Douluo Dalu: Qian Renxue's Younger Brother

Chapter 195: 191. First Official Meeting

As Qian Renjue's carriage left the Dugu residence, Qian Renxue, who had been lying under the covers, immediately kicked off the blanket and got up quickly.

Her loose, cool nightdress had already been replaced her casual clothes.

Without pausing for a moment, Qian Renxue opened her room door and swiftly headed toward the backyard of the Dugu residence.

She had to be faster than Qian Renjue, or she would miss it.

Whoosh!

Her pale yellow fitted dress fluttered like a butterfly in the wind.

Qian Renxue jumped down from the eaves, her toes touching the ground of the Dugu family's back garden.

Just as she was about to dash forward, a timid voice called out beside her.

"Miss Xue."

"Hmm?" Qian Renxue halted her steps and turned her head to see Dugu Yan and Hu Liena standing across from each other in a pavilion, their eyes fixed on her.

"Good morning, Miss Xue," Dugu Yan greeted with a respectful bow.

Hu Liena, also curious about Qian Renxue's hurried demeanor, she looked at Qian Renxue with curiosity. "Miss Xue, is something wrong?"

Cough, cough.

Qian Renxue coughed lightly and quickly straightened her posture.

With her hands behind her back and her head held high, she said calmly, "Nothing's wrong. I was just taking a casual stroll."

"..."

Hu Liena and Dugu Yan exchanged glances, looking doubtful but refrained from asking further due to Qian Renxue's authority.

Qian Renxue breathed a sigh of relief.

Just as she was about to move again, she stopped and asked, "What are you two doing here? A duel?"

"No, no," Hu Liena quickly waved her hands and explained, "We just happened to run into each other."

Dugu Yan nodded repeatedly beside her.

"Good," Qian Renxue nodded in satisfaction before warning them, "You'd better not cause trouble for Jue."

"We won't," the two girls replied in unison, their hands nervously clutching the hems of their dresses.

"Alright then, I'm in a hurry," Qian Renxue said, paying them no further attention as she headed toward the backyard gate.

"Miss!"

Whoosh!

Another voice stopped her in her tracks. Frustrated by the repeated delays, Qian Renxue frowned and looked at the approaching Porcupine Douluo.

"Make it quick!" she snapped.

Porcupino Douluo stood respectfully to the side, glancing at Dugu Yan and Hu Liena, assuming they had caused trouble for his mistress.

He then reported, "Miss, there's news from Soto City."

"Oh?" Hearing this, Qian Renxue's irritation vanished instantly.

Not caring that Hu Liena and Dugu Yan were present, she ordered Porcupine, "Continue."

Porcupine hesitated briefly before bowing slightly. "According to Zhao Wuji's yearly report, a food-type spirit master with innate full spirit power has appeared at his academy in the past year."

"Is that so?" Qian Renxue murmured, recalling that she had some impression of this food-type spirit master.

His martial soul was a sausage, and he could fly

Porcupine asked, "Miss, should we have Zhao Wuji make contact with him? A food-type spirit master with innate full spirit power is unprecedented."

"What good would that do?" Qian Renxue looked up, somewhat disdainful. "Can he guarantee that all his descendants will have full spirit power?"

"But, Miss, he has the potential to become a Title Douluo," Porcupine said with a strange look.

Was something wrong with his mistress? This was a spirit master with innate full spirit power!

It was worth noting that even the Spirit Hall, with its vast number of spirit masters, had never produced a food-type Title Douluo.

"Fine, let Zhao Wuji test him out. If he's useless, we'll find time to get rid of him," Qian Renxue replied indifferently.

She then added, "Also, for the next few years, have him report every two years. We'll adjust later."

"Understood," Porcupine nodded.

"Good," Qian Renxue said. "If there's nothing else, you may leave."

"Yes," Porcupine bowed and left.

Worried that he might follow her, Qian Renxue walked out of the courtyard with her head held high.

Once she stepped outside, her leisurely pace instantly changed, and she dashed toward the Heaven Secret Restaurant, pulling out a pale yellow bamboo hat to cover her head.

"Miss?!" Porcupine turned around, but Qian Renxue had already disappeared. In a panic, he asked Hu Liena and Dugu Yan, "Where did she go?"

Hu Liena, with a strange expression, truthfully replied, "Miss Xue said she was just going for a walk."

Half an hour had passed since Qian Renjue had departed.

At HeavenTreasure Restaurant, in a private room reserved for VIP members on the second floor, Qian Renjue had just arrived and was inspecting the room Qian Renxue had personally reserved.

The room's decor was simple: a large chandelier in the center of the ceiling cast a warm glow, below which lay an antique-style animal-skin rug.

The room was mostly empty, with a dining table, sofa, and coffee table sparsely arranged.

Despite the simplicity, the materials used were extremely luxurious, with an understated, refined elegance.

A large bed stood against one wall, and the room's four corners were adorned with top-quality sandalwood, adding a touch of classic charm.

Qian Renjue sighed in relief.

Thankfully, Qian Renxue hadn't reserved a ridiculous room. Otherwise, he would have had to wait at the door.

As he reclined on the sofa, eyes closed in thought, the carriage of the Nine-Hearted Begonia Ye family arrived at the restaurant entrance.

Ye Lingling entered alone, signaled the staff about her reservation, and was promptly escorted to the second floor by a maid.

However, something seemed off—Ye Lingling kept her head bowed, making it impossible to see her lifeless eyes.

Standing outside the agreed-upon room, Ye Lingling bit her lip, hesitated for a moment, then raised her delicate hand and gently knocked on the heavy door.

Knock knock!

In the quiet room, the heavy pearwood door made a faint, muffled sound.

Qian Renjue quickly opened his eyes, rubbed his face lightly, and stood up, heading for the door.

"Coming," he called.

The thick door opened silently.

Slowly, the figures on both sides of the door became visible to each other.

As Qian Renjue lowered his gaze, he quickly noticed the same lifeless eyes. Calm and still, her face was obscured by a veil.

Ye Lingling raised her eyes to look at the half-visible face before her.

Though she had only glanced at him a few times two years ago, she could still imagine the other half of Qian Renjue's face and his warm purple eyes.

Qian Renjue stood in the dim light, yet the warmth he exuded was still palpable.

As the door opened fully, they finally stood face-to-face, fully reflected in each other's eyes.

Qian Renjue was momentarily stunned.

The Ye Lingling before him was quite different from the one he had seen before.

Sensitive and observant, Ye Lingling immediately noticed the change in his gaze and quickly lowered her eyes, nervously clutching her collar as she stood there, clearly uncomfortable.
