Chapter 19: Standing Guard, Waiting for Frieza

Meanwhile, on the central tech planet under Frieza's jurisdiction, an incredibly powerful energy fluctuation detected momentarily on Planet Vegeta caused an uproar in the energy monitoring center.

The warning alarms blared unexpectedly.

"Beep, beep! Wooooo woooooo…"

"What's going on? Why are the alarms sounding? Go check it out!"

"Yes, sir!"

But by the time the operator reached the monitor where the alarm had gone off, the noise had ceased.

"Operator, what just happened?"

"Sir, we briefly detected an extremely strong energy spike from Planet Vegeta, but it disappeared in the blink of an eye!"

"An extremely strong energy spike? What level did it reach?"

"Reporting, sir, the energy spike reached 200 million!"

"What did you say? 200 million? Are you sure you weren't mistaken?"

"Reporting, sir, I… I'm sure! The reading clearly showed an energy level of 200 million!"

"Then why is there no trace of it now?"

"Sir, I… I… I don't know!"

"Enough! Saiyans couldn't possibly have anyone with such high energy levels. Be more cautious in your work next time! Not everyone will be as forgiving as I am!"

What the officer didn't realize was that his dismissal of this anomaly had, in a way, already sealed Frieza's fate.

On Planet Vegeta, the cleansing operation ended swiftly.

Twenty elite warriors and two hundred ordinary soldiers gathered in the Saiyan royal palace, where Saigo seized the opportunity to showcase his strength.

The over two hundred Saiyan soldiers revered Saigo to the point of fanaticism, becoming his loyal followers.

With these fervent followers spreading the word, especially since the former King Vegeta III joined in the efforts, Saigo naturally ascended as the new King of the Saiyans without any objections—no one saw reason to protest.

That evening, every Saiyan on Planet Vegeta indulged in wild celebrations. Some untrained upper-class warriors even transformed into Great Apes and performed hilariously clumsy dances for the crowd.

The Next Morning

The Saiyans on Planet Vegeta, having stayed up all night in excitement, were now fully prepared for battle.

On the roof of the Saiyan royal palace, Saigo stood exasperatedly as King Vegeta III stubbornly insisted on staying to protect him. Despite Saigo's repeated attempts to convince him otherwise, the former king stood firm, forcing Saigo to issue a direct order:

"Vegeta III, as King of the Saiyans, I command you to assist the other clansmen!

I truly don't need your protection here. If a fight breaks out with Frieza, I won't necessarily be able to spare attention to protect you!

Think about it—can you participate in a battle where the combat power exceeds a hundred million?

Even a mere fraction of the battle's shockwaves might be too much for you to handle. Do you understand?"

Saiyans have always been inclined to obey the orders of the strong, especially their king.

Despite Vegeta III's stubbornness, the direct command left him no choice but to comply, albeit with a face that practically screamed reluctance.

"Yes! I obey, Your Majesty! King Saigo, please… take care!"

After learning the previous night that Frieza's true combat power reached a staggering 120 million, Vegeta III and several elite warriors had strongly advocated for Saigo to flee on a spaceship. However, Saigo assured them that transforming into a Super Saiyan would make defeating Frieza as easy as squashing an ant, and he would never recklessly gamble with his life. It was only then that they reluctantly abandoned the idea of sending him away.

Thus, this insistence from Vegeta III to guard Saigo ensued.

"I will. Trust me—I value my life even more than you think!" Saigo reassured him.

Vegeta III solemnly saluted Saigo before turning to leave.

Watching his retreating figure, Saigo couldn't help but reflect, Fate is truly strange. Who would have thought that the once high-and-mighty King Vegeta would now become my subordinate, and an obedient one at that!

"Hmph! Since I've been reborn as a Saiyan, then I'll ensure the Saiyans live up to the name warrior race! Just wait and see!"

With Vegeta III gone, Saigo was finally alone on the rooftop and had time to utilize his system cheat.

With a single thought, the system interface appeared.

Saigo suddenly recalled that he still lacked energy-based attacks and now had a clear goal for his simulation!

He tapped [Start Simulation].

[July 9]: You woke early, awaiting Frieza's arrival.

Before Frieza appeared, Paragus arrived, shouting with joy, reporting that his newborn son Broly had a combat power of 10,000.

Knowing Broly to be the Legendary Super Saiyan, you immediately ordered his isolation for individual training, forbidding him from being raised alongside other infants.

"Oh? Broly's been born? That means Kakarot was born today too!" Saigo exclaimed in delight as he read the first text box. However, upon seeing the words "shouting with joy," he grimaced. "What the heck? Why is he celebrating his son's birth with me? It's not like Broly is my kid!!"

After a moment, Saigo rubbed his chin, narrowing his eyes in thought. "The Legendary Super Saiyan, huh? I'll have to come up with a way to boost Broly's mental stability as soon as possible!"

Clearing his slightly overwhelmed mind, Saigo continued reading.

[July 9, 9:00 AM]: After hours of anxious waiting, Frieza's army finally arrived at Planet Vegeta.

A massive battle broke out immediately. The Saiyan Great Ape army, having prepared extensively, crushed Frieza's forces. Frieza himself attempted to intervene, intending to destroy Planet Vegeta entirely. However, you ambushed him mid-air, launching a full-power strike in your Super Saiyan form and killing him in one blow.

With Frieza dead, the enemy forces lost morale and were quickly annihilated, securing a complete victory for the Saiyans.

Reading this, Saigo relaxed. So the wait wasn't in vain after all!

The reason for the Saiyans' battle readiness was the intel provided by Vegeta III. He revealed that Frieza's forces could reach Planet Vegeta in as little as a day if they launched an attack.

During his reign, Vegeta III had planted a few informants within Frieza's army, though most were eventually exposed and eliminated.
