Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Spar with Tang San Part I
Seeing Xiao Tianyang in this state, Tang San couldn't help but feel a wave of concern rise in his heart. He silently thought to himself, 'Tianyang, you must still be in so much pain, right?'
With this thought in mind, Tang San suddenly made a decision. But before he could speak, Xiao Tianyang abruptly sat up, startling him.
"Little Saner, I've made up my mind!' Xiao Tianyang said, his gaze turning serious as he looked toward the rising sun.
"Little San'er?' When Tang San heard this nickname, a faint blush spread across his face, a result of his sudden embarrassment.
During their earlier conversation, Tang San had mentioned what his father used to call him, but he hadn't expected Xiao Tianyang to adopt it with such a change in tone.
Considering their relationship, Tang San didn't offer any objections. Instead, he stood up beside Xiao Tianyang and asked, 'What have you decided?"
Xiao Tianyang's expression grew serious. "I want to become stronger. I can't stand feeling so weak!"
Tang San looked at Xiao Tianyang with a hint of surprise. For some reason, at that moment, he felt that Xiao Tianyang's heart was incredibly strong—almost like an older brother he should admire.
"We can do it together!" Tang San suddenly smiled.
"Then let's walk side by side, Little San'er. I won't let you surpass me in the future!"
With those words, Xiao Tianyang turned and walked away. As the sunlight bathed his figure, the feeling Tang San had just experienced became even clearer from his perspective.
In the following ten days, Xiao Tianyang and Tang San spent their time together, rising early each morning to meet in the mountain valley. They would return to their respective homes by noon, occasionally visiting Tang San's house for a meal.
While Tang San focused on cultivating the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Purple Demon Eye, Xiao Tianyang also practiced the Nine Suns Divine Art. Their training didn't interfere with each other, nor did it cause any delays for either of them.
As for the rest of the time, Xiao Tianyang applied his special skills, which came from his previous world. These skills were based on a scientific and theoretical training method.
That's right. What Xiao Tianyang introduced were exercises like squats, push-ups, sit-ups, and so on. With Tang San's craftsmanship, even some simpler fitness equipment could be made, which left Tang San in awe.
In truth, when Xiao Tianyang first suggested these ideas, he had some lingering concerns. After all, he had changed so much in such a short time, and bringing up these unconventional ideas was bound to raise suspicion from others.
However, after some testing, Xiao Tianyang realized that he had been too worried.
Tang San himself harbored secrets, and some of his behaviors were quite unique to people in this world. Because of this, the adults in the village often thought he was precocious, and he didn't have any friends his own age.
After finally finding someone to talk to, someone who shared the same dream, how could he not cherish it?
What about a little more secrecy? Hadn't Xiao Tianyang kept his own secrets too?
So, aside from the initial temptation, Xiao Tianyang no longer had any worries. He completely let himself go.
Standing at the top of the hill, Xiao Tianyang held his hands open toward the sun. He glanced at Tang San, who was carrying a 25-kilogram dumbbell in each hand, and said, "Little San'er, you've been practicing for so long. How about we spar a little, hmm?
Tang San, who had just finished a squat, couldn't help but feel puzzled. "Why?"
Xiao Tianyang answered seriously, "Because you can't match me in running, arm wrestling, squat jumps, and so on. Besides fighting, do you have any other options?"
The corner of Tang San's mouth twitched. "Brother Tianyang, if you talk like that, you won't have any friends."
Xiao Tianyang grinned. "Wouldn't it be enough to have you alone?"
He was momentarily stunned, but soon Tang San shook his head and said, "You're trying this trick again, but I won't fall for it."
If it had been at the beginning, Tang San would have been moved by those words, but not anymore.
Because in the previous match, Tang San knew he couldn't win, but just because of Xiao Tianyang's words, he had dared to compete. What was the result?
Failure!
It could even be said that he was pressed to the ground and rubbed into it.
He didn't know why, but despite being better at practicing his Mysterious Heaven Skill, when it came to pure physical fitness, even Tang San couldn't deny that Xiao Tianyang was simply a monster.
It was clear that the two of them had a simple meal every day, and even the occasional meat dish was about the same amount. So why, in just ten days, had the height difference between them grown by ten centimeters?
What was the point of all this?
It was for this reason that Xiao Tianyang 'forced' Tang San to call him brother.
Therefore, it can be concluded that competition = injury = bruised self-esteem = discomfort.
So he won't compete.
Seeing that Tang San didn't take the bait, Xiao Tianyang couldn't help but add, "Well then, you can use any means to fight me, while I can only rely on my hands and feet. Is that okay?
Sure enough, after hearing this, Tang San hesitated. When the two had trained here before, he hadn't shied away from Xiao Tianyang's method of training with hidden weapons. He had even asked Xiao Tianyang the day before yesterday if he wanted to learn it, but unfortunately, his request was rejected.
In Xiao Tianyang's words 'You can't even beat me, so why bother learning all these bells and whistles?'
What Xiao Tianyang meant was not to limit himself from using other means to win.
To be honest, it felt a bit unfair, but those ten days of consecutive losses made Tang San long for a chance to make a comeback.
And it was precisely because of this thought that Tang San finally nodded seriously and said, "Brother Tianyang, this is what you said."
"Yes, I said that" Xiao Tianyang raised his chin proudly.
"Okay, I promise you, but it will be tomorrow," Tang San said after a brief pause.
Xiao Tianyang agreed without hesitation, "No problem."
Then, he leaned in closer and whispered, "You kid, do you want to prepare more hidden weapons?"
"No, I just want to prepare some ointment for you. You'll need it after our fight," Tang San said honestly."
Xiao Tianyang raised his eyebrows in disbelief, thinking to himself, I don't know where this kid gets his confidence. Doesn't he realize that with my power I can easily defeat all these tricks?'
The morning passed quietly, and by noon, everyone returned to their homes.
In the evening, Tang Hao finished his work and turned around, only to find Tang San squatting at the door, preparing herbal medicine. He hesitated for a moment, then finally asked, "Xiao San, are you injured?"
"No, Father."
After saying that, Tang San glanced at the items in his hands and couldn't help but add, "This is for Brother Tianyang. We've agreed to have a fight tomorrow. I was worried he might get injured, so I prepared some in advance."
Tang Hao's eyes first showed doubt, but then he suddenly remembered that brat Xiao Tianyang had secretly taken a hammer and struck iron…
Looking down at Tang San again, he thought to himself, 'I'm afraid this thing will still have to be used on you, Xiao San.'
"Father, what's wrong?" Tang San asked cautiously.
"It's nothing, just be careful," Tang Hao replied lightly. 'It's just kids fighting; it shouldn't be a problem.'
Naturally, Tang San wouldn't hide what Xiao Tianyang had been doing recently from Tang Hao. The two of them occasionally took some iron embryos from here.
As for being concerned, it wasn't such a big deal. After all, Tang Hao was too lazy to care about his own son, let alone someone else's.
