Chapter 978: Surgery Inspiration
This was a really burly demon, and was a bit of a hassle to tear into his chest, but Lenny had some how entered the zone. The process just came naturally to him.
Even without his memories, it felt like this was what he was supposed to do, and so he gently and tenderly opened into the chest.
If any of the surgeons in his former world were to see his job, they would be moved to tears. It was absolutely beautiful to behold. Every fiber of every muscle cut in such perfection that not even a drop of blood had leaked from the wound he had opened up.
Deeper, he went, layer by layer, until he reached the heart hiding behind the lungs.
With Lenny’s continuous killing and experimentation of demons, he had come to understand that their hearts were very unique, and changed according to the Demon rank, the bloodline of the Demon, whether they were royalty or not, and the kind of bloodline technique that it had inherited.
It was actually a fascinating thing to discover. But even more beautiful was the fact that some Demons had more than one heart.
Lenny had not yet have the opportunity to properly explore the body of a Great Demon, but from the look of things in this demon body, many of his conjectures were spot on.
For example, this demon had two hearts. One heart was bigger and was obviously the primary heart. while the other was smaller.
Also, the first heart although four chambered looked like it was about to develop another chamber. while the second heart was only two chambered.
For a moment, Lenny got carried away, observing the Ventricles and auricles and how blood flow worked.
He could not help but compare them to his existing knowledge of blood flow in the human heart.
After all, in the human heart, blood flood into the heart through the pulmonary vein, superior and inferior Vena cava which in turn fills the right and left aria.
Then the blood passively flows down into the ventricles as a result of gravity.
This was the beginning process that leads to a heart beat in humans. However, this was not the same thing for the demon.
If lenny was to put a word on it, then it would ’weird’. The blood flow through the heart was all wrong.
Firstly, the pulmonary vein did not give blood into the heart. Instead, it pumped something else.
Or rather it was easier to say that it was the most contributing factor to the flow of Darkline magic within the body. This left the pumping of blood both to and from the heart to the Pulmonary artery.
It was an incredibly amazing thing to behold.
Lenny could not help but believe that it was as a result of the natural harsh environment demons were born in.
After all, there were tales of Hell and the underworld being beyond comprehension, especially in certain parts.
As a result of this, their adaptive process saw that they depended more on the flow of magic for the pumping of blood than dependance on Gravity.
At the same time, it allowed them the free exploration of other worlds.
In Lenny’s former life, astronauts usually have problems in space as a result of a lack of gravity. Gravity was important for the follow of blood in the body.
It was one of the reasons why they were encouraged to exercise a lot.
That way, regulation of blood would be forced to remain constant.
Of course, it was one of the reasons why humans never ventured beyond the moon. Unless artificial gravity was perfected, such risks were not allowed.
Since demons depended more on magic for survival which there were born with, then what would happen if the magic was cut off? Or what would happen if a space exists were magic was not possible.
Lenny could not help but smile at this thought.
All of a sudden, several ideas were beginning to crash together in his head. Also, Lenny did not notice it, but the fraction of Law he had absorbed was slowly being digested as his thought process had excited a molding within his being.
Lenny chuckled lowly. This had not been his aim, but some how, in this state of understanding he had stubbled onto some thing profound. Lenny decided to place this idea on a piece of paper and then back into the storage unit so that he would not forget.
This was a theory that testing out would require some time and experimenting. After all, if the first heart could pump magic, then the second might be capable of the same.
Even if he could stop the first one, how was he going to stop the second, and if he did the second, what if the person had more hearts or heart chambers?
Truly, a significant amount of research had to be done.
For now, he had to continue with his work before his eyes.
Finally, he located the core within the demon’s chest.
Slowly, he brought it out.
Even while Lenny looked at it, he was tempted to just consume it and grow in power. But he had to stop himself. After all, he had a much better plan, and -future rewards was his goal.
He controlled the cells on his chest, and it opened up, allowing some of his blood right from his heart soaked up in his holy aura to flow out.
Lenny waved his hand, guiding it to form runes and then he placed it on the core.
The Core shook a bit, an attempt at resisting. But it could do nothing in its current state.
After a while, the rune was firmly embedded in. After which, the core was placed back into the chest.
lenny sewed the chest up, and then he placed shadow runes on different parts of the Demon’s body. This would allow the easy flow of magic.
All was done and ready.
Lenny waved his hand, as he sent a whiff of his magic into the demon’s nose.
Instantly, it rose to its feet, submissive to Lenny...
