need to focus on the task at hand. I can't just relinquish all the charge I have gathered. I am taking this thing one.
The bracelet piece that was floating beside the boy transformed into a blade right in front of them. It then released a massive gust of wind that clashed with the magic of the arrow. Holy crap! Her magic made its way here. Did she know that something like this was going to happen before hand? The wind and flames clashed as either side tried to push back.
The boy blinked before his pupils, once round, become slit, like those of a cat. He could see past the wall of trees and into the area where she was fighting. She was desperately trying to make it back to her feet. He remembered seeing a pool of flames where he was once required to sleep. It burns…he thought…but I could never see the burns…it hurt so much but there was never any wound. I had to sleep there everyday. I never want to go back there.
His body began releasing a white aura as white flames coated his hands.
"Are You Scared?" He heard a voice call to him, "Are you terrified, Nyambe? You can see, Can't you? She will die…Then you will. And then, it will be him next. Do you want it….Power so that you won't die."
He held out his hand as he looked at the sky. His vision saw right above the clouds, higher into the atmosphere. He saw a martial eagle made of flames, blue and red flames.
"Who are you?"
"I am a Flame....Open your body to me…and your flames shall save them and you as well."
"Huh."
"Your flames have no properties. They can't burn a thing. "
He saw a feather fall on his forehead. It then sipped into his body as it was made of blue flames. "Dream Scape." He heard before he begun seeing more and more flames. He was standing at the very center.
He fell to the ground before he begun crying. Help me.. Help me! His silent plea turned to desperate screams as the flames grew hotter. His teeth sharpened as his nails grew in size. They were like the sharp claws of a vulture.
Walter was watching the clash of magic when he looked towards the boy only to notice that he was covered in white flames. "What…the…hell is happening?" He is covered in flames but they aren't hot at all. If anything, I don't think these flames even exist.
He scratched against the ground with his sharp claws but he couldn't escape the flames. From them, a girl emerged. The tips of her hair were red as the rest of it was black. She had red glowing eyes and wore a mask covered by flaming feather masks.
"Do you want…to leave this place? I can take you away from here…if you take my hand?" The tips of her hair changed to bright blue before she grabbed his hand. "I want to leave this place…please!"
The wind being generated by the blade begun reducing as the arrow began drawing much closer. The white flame that coated his hand became died in blue as to him, he saw the girl embrace him. The mask that covered her face began de-materializing. "Thank you," she whispered.
He released a stream of blue flames that scattered all the magic that surrounded them. Not only did the wind get dispelled but also the flames. The flames that surrounded him disappeared as she did as well. He then fell to the ground. Unconscious.
The martial eagle then took off heading south of Redstar.
Anemone got back to her feet when she saw another arrow hearing her way. "Prime," she coughed, "Visualization; Rampaging Blades; Absolute Inversion!" Four of her blades aligned themselves in front of her as she pushed her hand through it. The flames clashed with the wind that her blades were releasing before it turned to ice. The pieces of ice fell to the ground. She fell to her knees as she struggled to catch her breath.
Walter raised his hand as at the center of his palm was a small white sphere. It had a radius of roughly 30cm. He shouted, "Anemone! I am ready!!!!" The silver glow in his eyes became more prominent as he prepared to dash forward.
"WAIT!!!!"
"Huh.."
"WAIT FOR YOUR CHANCE!! I DON'T WANT YOU TO MISS!!"
He sighed before he jumped closer to the battlefield. He stood on a branch on one of the trees. He could see her struggling to make it back to her feet. As the lion gathered flames at the tip of its tail.
"KANO AND I WASTED TOO MUCH ENERGY FOR YOU NOT TO FINISH IT. AS PROMISED, WE WILL GENERATE THE OPENING. JUMP IN AND STRIKE THEN OKAY!!!"
Four of her blades transformed back to bracelet pieces. I can't use Remnant Chaos anymore. I don't have enough magic to maintain that condensed field. I need a way to analyze its vibrations so that I can use prime visualization again. I will just use my eyes. They are sensory organs after all. I will enhance them so that I can see all the magic again. Her eyes changed to golden as one of her blades reverted back to normal. My eyes feel like they are about to pop.
"WALTER!!! PAY ATTENTION OKAY?!!!!"
