Demon Slayer: I Got Reincarnated As Yoriichi

Chapter 35: Suiryu, the Upper Moon 5 Vs Wind Hashira

"Nameless-san…"

Koji pants as he rushed towards him. His hands shook as he crouched beside Nameless, gently checking for signs of life.

Before he could gather his thoughts, a gust of wind announced Tsunenari's arrival.

Tsunenari's eyes widened, his voice as rough as ever, "What?! What happened to him?!! I heard his scream… Why didn't he call out my name?"

Tsunenari Yoshimitsu

Wind Hashira

Age - 18

Koji's teary gaze shifts to him, "Brother…"

Tsunenari's eyes widened even more at Koji's destroyed, bleeding eye. "Koji!! What happened to your eyes? What happened to him? Why didn't you save him? What's exactly going on?!"

He says in a broken voice, "I'm sorry… brother… they were so powerful… I couldn't do anything…"

Tsunenari wastes no time, he immediately covered his destroyed eye with cloth and freed Nameless from those nails pinning him. He is still unconscious, his condition too severe.

"Aniki… we need to take him to the corps immediately, or else he might die…"

Tsunenari turned his sharp gaze at his younger brother, "Why the hell did you come here?! You're so useless. Why don't you leave the corps already?!"

Tsunenari's words hit Koji like a blade, but he swallowed the pain. "Aniki... I'm sorry... for that day. I shouldn't have spoken to you like that…"

Tsunenari laughs in madness, "What the hell do you think I am? You f*cking brat! I don't need your apology. Just leave the corps already!"

"Aniki… please forgive me… It wasn't my fault. I was too young at that time to understand. I—"

Before Koji could finish, Tsunenari's hand slapped him with brutal force, sending him sprawling. Blood trickled from Koji's lips as his face began to swell.

Tears threatening to spill, Koji turned and ran.

"KOJI!" Tsunenari shouted, his hand instinctively reaching out, but Koji was already gone.

With Nameless's limp body in his arms, Tsunenari's chest tightened. Without wasting a second, he took off, desperate to find his brother.

A few seconds later, Koji reached the centre of the forest where the massacre happened.

His breath caught in his throat at finding another demon, Suiryu. His gigantic, menacing form sends a chill down his spine. Suiryu glared at Koji, his eyes burning with malevolence.

Suiryu's smoldering eyes locked onto Koji, a sinister smirk curling his lips. He took slow, deliberate steps forward, his deep, metallic voice reverberating through the silent forest. "Well, well… look who decided to join the party…"

Koji's stomach churned. The ground beneath him was slick with blood, but the bodies of his comrades were gone—erased as if they had never existed.

Koji immediately shoots at him but he deflects the bullet with his hand's chopcut.

In an instant, Suiryu appears in front of him and punches him in the stomach. But he immediately placed the shotguns on his stomach. But his punch still sent him far away.

Coughing and struggling to rise, Koji barely had time to react as Suiryu darted toward him again. His fist burned with a hellish blue flame.

">———BLOOD DEMON ART: BLUEFIRE FIST———<"

The attack was seconds away when a gale-force wind surged between them.

"WIND BREATHING, SIXTH FORM: BLACK WIND MOUNTAIN MIST!"

Tsunenari appeared in an instant, his blade slicing through Suiryu's wrist with deadly precision, stopping the attack cold.

Tsunenari turned, his eyes blazing with fury. "Are you messing with him? Don't you dare lay a finger on my little brother, you motherfucker!"

Tsunenari's spiky white hair whipped in the wind, his scarred, muscular frame radiating an intimidating presence. His almond eyes burned with murderous intent as his long white haori billowed behind him, partially revealing his chest and abs.

Suiryu lunged with brute force, hurling Tsunenari backward, but the Wind Hashira twisted midair, landing on his feet with practiced grace.

"WIND BREATHING, SECOND FORM: CLAWS PURIFYING WIND!"

Blades of cutting wind met Suiryu's fiery strikes.

">———BLOOD DEMON TECHNIQUE: SACRED FLAMES———<"

Flame-like blows rained down, their heat suffocating, their force relentless. Tsunenari gritted his teeth as each clash sent shockwaves through the forest.

Suiryu's strength was overwhelming.

"Oh f*ck! He's too strong… Is he the one who killed Rengoku-San? If he killed him, I am a mere playtoy for him…

But he hasn't killed me yet, is he the same demon?" Tsunenari thinks.

The forest trembled with the sound of their battle, Suiryu's lethal attacks pushing Tsunenari to his limits.

Koji is still watching them, his eyes widened in horror. "No… I can't let Tsunenari-aniki die like this… I need to do something…" he thinks, "B-But how?!! I can't even see their movements… They're too fast! My bullets are too slow for them. It's not good…"

His gaze fell on Suiryu's severed hand lying on the ground. Without thinking, he lunged for it. Grabbing the dismembered limb, he bit into it before it could disintegrate into ash.

A sudden surge of power coursed through him. Koji's eyes turned jet black with glowing red pupils. His body grew taller, his muscles swelling, veins pulsing with newfound strength. His canines elongated into sharp, demon-like fangs.

Suiryu grabbed Tsunenari by the ankle, slamming him into the ground with merciless force before hurling him aside. Blood dripped from Tsunenari's mouth as he struggled to rise, his battered body barely holding on against Suiryu's relentless assault.

">———BLOOD DEMON TECHNIQUE: INFERNO MOLTEN BEAM———<

The blazing beam roared toward Tsunenari, too fast for him to react.

Before it could hit, a shot rang out. Koji's flame-infused bullet collided with Suiryu's attack, dispersing it in an explosion of fire and smoke.

Both Suiryu and Tsunenari's eyes widened in shock at Koji's sudden display of power.

Tsunenari's head dripped blood, his breaths ragged. No matter how hard he tried, his broken legs refused to lift him. He collapsed again, helpless, as Koji stood between him and Suiryu.

"You scum! Did you eat this demon's flesh?!" Tsunenari yells at Koji, his eyes burning with anger.

"Aniki… I had no other choice… Please forgive me…"

Suiryu let out a sinister laugh. "So, the brat thinks he can take me on? Let's see what you've got."

He sneered, his thoughts drifting.

When I was thirteen, I committed my first crime-a murder. This kid doesn't stand a chance.

"KOJI! Run away from him!" Tsunenari shouts.

But Koji didn't bulge.

Suddenly.

A demon slayer arrives, lunging at Suiryu with quick motion.

"WATER BREATHING, TENTH FORM: CONSTANT FLUX"

A water dragon surged forth, its immense force crashing into Suiryu. He barely managed to block the attack but lost an arm in the process.

The newly arrived demon slayer landed gracefully beside Tsunenari's battered form.

His blue haori rippled in the wind, contrasting sharply with his calm, composed demeanor-an unmistakable difference from Tsunenari's fiery aggression.

Kaito Kobayashi

Water Hashira

Age - 18

"Kobayashi-San. I'm glad you came," said Koji.

He looks at Tsunenari and says in a calm voice, "Why are you sleeping in such a place?"

Tsunenari's brows furrowed, "W-What?!! Are you kidding me? My leg is broken, dumbass."

Suiryu's lips curled into a sinister grin, his sharp canines gleaming. "Wonderful! First the Wind Hashira, and now the Water Hashira. This is getting exciting."

Kaito's gaze darkened. "Don't call me a Hashira. I don't deserve the title."

The words sent a shock through everyone.

"What the hell are you sayin'?! Don't joke around!" Tsunenari snapped.

Kaito's voice remained steady. "It's the truth. I wouldn't be alive today if he hadn't saved me."

Under the pale glow of the moonlight, Kaito sat hunched outside an abandoned, crumbling house. His frail frame trembled in the cold, his hollow cheeks and sunken eyes telling a story of starvation and despair.

The silence was deafening until soft, deliberate footsteps echoed through the darkness. Kaito's breath caught as a tall figure emerged from the shadows, the moonlight casting an almost otherworldly glow on his form.

The boy's presence felt almost divine, his calm aura juxtaposed against the desolation surrounding him. His skin shimmered faintly under the moonlight, his gentle steps seeming to carry him above the earth itself.

Kaito's lips quivered as he whispered in a cracked, hoarse voice, "A-Angel of death…?"

The figure stopped before him, his serene smile both soothing and piercing. It was Ren Hajime, his quiet kindness shining brighter than the moonlight.

Without a word, Ren extended his hand toward Kaito, his eyes filled with an unspoken promise.

Since that day, he joined the demon slayer corps. In several years, he becomes the Water Hashira.

Back in the present.

Kaito gripped his katana tightly, stepping forward to face Suiryu alongside Koji. His expression remained unreadable, betraying none of the emotions stirring within with his poker face.
