Douluo: Starting with the Signing in of Goddess Xiaowu

Chapter 879: 860 Emperor Fenghuang and Feng Ya_1

"Pfft!" Upon hearing this, Xiaowu and the others couldn't help but burst into a quiet laugh.

"Don't worry, how could I possibly hold a grudge against him?" replied Chu Qin.

"Then, Emperor Chu Qin, I'll take you to your accommodations. The place has been specially vacated by Lord Qinglong; it's very close to where she is in seclusion," said the Gluttonous Ogre.

"Hold on a moment!"

Just then, an ethereal female voice, full of beauty and grace, rang out. The sound of it gave one the feeling of being caressed by a spring breeze.

It was Feng Ya who had spoken.

Everyone turned their gaze towards Feng Ya.

"I've seen Emperor Chu Qin!"

Feng Ya made a deep bow towards Chu Qin.

"Dispense with the formalities," said Chu Qin with a smile.

"Emperor Chu Qin, hello, my name is Feng Ya, and I am from the Soul Beast Clan," Feng Ya said to Chu Qin with due respect.

"Hmm, do you need something?" asked Chu Qin calmly.

"May I take a bit of your time?" Feng Ya asked. "I would like to speak a few words with your wife."

"Which wife?" inquired Chu Qin.

Feng Ya looked towards Lan Jing'er, "Are you called Lan Jing'er?"

"Yes!" Lan Jing'er nodded, albeit somewhat puzzled.

"My master is Emperor Fenghuang," Feng Ya replied. "She knew you were coming and asked me to wait here for you."

"Wait for me?" asked Lan Jing'er, confused.

"Yes, my master wishes to speak with you," Feng Ya nodded. "Would you, by any chance, accompany me to the Phoenix Hall?"

Upon hearing this, Lan Jing'er looked towards Chu Qin, who then nodded and turned to Feng Ya, "Why don't I accompany Jing'er to the Phoenix Hall."

"That works," Feng Ya nodded in agreement.

Hearing this, Chu Qin turned to Xi E and the others, "Then Xiao'e, Xiaowu, Zi Ji, Er Long, you all follow the Gluttonous Ogre and Yazi to settle down first. I'll follow Jing'er and will be back shortly."

"Go ahead, you two!" Xi E nodded in agreement.

With that, Chu Qin and Lan Jing'er followed Feng Ya, flying towards the Phoenix Hall.

No sooner had Chu Qin and company arrived at the Phoenix Hall than its massive doors, previously closed, opened wide.

"It seems Emperor Chu Qin, my master is already aware of your arrival," Feng Ya said with a charming smile.

"Yes, let's go," Chu Qin nodded.

Leading the two of them, Feng Ya entered the grand hall, and the doors closed behind them once more.

The hall itself seemed no different from any other, featuring a golden screen in the center carved with the image of a phoenix.

Beneath the screen lay the phoenix throne of Emperor Fenghuang.

Feng Ya bowed toward the screen, "Master, Emperor Chu Qin and Lan Jing'er have arrived!"

The next moment, the previously still golden screen ignited with a brilliant flame-red glow, and a fiery red beast's figure flew out from it.

Her appearance was no different from the legendary phoenix depicted in myths.

"Lan Jing'er pays respects to the Phoenix senior!" Lan Jing'er immediately knelt down.

"Stand quickly, Lan Jing'er; we finally meet again," spoke the Phoenix, her voice as beautiful and invigorating as a spring breeze.

"Indeed, senior Phoenix, it's been many years since we parted in Sunset Douluo Continent," Lan Jing'er replied.

"Mm," the Phoenix spoke gently. Then, turning to Chu Qin, "Emperor Chu Qin, you are the one from that minor world who received the Qinglong Bloodline inheritance!"

"Indeed," Chu Qin replied with a slight smile.

"I never expected Azure Dragon's judgment to be so harsh and decisive. Among the countless beings, she chose someone like you to be her successor, and you have not disappointed. In just a few years, you have reached such a level, truly unprecedented and unparalleled," Phoenix praised Chu Qin highly.

"Phoenix, you flatter me," Chu Qin replied with a smile, "You and Azure Dragon have eternally guarded this place for the safety of the entire universe, which I admire. But I wonder, Phoenix, what business do you have with Jing'er?"

"Well then, I won't beat around the bush," Phoenix responded, "I wish to choose Jing'er as my successor, just as Azure Dragon chose you."

"Ah?" both Chu Qin and Lan Jing'er exclaimed with some surprise.

Feng Ya also showed a look of joy.

"Phoenix Senior, are you serious?" asked Lan Jing'er.

"Mmm," Phoenix nodded, "To be honest, I was wounded at the core in a battle with the Extraterritorial Evil Clan, and I can only hide here to heal. Since Azure Dragon can choose a successor, I naturally can as well. Jing'er is someone I acknowledge and now, she has already reached the Semi-step Saint Emperor Realm, qualifying to be my successor."

"Senior, you're not in any danger, are you?" Lan Jing'er asked, her complexion slightly changing upon hearing this.

"Don't worry, I'm fine," Phoenix shook her head, "I won't die easily, and even if I do, I still have one chance for nirvana and rebirth."

Lan Jing'er breathed a sigh of relief.

"Jing'er, are you willing to be my successor?" Phoenix asked.

Upon hearing this, Lan Jing'er looked towards Chu Qin, who gently smiled and said, "Why do you always ask for my opinion?"

"Emperor Chu Qin, your opinion indeed needs to be sought," Phoenix stated, "because once Jing'er becomes my disciple, she will have to stay by my side for much of the time."

Chu Qin paused, then frowned and asked, "Then how much time will Jing'er be able to spend with me someday?"

"It depends on her talent. Every day, I will assign her certain tasks," Emperor Phoenix replied, "I will cultivate her wholeheartedly. I can assure you that within three months, she will reach the Saint Emperor Realm."

Chu Qin paused and then nodded, replying, "Alright then!"

"Chu Qin, you agree?" Lan Jing'er asked with a beaming smile.

Lan Jing'er naturally wanted to be by Chu Qin's side at all times, but she wanted even more to become strong and be of help to Chu Qin.

"Mmm!"

"Master above, receive your disciple's bow!" With Chu Qin's permission, Lan Jing'er immediately knelt and bowed to Phoenix.

"Good, my dear disciple, follow me then," Emperor Phoenix said.

"Now?" asked Lan Jing'er.

"Yes, I need to fully activate the Phoenix Bloodline within you, the sooner the better," Phoenix replied.

"Go ahead!" Chu Qin said, smiling at Lan Jing'er, "I'll wait for you here."

"Alright!" said Lan Jing'er.

Following Emperor Phoenix, she entered the screen.

Chu Qin had long realized that this screen was not ordinary, it was at least an Ancestral Divine Artifact, containing a vast world of fire within.

"Emperor Chu Qin, Jing'er and Emperor Phoenix will take a while longer to come out, please have a seat, I'll make tea for you," Feng Ya said to Chu Qin.

"There's no need for tea," Chu Qin said with a light smile, "Your name is Feng Ya, right?"

"Mmm!" Feng Ya, with a slight nod of her crescent-shaped head.

"You are also from the Soul Beast Clan, what relation do you have with Phoenix?" Chu Qin asked.

"Emperor Phoenix is the ruler of the Soul Beast Clan, naturally my king," Feng Ya replied.

"I thought she was your sister," Chu Qin said with a smile.

"How dare I! How can Feng Ya compare to the great Emperor," Feng Ya hurriedly said.

"Then, that Yang Tian, who is he to you? Boyfriend?" continued Chu Qin.

"No," said Feng Ya, "Emperor Yang Tian is renowned as the most handsome man in Tianmen, the object of many women's affections; how could he be my boyfriend?"

"That doesn't sound right. Gluttonous Ogre said you were uninterested in him," Chu Qin said with a smile.

"It's not a lack of interest," Feng Ya replied, "It's just that Feng Ya is not worthy of him. Emperor Phoenix was injured, and I am only temporarily serving under Emperor Yang Tian. To be honest with you, Lord Chu Qin, and please don't take offense, I am actually not from the Soul Beast Clan of this universe."
