Chapter 92: The Wolf Den
She could never understand Leonhardt at first, nor Asuka's attraction to him. Maybe this was denial after all—everything started when she met him at the bar. Her curiosity, her fixation. It started from the moment she sipped on the sweet Papillion made from the same disgusting Chrysa her mother used to love.
After all, it was the first time she had found a man that piqued her interest.
'What's happening?'
Enjoying the warmth of Leonhardt's mana, she grasped tight and savoured the tingling sensation. Then, greedily, she started sucking his mana... and instantly moaned.
"Nn! It's so hot."
Glancing at his figure, Sylvie sighed and allowed herself to enjoy the moment. Warm or monstrous, she was determined to accept—her mana core demanded it.
"I should have known you wouldn't let me down. Who knew the cutest little elf would be so resilient and trustworthy."
Sylvie started up at Leonhardt's imposing figure, almost dreaming, before his soft hand brushed against her cheek and woke her up.
"Nn. It's so comfortable."
Hugging her shoulders and humming, Sylvie endured the changes and stood up. The feeling in her stomach, refreshed with the amount of mana flowing within her—a sensation that she might never have enjoyed without him—without Leonhardt.
"I will do whatever you wish. This gift... I cannot forget it."
She reached out, cupping his cheeks while stood on her tiptoes, the short elf's cheeks turning pink from embarrassment. Yet she didn't falter, watching Leonhardt's face and reactions. Then, with a soft smile, she staggered and collapsed into his chest, wrapped in his embrace.
"You only need to do what makes you happy, Sylvie."
His voice, soothing and low, echoed in her mind, allowing her excited senses to calm down.
Asuka approached from his side, a concerned look on her face.
"Will she be alright?"
Leonhardt leaned his head against Sylvie's soft crown, tilting towards her, noting the hint of jealous from the deep red scales on her neck and cheeks. Even her usual kimono looked messy, full of dirt and leaves.
"She will be fine, what about you? Can you accept what I did?"
Asuka's face looked shocked before she cleared her throat.
"I will accept anything."
Then she scratched her cheek, closing her eyes and lifting the corner of her mouth, adding:
"As long as you don't throw me away... that is."
Leonhardt's expression instantly changed from curious to affectionate. He looked at Asuka with glowing eyes, now with a primal hunger.
"Then what if I make this kingdom mine, slaughter all those against me?"
Asuka's shoulders jumped, but her eyes remained on Leonhardt.
"I will join you in slaughter."
Leon's smile grew visibly wider and more twisted.
"Come."
Then, with a swift motion, Asuka stopped hesitating and rushed into his arms.
"I am going to make you the strongest and most lovely dragonoid in existence."
A low, whispered growl entered Asuka's ear as he lifted her body off the ground and tightly hugged her body close to his.
"I'm all yours."
She replied as he rushed through the forest.

The Alpha wolf suffered from the moment Leonhardt created this plan, her young children culled daily by the dark elves. He framed the humans, having Nyxara kill humans who strayed too far and placing their scene on the corpses.
A beast with intelligence could be terrifying—however, when that beast lacked the same cognitive function as a human and came to half-baked conclusions. It could create devastating consequences for both the human and the beast itself. Of course, by the time it realised what had happened, it would be too late—not that knowing sooner would stop Leonhardt's plan.
When the alpha wolf became enraged and started attacking all living creatures in the forest, it was already over for the beast. No monsters would follow such a tyrant into battle. The weaker monsters hid deeper, seeking the ember goblins in the north.
Leonhardt's plan was almost perfect, a dark and cunning plot to use a monster to further his goals.
In the end, this was a simple plan, and now he would come and create a false hero.
The fallen villagers, clueless about the bigger picture, would worship Sylvie and accept her as their saviour and with that solidifying the Crimson Hawks as a village treasure allowing Leonhardt to brainwash them without worry.
A small plot formed from Leonhardt's desire to rule the basin.

A few minutes later, Asuka was swooning while Leonhardt carried the sleepy elf in his arms. Soon the thick scent of beasts, blood and rotting meat filled their noses, pungent and disgusting, yet neither curled their noses or complained. The wolf's den looked ruined, broken weapons, human body's half mangled, killed for sport, not food. A small cave in the southern reaches of the Ember forest, dug into the ground likely an old goblin enclave of some sort.
Asuka didn't care about the scent or ghastly visuals. The only thing she could see was Leonhardt's handsome face and how much she enjoyed this side of him.
'Is it because I am a monster now, or is this a dragon's pride in her mate?'
At last, Leonhardt stopped just north of the den, and he placed Sylvie down before tapping her plump cheeks.
He had a soft yet stern look on his beautiful face.
"Wake up, princes. You will need to kill the alpha wolf alone. Can you do it for me?"
Sylvie yawned, stretched her arms, and blinked a few times before cracking her neck from side to side.
"Sylvie!"
Leonhardt's eyes narrowed, his thumb brushing across her soft lips.
"Can you do it?"
She gazed up at him, smiling as if in a dream before rubbing through his hair, enjoying the feeling of his long wavy locks.
"I can."
As she spoke, her words were soft and quiet, but there was an intensity within them.
"Then, show me what you can do. I will be watching."
Knowing that Leonhardt would be watching her fight the alpha wolf only made Sylvie more excited. Her mana was overflowing, wild and untamed. She needed to vent this mana, and she knew the best way to vent it—fight.
"Don't push yourself too hard."
Asuka scoffed, her eyes averting slowly but her affection towards the elf clear by the hand gripping her axe tight—ready to jump in at a moment's notice.
Sylvie nodded, once again turning to Leon for a last glimpse of his face and expression, curious about why he chose her instead of Erina. A sense of misguided superiority swelled in her core.
"Listen carefully, Sylvie. The wolf will try to trick you, to make you overconfident. Remember: Never go easy on your opponent—always go for the kill!"
"Even if it's you?"
Leonhardt just stared at her with a smile.
"Especially if it's me!"
"Ah."
The building excitement in her abdomen and his fierce yet intense gaze only made her want him more. For the first time, Sylvie understood the words of previous friends and the basic need called lust, and with that, she stood up.
"I will do anything you ask me."
Her eyes sparkled, her cheeks pink with a flush, and she looked up at him with longing before turning away and stepping forward.
"So watch me!"
A small elf with long blue hair, filled with confidence and the desire to overcome her past, grasped a frigid shard of ice...
Eyes filled with the cold intent to kill.
