Chapter 68: Chapter -68 Speak honestly to me.
Chapter -68
After reading the letter Ma Xiaotao had left for him, Chen Feng thought, "What's happening today? Suddenly, two people decided to write to me."
With that in mind, he reached into his storage soul guide for another letter.
He formed a knife shape with his fingers, and with a quick motion, a flash of white light appeared as he swiftly opened the envelope.
Chen Feng had become more adept with the knife technique, applying it instinctively to everyday tasks.
As he pulled out the letter, he noticed that, in contrast to Ma Xiaotao's bold cursive, this letter featured a neat and tidy font that reflected its writer's calm and composed personality.
"Hey there, bad junior! How have you been? I don't know why, but I find myself missing you all of a sudden. I heard from a senior sister that you've become an inner academy disciple—congratulations, little rascal! We're even closer now.
The flowers in the Wanhua Garden by the north gate of Shrek City are blooming beautifully lately. What do you say we meet tonight at eight and enjoy the flowers together?"
Chen Feng, junior, I'll be waiting for you under the evergreen tree in the Wanhua Garden — your senior sister, Ling Luocheng.
Chen Feng couldn't help but smile as he squeezed the letter.
He didn't expect Ling Luocheng to reach out to him.
Everyone in the inner courtyard knew about Chen Feng and Ma Xiaotao being a couple. Chen Feng figured Ling Luocheng was aware of this too, yet she still sent an invitation.
What did that mean...?
Meanwhile, in Shrek City...
At a luxurious hotel that resembled a small palace, this was the Viss Hotel, where Chen Feng and Ling Luocheng had previously stayed.
Inside her exclusive blue floral room, Ling Luocheng was getting ready.
The full-length mirror reflected a stunning woman, her features delicate and elegant, with skin as fair as jade and a soft glow that made her seem untouched by the outside world.
Her eyes sparkled, slightly slanted, and right now, they showed a hint of excitement behind her cool demeanor.
Ling Luocheng hummed a lovely tune, her smooth voice soft and melodious.
Gently, she unraveled her hair and combed it with an ivory comb, letting it flow like a cascade.
She mused, "Hehe, I bet Chen Feng, junior, has received my letter by now. Time to get ready! Let's see how I can enchant him tonight."
Ling Luocheng chose not to find Chen Feng in person for fear of being discovered by the higher-ups at Shrek Academy.
When Chen Feng was less recognized and didn't have a girlfriend, inviting him was easy, but now it was different. If she approached him directly, people would alert the academy officials, and it would expose her intentions.
So, she devised a clever plan, disguising herself and having a second-year junior sister deliver the letter; the two of them meeting in Shrek City made everything much safer.
Ling Luocheng chuckled to herself, "I'm quite clever, aren't I?"
With her natural beauty, Ling Luocheng felt no need for heavy makeup; as the saying goes, "pure water brings forth the lotus, naturally without adornment."
A quick touch-up of her eyebrows and a dab of blush were all she needed.
Next, she styled her hair up, carefully selecting accessories. Finally, she chose a silver phoenix hairpin, with its beak holding a sparkling blue gem, and placed it in her hair.
Once she was satisfied with her look, she stood in front of the mirror, admiring her reflection, shimmering like morning dew.
Dressed in an elegant outfit that mirrored the early spring willow leaves—cool and beautiful, with exquisite white flower embroidery that looked like they were blooming quietly—she felt ready.
Finally, she pulled out two masks from her storage soul guide, one black and one white, and opted for the white mask.
She stepped out of the hotel and headed to the Wanhua Garden...
Time slipped by, and before she knew it, it was eight o'clock.
The bright moon cast a silvery glow over the earth.
Ling Luocheng, wearing her white mask and looking cool and graceful, made her way to the Wanhua Garden.
Soon, she reached the evergreen tree where they agreed to meet.
There, she spotted a handsome young man in black leaning against a large evergreen, looking relaxed and carefree.
Those visiting the Wanhua Garden were there to appreciate the flowers, and it was quiet beneath the evergreen tree.
Ling Luocheng's lips curled into a smile beneath her mask. "You little rascal, you came early."
With a playful spirit, she quietly approached Chen Feng and circled around to his back, reaching out to pat his shoulder.
Just as she was about to touch him, a large hand caught her delicate one.
Under her mask, Ling Luocheng was taken by surprise, her eyes widening in astonishment.
Chen Feng held her hand gently and pulled her into an embrace, smiling, "Senior sister Ling, it's been a while..."
Returning to his warm embrace after so long, Ling Luocheng softly replied, "You little rascal, how did you recognize me while I'm wearing a mask?"
Ling Luocheng then stepped back from his embrace, retrieved a mask from her storage soul guide, and placed it on Chen Feng.
He looked at her, surprised she had stepped away, and touched the mask now on his face.
"Senior, are we secretly meeting?"
Ling Luocheng, feeling a bit irritated, huffed, "Hmph, what secret meeting? You've been in seclusion for a month and didn't come look for me after you got out, always hanging out with Ma Xiaotao! You little brat, I could just bite you to death!"
Though she maintained her composure, it was hard for her not to feel anything knowing that Chen Feng and Ma Xiaotao's relationship felt somewhat orchestrated by the academy.
Ling Luocheng had planned to be the woman behind Chen Feng and gradually win him back, but how could she not feel a little jealous?
Being a proud representative of Shrek Academy's inner court, she certainly had her pride.
Listening to Ling Luocheng, Chen Feng was caught off guard by how well she was taking things.
In his mind, he had expected her to be furious upon their reunion...
Chen Feng noticed she didn't seem that upset at all.
He wiped the smile from his face and asked, "Senior, are you not angry?"
At his words, Ling Luocheng felt her temper flare; how dare that little brat ask such a thing!
After a moment, she sighed and looked at him, saying, "Angry? I'm about ready to explode! But who told me I can't let go of you, you little rascal?"
With a serious tone, Ling Luocheng asked, "So, tell me the truth, how far have you and Ma Xiaotao gotten? Don't worry; I won't get mad after I hear it."
