Dragon Ball: The Legendary Reincarnation

Chapter 17: Returning to the Earth, and the city of the west

Sitting in the lotus position on a vast plain covered with green grass, on a small, solitary planet, he remained serene.

His spiky black hair contrasted with the tranquility of his expression, while his dark eyes reflected determination.

His body, though small, standing at only 1.3 meters tall, showcased well-defined muscles, evidence of the arduous training he had endured.

He wore a dark jacket over a deep blue vest, complemented by a white chest plate. His cargo pants, along with white boots and gloves, completed a functional, resilient outfit fit for the rigors of intense training.

The time he had spent in this place had been extremely productive. He felt stronger, more powerful—perhaps even more so than Goku during the Saiyan Saga.

However, there was no way to be sure. His scouter had failed at a critical moment, making it impossible to accurately measure his power.

The truth was that he had been careless during his training with Kaio-ken. While concentrating on pushing his limits, he had neglected the device, which remained active and failed to handle the sudden energy surge. Its display froze with the message: Overload. Failure.

Now, without a functional scouter and no access to a Kili meter, he remained uncertain about the true extent of his power.

Kaelor had spent an entire year in Otherworld. His training there had been intense and productive, but he knew he had reached a limit. To continue improving, he would need to challenge his body in even more extreme ways. It was time to return to Earth.

Bidding a respectful farewell to King Kai, Kaelor set off toward Snake Way.

This time, however, it wouldn't be a simple journey. Determined to push his boundaries, he decided to complete the route walking on his hands, staying upside down the entire way.

When he landed at the start of Snake Way, he took a deep breath. Stretching his body vertically and balancing on the palms of his hands, he prepared for the monumental challenge he had imposed on himself.

Stronger and faster than ever, Kaelor set a clear goal: reach the end of Snake Way in no more than 90 days.

To achieve this, he planned to alternate between Kaio-ken 2x and Kaio-ken 3x, using them to boost his speed but stopping to rest whenever necessary. Mentally ready for the difficulty, he began the journey.

As Kaelor progressed, a telepathic conversation unfolded back on King Kai's planet.

"Enma Daioh, Kaelor is returning to Earth. He expects to complete the journey in 90 days. Please be ready to receive him and allow him to return to the world of the living."

Wanting to stay on good terms with King Kai, Enma Daioh readily agreed.

"Of course, King Kai. I'll be waiting for him. You can leave it to me."

With his path charted and support secured, Kaelor pressed on, determined to surpass his limits and achieve a new level of power.

In his grand desk drawer, Enma Daioh pulled out a hidden telephone, dialed a number quickly, and waited patiently.

On Earth, on a paradisiacal beach in the South, a peculiar scene was taking place. Uranai was sound asleep on her floating crystal ball when the tranquility was abruptly interrupted by an unexpected sound.

"Baby, baby, oh!"

Awakening to the irritating tune, Uranai answered the call, clearly annoyed, and retorted with bitterness:

"I hope you have an excellent reason for ruining my vacation!"

On the other end of the line, Enma Daioh furrowed his brow, visibly irritated at her attitude.

"Your grandson, or whatever he is to you, is returning from Snake Way in 90 days. Be here to pick him up!"

Without showing any sense of urgency, Uranai raised an eyebrow and asked, in a careless tone:

"Is he bringing me a souvenir?"

Enma Daioh was visibly disconcerted by the question.

"You're not even slightly curious to know if he managed to cross Snake Way and train with King Kai?"

"No."

Ninety days later, at the beginning of Snake Way, Kaelor paced back and forth, his face marked by a mix of exhaustion and irritation.

"Where the hell is that short old hag?" he muttered, glancing around suspiciously. "Isn't she supposed to be here to take me back to Earth?"

While Kaelor was lost in gloomy thoughts, Uranai suddenly appeared, emerging from an ethereal portal glowing brightly behind her.

"Hey there! All good? Ready to go?" Uranai asked with a carefree tone and a playful smile.

Kaelor shot her an irritated glare, in complete contrast to her lightheartedness, and stepped into the portal without a word, vanishing from Otherworld.

Upon arriving at Uranai's old palace, he wasted no time. Gathering his ki, he immediately set off, flying toward the spaceship he had left in the forest.

Watching him disappear into the horizon, Uranai murmured to herself in her usual teasing tone:

"Ungrateful boy... Not even a little souvenir from Otherworld for his dear grandmother."

Flying over the vast forest where he had "parked" his spaceship, Kaelor stopped to observe the dense canopy of trees. Frowning, he realized he couldn't quite remember where exactly he had left his ship.

"Great. Just great. Where is that damn spaceship?" he muttered, frustrated. "All I can see is forest everywhere!"

After pondering for a moment, Kaelor took a deep breath and concluded:

"Well, there's no law prohibiting me from using fire magic to clear a small part of this forest..."

Raising his hands, he conjured intense flames that quickly spread through the area, consuming trees as he searched for his ship.

Finally, he spotted the vessel and sighed in relief.

"Found it!" he exclaimed, and then conjured water magic to extinguish the fire he had caused.

With the ship secured, he entered and took off, heading toward West City.

In the outskirts of the city, he discreetly landed the ship. Preferring a less flashy approach, he left the vehicle and flew to the rooftop of a nearby building.

Calmly, he descended the stairs to the avenue, blending in with the civilians like any other person.

When he reached the unmistakable rounded structure of Capsule Corporation, he paused for a moment to take in the imposing building.

Despite his usual confidence, he felt hesitant.

"How should I approach them?" he asked himself. "I've never talked to anyone in the Brief family… and I didn't even schedule a meeting."

After a moment of reflection, he shrugged. "Well, whatever. Standing here thinking isn't going to help. Better to act."

Adopting his usual calm demeanor, he walked with firm steps toward the building's entrance.

As he reached the glass door, he knocked with determination, ready to face whatever came next.

Suddenly, the glass shattered, catching Kaelor off guard.

"Did I use that much force?" he wondered, scratching his head.

Seeing that the "door" had opened for him, he didn't worry and entered the building with determined steps.

He had barely taken a few steps when he was quickly surrounded by security guards, all dressed in black and holding machine guns now pointed directly at him.

"Who are you? Identify yourself and raise your hands!" one of the men demanded firmly.

Kaelor, maintaining his composure, raised his hands and smiled.

"I'm Kaelor. I've come to speak with Dr. Brief."

The atmosphere grew tense, with several minutes of heated discussion as the guards evaluated the situation. Finally, Dr. Brief himself appeared, drawn by the commotion. Dressed in his signature white lab coat, he walked with the calmness of someone who had seen it all.

"Relax, gentlemen," the scientist said, pulling his hands out of his pockets. Adjusting his glasses, he studied Kaelor with curiosity. "So, you're Mr. Kaelor. What is it you want?"

Kaelor smiled confidently but kept his tone polite.

"I'd like to make a request."

Dr. Brief raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "And what request would that be?"

"Well, it's a few things," Kaelor replied with a slight grin. "But could we talk somewhere more private? I don't like being the center of attention… I'm shy, you know?"

The comment left everyone in the room with incredulous expressions. The unspoken thought was practically unanimous:

"A shy person causes this kind of commotion?"

Dr. Brief stifled a laugh and nodded. "Of course, come with me."

Kaelor grabbed his backpack and followed him to a private room, escorted by security guards.

Before entering, they conducted a thorough scan to ensure he wasn't carrying any weapons. Satisfied, they allowed Kaelor to proceed.

Inside the room, he settled on a comfortable red sofa and opened his backpack, pulling out two items: a four-star Dragon Ball and a Scouter. Placing them on the table in front of him, he began:

"I'd like to ask for a few things, Dr. Brief. First, for you to create a tracker to locate these spheres. Second, I'd like you to fix and upgrade this Scouter. Also, I'd love to receive tutoring in technical and scientific knowledge—I'm very interested in the field."

Dr. Brief examined the items carefully, immediately recognizing the Dragon Ball and the Scouter, technologies that piqued his interest.

"Interesting," he murmured, adjusting his glasses. "And what else?"

Kaelor continued, his tone more enthusiastic:

"Lastly, I have a space capsule. I'd like your help to create a ship that will allow me to travel through space."

The scientist's interest was instantly sparked. The idea of working on new technologies was very exciting.

Dr. Brief smiled, nodding approvingly.

"A spaceship, huh? Well, you definitely know how to pique a scientist's curiosity. Alright, Kaelor, we can work on this."

Kaelor smiled, satisfied to have earned the trust and support of the greatest genius in the world.
