DND Realms: The Rise of the Titan-Dragon Prodigy

Chapter 401: Chapter 401: Pinnacle of Life

After discovering that the katana named Hyorinmaru was not the fantastical weapon constructed of soul and ability from his memories, Muria pondered another question—who had forged this imitation?

"Lord Bast, do you know who the smith of this blade is?" Muria asked calmly. He knew he was not alone in this world and had mentally prepared for this.

"You don't know?" The ancient gold dragon Bast showed a look of surprise.

"Should I know?" Muria was a bit stunned, realizing that the creator of this Zanpakuto must be extremely famous, well-known to the point of being common knowledge, which intrigued him greatly.

"Well, given Your Highness's status, you indeed wouldn't need to know," Bast nodded slightly in agreement after Muria's rhetorical question.

"I am uninformed then," Muria stroked his chin, "Lord Bast, please introduce me to the creator of this blade."

"Hyorinmaru is one of the Zanpakuto series crafted by Lord Gustav, recognized as the foremost weaponsmith on the main continent."

"The Zanpakuto series?" Muria's lips twitched, "This Gustav, the number one artifact master of the main continent, forged more than one Zanpakuto? How many has he crafted?"

"Hehe, with Master Gustav's skills, how could he forge just one? When I traveled across the main continent, I heard that Master Gustav had crafted twenty Zanpakutos, though I don't know how many more he might have made by now."

"Twenty Zanpakutos, and each one is different?" Muria asked eagerly, assuming that a smith renowned as the best on the main continent wouldn't just produce twenty identical copies of Hyorinmaru.

"That's right, twenty Zanpakutos, each capable of unleashing both Shikai and Bankai, the two forms of release, and each weapon is unique."

"Shikai! Bankai!" Muria couldn't help but smirk again and then muttered under his breath, "Otaku."

"What are the characteristics of these Zanpakutos?" Muria looked at the projection where the white-haired boy wielding the now-released Hyorinmaru slashed out an ice dragon. He had some speculations about how closely Gustav had replicated the Zanpakutos.

"Master Gustav's Zanpakutos are quite different from typical legendary weapons; these weapons inherently contain immense power. Additionally, each Zanpakuto has unique powerful techniques attached to it, but only the wielder of the Zanpakuto can fully unleash these powers; otherwise, the effects are greatly diminished.

Furthermore, Master Gustav has placed two seals on each Zanpakuto. The basic form of these sealed Zanpakutos is the long, thin blade.

The process of unlocking these two seals is what Master Gustav refers to as Shikai and Bankai. Unlocking the seals grants the wielder the augmented powers of the Zanpakuto.

Normally, Shikai doubles a person's strength, while Bankai boosts it tenfold or more. However, very few who possess a Zanpakuto can achieve Bankai, gaining such tremendous empowerment.

Also, for some reason, Master Gustav has set a peculiar requirement on the Zanpakutos. To initiate Shikai or Bankai, one must recite a specific incantation; otherwise, the release will not succeed."

"This is an otaku's obsession," Muria thought to himself, feeling that releasing a Zanpakuto without shouting its command would feel lacking.

Master Gustav had put so much effort into forging these weapons, which originally existed only in fantasy, aiming to perfect them in line with their original settings.

Putting himself in Gustav's shoes, Muria felt that if he were the one crafting these Zanpakutos, he too would impose these purely troublesome restrictions.

After all, Gustav's purpose in creating the Zanpakutos was merely to fulfill his ultimate fantasy from a previous life, not to create powerful legendary weapons—that was just a byproduct.

"Prince Muria, if you ever encounter an enemy wielding a Zanpakuto, do not be deceived by the name 'Zanpakuto'. The blade's form is just its basic state under two seals. Once a Zanpakuto is released, only a small part retains the form of a blade; most don't even look like swords.

For instance, I've seen a Zanpakuto named 'Hozukimaru', which becomes a rather ugly-looking spear upon Shikai. However, once it reaches Bankai, the weapon, named 'Ryujin Hozukimaru', looks quite impressive."

As Bast introduced the Zanpakuto to Muria, he couldn't help but slightly lament, "Lord Gustav's design choices for some weapons truly make me question his taste, but most of the weapons he

crafts are exceptionally attractive; I sometimes fail to understand this master's fluctuating aesthetic."

After listening to Bast's narrative, Muria remained silent for a moment before asking curiously, "Lord Bast, if I wanted to visit this foremost weaponsmith of the main continent, where would I find him?"

"Master Gustav is currently the husband of Princess Isabella, the elder sister of the reigning Emperor of the Star Sea Empire, and the chief artifact master of the Celestial Empire. He holds a ducal title, equivalent to that of a royal prince of the empire.

The Emperor of the Celestial Empire even designated a small plane as Gustav's fief and often bestows treasures upon him in various ways, showing extreme favor."

"Such a high status?" Hearing of his fellow countryman's dazzling titles and achievements, Muria was taken aback. A status equivalent to that of a human imperial prince—what did that imply? This placed him at the same level as the kings of kingdoms, with his actual standing far surpassing them.

"Prince Muria, do you know why Master Gustav is hailed as the foremost weaponsmith of the main continent?" Bast's face showed admiration, "Because he can forge legendary weapons at an incredibly efficient rate, and each piece he creates is distinctive and unique. He represents the highest standard of human creativity and forging skills."

"Nonsense creativity!" Muria thought to himself, watching the projection of the white-haired boy using Hyorinmaru to execute signature moves like "Gathering Birds Ice Pillar" and "Ice Dragon Tail." Muria internally remarked, "This is downright plagiarism, but having the ability to forge these purely fantastical weapons into reality is indeed quite remarkable."
