Chapter 7: 7: Kizaru's Bizarre Adventures
Borsalino had mentally prepared himself for some dramatic effect when crossing into another dimension. However, when he accepted the invitation, he experienced nothing more than a brief flash before finding himself in an entirely different world.
The surroundings resembled a hotel room. Jotaro Kujo, armed with his knowledge of the plot and DIO's abilities, appeared far more composed than one would expect before such a crucial battle.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Borsalino," Jotaro said calmly as he observed the man who had suddenly appeared before him. His expression betrayed no emotion.
But Borsalino, with his top-tier Observation Haki, could sense that Jotaro's mood had relaxed ever so slightly. Despite knowing every detail of the enemy, DIO was a terrifying adversary, and it never hurt to exercise the utmost caution.
"Yo, Jotaro-kun. So, this is Egypt?" Borsalino glanced out the window, taking in the exotic scenery. Instead of focusing on the upcoming battle, his mind wandered to whether this world might have a Domino City, where a certain Pharaoh could suddenly show up with the three Egyptian God Cards. The thought was so absurd it almost made him laugh.
"Yes. We've located DIO's hideout. The next step is to destroy him," Jotaro replied flatly. Even when speaking about the enemy he loathed, his face remained expressionless.
Just then, a knock came from the door. Borsalino raised an eyebrow, already aware of who it was.
"It's time to move out, Jotaro."
The door opened to reveal an older man wearing a cowboy hat—Joseph Joestar, Jotaro's grandfather.
Stand: Hermit Purple
Other than its A-ranked endurance, its stats were laughably low.
Of course, everyone knows there's no such thing as a weak Stand—only the invincible Star Platinum and the utterly useless Hermit Purple.
"This is...?" Joseph's gaze quickly landed on Borsalino. Jotaro had mentioned introducing them to a new ally, but judging by the Hawaiian shirt and beach shorts, the man looked more like a tourist passing through than someone ready to fight DIO.
"Borsalino, a champion of justice!" Borsalino introduced himself with a casual smile before Jotaro could explain.
"Jotaro?" Joseph frowned in concern. Their target was none other than the monster DIO. Bringing an outsider into this conflict seemed reckless. No matter how strong this man might be, a mere human would stand no chance against a monster like DIO—he would only add to the body count.
"Don't worry, Grandpa. Mr. Borsalino is incredibly powerful." Jotaro reassured him, showing no intention of elaborating further. Joseph would understand once he witnessed Borsalino's strength for himself.
"Mr. Joestar, is there something wrong?"
Standing at the door with his bucket-like hairstyle was Jean Pierre Polnareff. Seeing him, Joseph Joestar decided it would be best not to keep arguing, temporarily accepting Borsalino as part of their team to face DIO.
Borsalino was soon introduced to Jotaro's companions:
Muhammad Avdol, a curly-haired man whose Stand, Magician's Red, allowed him to manipulate fire.
Noriaki Kakyoin, who had sacrificed himself in the original timeline to uncover DIO's time-stopping ability. His Stand, Hierophant Green, had powers that vaguely resembled the Gomu Gomu no Mi from Borsalino's world.
A dog named Iggy, whose Stand, The Fool, could control sand. It could be thought of as a less versatile version of the Suna Suna no Mi, as it lacked Logia intangibility.
And finally, Polnareff himself, with his bizarre hairstyle and Stand, Silver Chariot. This Stand, which resembled a fencing knight, was noted for its speed, precision, and swordsmanship—capable of slashing the air to create vacuum attacks.
The group cautiously introduced themselves to the enigmatic "Mr. Borsalino," whose abilities and background were completely unknown beyond his name. However, their skepticism quickly turned into full trust after a single display of his knowledge: Borsalino casually revealed DIO's Stand abilities and even the abilities of his subordinates. It was as if he knew every last detail about their enemy—right down to what color underwear DIO might be wearing.
Since explaining the source of his information would be inconvenient, Jotaro had quietly asked Borsalino to expose DIO and his subordinates' Stand abilities.
"Even DIO's subordinates have such terrifying Stand powers..." Polnareff muttered, swallowing hard. He couldn't help but shudder at the thought. Without Borsalino's warnings, they would have walked straight into DIO's lair blind, likely being wiped out before even catching a glimpse of their target.
"It's one thing to deal with DIO's underlings," Polnareff added, "but DIO himself… His Stand's ability to stop time is just unbeatable."
Avdol was drenched in cold sweat, unable to imagine how they could defeat an enemy capable of stopping time.
Joseph Joestar, however, shook his head. To him, the truly terrifying one wasn't DIO—it was Borsalino, who seemed to know every detail about DIO and his subordinates before the battle had even begun.
No matter how powerful an ability was, there was always a way to counter it. And someone who could uncover their enemy's weaknesses before the fight even started? That was far scarier. Joseph couldn't help but wonder: How did this Borsalino manage it? After all, there was no sign that he was a Stand user himself.
Polnareff broke the silence with a skeptical question:
"If vampires are weak to sunlight, why are we heading out at night?"
He glanced at the sky, where the moon hung high—it was still the middle of the night. Even if they managed to get through DIO's subordinates, by the time they reached DIO himself, it would only be early morning. Defeating DIO in the dark meant they wouldn't have the sun to help destroy him.
"Trust me," Jotaro said curtly, his tone leaving no room for debate.
He was well aware of the disadvantages of acting at night, but he had his reasons. With Borsalino in their party, he felt assured that even if they defeated DIO without sunlight, they'd still have a way to end him permanently.
Additionally, Jotaro harbored a concern: if they approached too methodically or waited too long, DIO might sense their presence and flee. That cunning vampire was unlikely to stay and fight if things didn't look favorable.
Noriaki Kakyoin and Joseph exchanged a glance before nodding in agreement. After all, they were in a much better position now compared to when they knew nothing about their enemies' abilities.
Soon, DIO's mansion came into view.
Borsalino, following the group with a relaxed demeanor, was reminded of adventures in video games, where small teams worked together to navigate labyrinths and defeat bosses. It had been a long time since he had experienced this kind of camaraderie.
For someone like him, who could face the Whitebeard Pirates head-on and still walk away unscathed, storming DIO's hideout felt less like a mission and more like a casual stroll through a park.
