Douluo Dalu 1: The Tang Family Rebel

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Bibi Dong Has Gone Crazy

In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.

During this period, a major event occurred in Spirit Hall. Yun Chuan overheard his nanny, who was taking care of his daily needs, talking to herself. From her words, he learned that the current Supreme Pontiff of Spirit Hall, Qian Xunji, had died from severe injuries and was beyond saving.

Of course, having read Douluo Dalu before, Yun Chuan knew that Qian Xunji's death wasn't simply because he had been gravely injured by Yun Chuan's cheap "father." Instead, it was because the current Holy Maiden of Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong, had killed him. She had even devoured his soul! This showed just how deep her hatred for him ran.

But honestly, Qian Xunji deserved such an end. After all, he completely lacked any sense of morality as a teacher. He committed the heinous crime of forcibly assaulting his disciple, Bibi Dong, impregnating her and forcing her to give birth to a "bastard child." To prevent her from committing suicide, he even threatened her with the life of her beloved, Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang. Under such coercion, Bibi Dong had no choice but to submit temporarily. However, the flames of hatred in her heart never extinguished, lying dormant and waiting for the day to erupt!

It can be said that Qian Xunji brought his tragic end upon himself. Yun Chuan felt that letting him die so quickly was too lenient.

A criminal as vile as him should have been castrated and thrown into a den of men to suffer day and night...

It was frustrating that scum like Qian Xunji died such an easy death.

In the days that followed, Yun Chuan obediently maintained his guise as a baby. When hungry, he cried; when he wet or soiled himself, he wailed. He dared not display even a hint of maturity. After all, there's a saying: unusual behavior indicates something strange. A baby who should be innocent and clueless but behaves like an adult would undoubtedly be viewed with suspicion. In ancient China, such a child would be considered possessed and drowned in a toilet.

Yun Chuan recalled reading many novels where protagonists were reincarnated as infants. He never understood why those protagonists displayed such precociousness. Some of them, absurdly enough, even called their parents right after being born! Seriously, who would believe that?

What was even more baffling was how everyone around these "infants" acted like this behavior was completely normal. It was as if everyone had been affected by some "intelligence-lowering halo," making them oblivious to logic.

Was it just the protagonist's plot armor that allowed such nonsense to fly?

As someone with a healthy sense of self-awareness, Yun Chuan knew he lacked such a "halo." So he made every effort to act like a regular baby. Crying when needed, making a fuss, and just going through the motions of being an infant.

Another half month passed like this.

By now, Yun Chuan was a month old. Perhaps due to exceptional talent, his physical development was already advanced enough to allow him to move around. After lying still for over a month, he began crawling all over the nursery. His nanny watched him with a face full of indulgent affection.

Then, an unexpected guest arrived.

The door suddenly opened softly from the outside.

A graceful figure in a luxurious gown stepped in.

At that moment, Yun Chuan happened to be crawling toward the door, unaware of what was ahead. As a result, he bumped headfirst into the long, slender, jade-like legs of the woman who had just entered.

"Bang!"

Yun Chuan's little head was instantly rattled, his vision spinning with golden stars. Dizzy and disoriented, he was about to topple over backward.

But just as his head was about to hit the floor, a gentle force enveloped his entire body, lifting him softly. He was then placed in a fragrant and tender embrace.

A strange, feminine scent filled his nose, accompanied by the faint, sweet aroma of milk. Yun Chuan immediately realized that he had been picked up by another woman who was still nursing. Who could it be? Had Spirit Hall brought in a new nanny because they thought he wasn't getting enough milk?

His dizziness gradually subsided.

Yun Chuan finally got a good look at the woman holding him.

"So beautiful!"

That was the first thought that came to his mind.

Yun Chuan had never seen such a stunningly beautiful woman before. Her delicate face seemed like the perfect masterpiece of the heavens, flawless to the extreme. Her ethereal grace and unparalleled nobility made her seem as though she had stepped out of a painting, giving her an almost dreamlike, unreal aura.

"This child… is he the one the previous Supreme Pontiff brought back?" Bibi Dong gazed at the infant before her, his large, sparkling eyes brimming with innocence, his adorable face beyond words. For some reason, her heart stirred. She had to admit, this was the cutest child she had ever seen. Even she found it hard to resist the urge to kiss his chubby, fair little cheeks.

"Greetings, Your Holiness!" The nanny hurriedly bowed and said nervously, "Yes, this child was indeed brought back by the Supreme Pontiff a month ago."

"So, this child is…" Bibi Dong muttered, her voice trailing off into an inaudible whisper. The nanny kept her head low, trying her best to block out the conversation, afraid of overhearing something confidential and being silenced for it.

Returning to her senses, Bibi Dong looked at the infant staring blankly at her. Concern crossed her mind had he hit his head too hard and become dull-witted?

Fortunately, Yun Chuan quickly recovered and displayed a bright, innocent smile on his chubby little face. It was as if the air around him lit up.

"Ah...ah…"

Nestled in Bibi Dong's arms, Yun Chuan made discontented baby noises, waving his tiny hands and kicking his legs. He seemed unhappy with the way he was being held and wanted to get free.

This caused Bibi Dong's perfect brows to furrow slightly.

Yun Chuan, observing her expression, broke out in a cold sweat internally.

Thankfully, Bibi Dong soon placed him back on the ground. Yun Chuan immediately crawled over to the nanny, circling around her in an effort to appear like a normal baby.

Bibi Dong didn't say anything more. She simply turned and left the room. She had merely stopped by out of curiosity after hearing the cries of a baby, wondering why there was an infant in Spirit Hall. She hadn't come specifically for Yun Chuan.

Watching the impossibly beautiful woman finally leave, Yun Chuan let out a huge sigh of relief. From the nanny's earlier reference to her as "Your Holiness," Yun Chuan was certain that this woman was none other than the ultimate antagonist of Douluo Dalu, the future Rakshasa God, Bibi Dong!

In Yun Chuan's view, this woman had unparalleled beauty and the aura of a goddess. But deep down, she was a lunatic! Ever since her former master Qian Xunji assaulted her and forced her to give birth to his child, this woman had already gone mad.

Her actions in the original story—pure destruction for the sake of destruction—showed just how twisted her heart had become.
