DND Realms: The Rise of the Titan-Dragon Prodigy

Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Dragon's Might

Having personally slain all the demon cultists uncovered, Yacheng felt a sense of relief as he eliminated a hidden danger to the city. He then began to leisurely stroll through the streets of the city he was guarding.

Unknowingly, Yacheng arrived at the entrance of a quiet orphanage, where an old man with hunched shoulders and white hair was quietly sweeping the floor with a broom.

"Good evening, senior. Are the children asleep?"

"They are all asleep," the old man glanced at Yacheng and said, "How many times have I told you? Wash off that scent of blood on you before coming here. During the day, it would frighten the children."

"But I don't have any smell," Yacheng sniffed his armpits, slightly indignant.

"That thick scent of blood, I can smell it from a street away," the old man said calmly.

"Hehe, senior, perhaps only you can sense it," Yacheng chuckled as he walked over to take the broom from the old man's hands to help him sweep. This old man, who ran the orphanage, was a hermit he had discovered soon after arriving in the city.

"Don't underestimate the children's sensitivity to these things." The old man did not resist as Yacheng took the broom from him. "What kind of people did you just kill?"

"Demon cultists."

"Did you get them all?" the old man paused slightly.

"I spared not a single one."

"But you didn't get them all," the old man said as he looked up at the night sky illuminated by seven moons. The usually pristine moon now carried a hint of blood, looking filled with bloodiness, chaos, and evil.

"How could that be? I've killed them all," Yacheng said, trembling with anger as he stared at the blood moon he had once witnessed.

"You only found a small part," the old man said, looking at the dark red night sky, his eyelids drooping as he turned to walk back inside. He planned to wake up the children and prepare to leave the city.

"Senior, I'm going to the Demon Hunting Monument to request reinforcements. I'll go ahead," Yacheng, realizing his oversight, dropped the broom and, with a surge of mighty fighting spirit lifting him, flew rapidly towards the Demon Hunting Monument glowing faintly in the night sky.

"Roar!" Before Yacheng could get close, a golden-winged demon suddenly appeared from mid-air and attacked him without hesitation, engaging him in battle to prevent him from reaching the Demon Hunting Monument.

As soon as the anomaly appeared in the city's sky, many people noticed it, and their first reaction was to rush towards the Demon Hunting Monument to seek help from the capital.

The demon calamity had already lasted three years, and with Muria's relentless propaganda, knowledge about demons had become common sense. Even slightly sensible children knew the signs of demon cultists summoning demons through blood sacrifices.

Unfortunately, all those moving towards the Demon Hunting Monument were intercepted by demons that suddenly appeared, with most people being brutally killed after a few exchanges.

This was a premeditated attack. The demons summoned by the cultists were mostly concentrated near the Demon Hunting Monument; they did not want anyone to reach it.

As for destroying the Demon Hunting Monument, doing so would signal to the capital's united front that there was a problem here, urging them to send help immediately. There had been a precedent where a group of demon cultists destroyed the Demon Hunting Monument before a city-wide blood sacrifice, followed by the descent of an ancient dragon.

It was a profoundly sad story, so as successors, it was crucial to learn from the lessons bought with the blood of predecessors. The Demon Hunting Monument was absolutely not to be destroyed. One could only try to block others from approaching the monument and sending out distress signals.

"Roar!" "Awooo!"... The demons' roars echoed through the city, accompanied by the cries and screams of human civilians, a heart-wrenchingly desperate disaster for ordinary humans.

"Children, get up," the old man woke up all the children in the orphanage, taking the trembling, terrified children to the door.

At the door of the orphanage, the old man pulled out a long sword with a shining blade and spiritual light from the door panel, indicating the extraordinariness of the sword.

"Grandpa, I'm scared!" a little girl in tattered hemp clothes said, tears in her eyes as she clutched the old man's clothes.

"Don't be afraid. Look, Grandpa has a sword now. I can protect you," the old man reassured the children with a smile, showing them the long sword, which had been his weapon in his youth.

"Human, who do you want to protect?" A voice filled with cruelty and brutality sounded as a seducing demon appeared silently outside the orphanage door, flanked by four

Frollo demons and several dozen eager and greedy cowardly demons.

"Golden level demon!" Seeing the demon in front of him, the old man sighed lightly, not expecting his luck to be so poor that he would encounter a powerful demon before even leaving the house.

"Human, I'll give you a chance. Offer me all the children by your side, and I'll spare your life," the seducing demon eyed the old man with malicious intent.

The old man didn't respond but looked at the seducing demon as if he were an idiot. Patting the little girl tugging at his clothes, he said, "Xiaoying, let go for a moment. Give Grandpa some time to chop down this demon."

"Grandpa, this is a seducing demon. It loves to deceive. Once its deception fails, it will close in on its opponent..." The little girl rattled off a bunch of information about the seducing demon, which made the demon growl in annoyance.

"Grandpa knows. With your information, Grandpa will take care of them soon," the old man said, holding the long sword and stepping towards the seducing demon.

"Human, you think your old and frail body can battle me?"

"Golden level demon, I've killed many before," the old man ignored the demon's taunts, walking towards the group of demons with his sword, a nearly imperceptible soul intent emerging beneath his feet.

"Soul..." The demon began to speak in terror but was cut off.

"Ptui!" Foul blood sprayed as the old man, with a single sword strike, killed all the demons and motioned to the group of huddled children, "Come on, Grandpa will lead you out of the city."

"Wow! Grandpa, you're amazing!"

"That's right. Grandpa's sword is tinged with dragon blood," the old man continued to recount his past battles to reassure the children as he wrapped them all in his rich and pure fighting spirit and hurried out of the city.

"Human, stay!"

"Where else do you think you can run?"

...

One demon after another surged out from both sides of the street, lunging at the old man leading a group of orphans. Any demon could sense the powerful soul of the old man, mismatched with his aged body, a supreme feast for the demons.

... "Soul level demon!" Facing the six-armed serpent demon in front of him, the old man, who had killed countless demons, showed a trace of helplessness, "Although dying in battle is the best end for a warrior, I can't die yet. I haven't gotten these children out of the city yet."

With a loud dragon's roar, a pale golden dragon's might spread and filled the air.
