During the Dark Ages

Colin POV

After I killed the ghoul, I watch the battle of Alice and Synthia vs the undead horde. Unsurprisingly Synthia was easily killing the undeads while Alice seemed to be struggling a bit but I refused to help her. She needed to learn to fight on her own and become stronger and me helping her defeats the purpose of that. I watched as she she blocked her opponents first strike and then dodge the second by rolling out of the way. I was impressed when she slashed open the undeads spine incapacitating it for a second, I wonder how she knew that would work. After she killed the undead I saw demon miasma rise from the ground and cover her in a cocoon, I guess she's evolving good for her. I then flew down to the cocoon and took up my sword that fell to the ground.

Then I flew over to Synthia who was finishing off the last five undeads.

"Need any help?" I asked while floating mid air.

"No." She said and then she released a torrent of pale golden flames from her hand incinerating them.

"Nice." I said with a smile.

"Can you handle clean up I need to make sure that everyone inside the mansion is alright." She said and then flew off towards the mansion. I nodded and then started my clean up job immediately. I conjured a fireball in my hand and unlike the last time my [Hell Fire] looked a bit red instead of just dark orange. I released a stream of fire onto the unmoving corpses and I noticed that my flames have gotten stronger than before and soon all the corpses were reduced to ashes.

I activated [Aura Vision] to search for any stray undeads that might be lurking around and I saw something surprising or rather I didn't see something. I deactivated the skill and flew over towards the cocoon and reactivate it and just like before I didn't see anything. I didn't see a red aura or any aura at all just a grey object. So I can't see the aura of those who are evolving that's good to know. With nothing else to do I sat down beside the cocoon and waited for Alice to finish her evolution.

Synthia POV

I flew towards the mansion and once I flew through the holy barrier I couldn't help but sigh in relief as I felt the holy energy embrace my body. I walked into the mansion and soon found everyone huddled up in the hall scared out of there mind.

"Lady Synthia are you injured? Is everything alright outside?" Asked Claire worriedly as she ran towards me along with her two friend, uhm, Roxy and Tim.

"Don't worry I'm fine. Luckily our Demon friend came to our rescue or I don't know what would have happened." I replied

"Colin helped you, my lady." Roxy said

"Told you he wasn't a bad guy." Tim said looking at Claire and she just huffed and turn her face away. These three were really amusing, hopefully I can get them to become priests soon.

"Either way, all of the undeads have been killed so it's safe to go outside now. I would suggest that you guys continue your cultivation as well because I can assure you this will not be the last attack." I said and walked towards my own chambers.

"Thank you, lady Synthia." The three of them said as I walked away.

I went into my bedroom and took a bath, put on a fresh set of clothes and fell face first onto my bed, this was nice. I could feel the holy energy all around me much different from outside where I could only sense demonic energy everywhere.

'I still have a long way to go.' I thought and then sat in a lotus position on my bed and golden particles started floating towards me.

Colin POV

*Crack*

I saw the cocoon crack and it's shards started to fall to the ground turning back into black mist. Alice got up off the ground, she looked at me and I was staring at her.

"What?" She asked and I wished I had mirror right now.

"You have wings on your back." And not just wings, her eyes were glowing a deep red colour, her skin was a bit pale and she had two fangs jutting out of her upper jaw.

At my reply she looked behind her and saw the two wings in her back and started to panic a bit. Her wings were red and bat like but they were a bit smaller than mine and she didn't have a tail.

"Calm down, everything will be fine. You can turn it off, just check your status." She visibly calmed down after hearing what I said and then I saw her stare at air and I guessed she was reading her status.
