Chapter 146: C133(1)
At that very moment, Cyborg appeared and rescued Iron Man, who had fallen from the sky!
More importantly, Batman followed right after!
When everyone saw this, the heavy weight in their hearts lifted, as if they had seen a savior, and people cheered all over New York.
Even the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in the TCRI Experimental Building could vaguely hear the cheers of the entire city.
On one hand, they were surprised at Batman's status in people's hearts. On the other hand, they breathed a sigh of relief.
The superhero team led by Batman was considered an ally of S.H.I.E.L.D., and their arrival greatly reduced the potential harm the alien attack would cause.
Aside from the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, there were almost no casualties.
Now, if the technodrome over them could be dealt with, the alien invasion would be brought to a complete end.
"Batman, how do you plan to solve this?"
Nick Fury didn't trust Batman completely.
The main reason was that the enemy was too strong.
Tony Stark had controlled his armor and fought in the sky for a long time, struggling to even approach the war fortress.
Although Batman was powerful, Fury didn't believe that, with the methods Batman had shown so far, the war fortress could be successfully taken down.
Not to mention, on the platform extending from the fortress, an alien stood, whose abilities and plans were still unknown.
This was also why Fury hadn't put full trust in Batman from the beginning.
Fury discreetly took out a pager from his pocket. If things started to go wrong, he would quickly reveal his own backup plan.
"Cyborg? Batman?"
Tony saw the two arrive and, while relieved, also felt a sense of humiliation.
The proud Tony would remember this moment, secretly vowing that it would never happen again in the future.
Boom!!
Tony, frozen in the transparent ice, saw Cyborg firing energy cannons at him. Click! Click!
Before Tony could be surprised, the energy shells fired by him shattered the ice surrounding his armor, restoring his ability to move.
"Thanks!"
Tony nodded to Cyborg.
From the Dr. Octopus incident, to the Iron monger incident, to today's alien invasion, it wasn't the first time Cyborg had rescued him.
Was it destiny?
Was Cyborg his destined benefactor?
Tony's expression grew complicated.
"Don't thanks yet, we'll talk later."
Cyborg replied, his body rising into the air to join Batman's side.
Click!
The Batmobile's cockpit popped open.
Batman stood up and moved to the front of the car, standing side by side with Cyborg.
Under the public's watch, the two gradually approached the technodrome.
"Two more humans who aren't afraid of death!"
Krang, who was hiding in the robot, spoke in a low voice with a tone of disdain, just loud enough for Cyborg and Batman to hear.
They weren't surprised that Krang could speak English.
If they had to explain it, it was probably because krang had already observed Earth's location and gained some understanding of the planet's culture.
Krang didn't enter Earth directly because of the technodrome.
He needed to ensure that, after arriving on Earth, he would have the power to resist, or even crush, all humans in order to launch his counterattack.
The technodrome was his source of confidence.
"I can't help myself?"
Batman and cyborg exchanged a look and smiled in a similar way.
Below them, Iron Man flew into the sky.
At this point, Tony had lost most of his combat power, and the energy from his Ark reactor had dropped to 39%.
If he had to be honest, the only help he could offer now was to support cyborg and Batman.
"Be careful. This guy's spacecraft has a very powerful defense mechanism. If we don't break through its external defense system, we can't get anywhere near the spacecraft." Tony warned.
"Tony, you'll just be an honest bystander, like the New Yorkers. Cheer for us." Batman turned to glance at Tony.
With that, Cyborg ignored Tony's warning, jetting a strong air current behind him and rushing toward the warship.
Immediately after, the Batmobile accelerated, the air behind it bursting with incredible thrust as it led Batman straight toward the outer platform of the technodrome.
The alien controlling the humanoid robot, which resembled a red jellyfish, stood there waiting.
Boom!
The shockwave spread in all directions, slapping Tony's armor and making him sway in mid-air.
"You two!"
Seeing this, Tony could only shake his head. The two didn't take his advice seriously.
"Humph!"
He snorted, preparing to stand still and watch the two of them.
The defense mechanism outside the war fortress was very sophisticated, and Tony had already suffered greatly from it.
Though Jarvis had connected to the warship's internal network and accessed its central database, he had been unable to break through the fortress's defenses. At most, he had gathered some information about the fortress and its commander, Krang.
It was impossible for Jarvis to take control of the technodrome. After all, the fortress was from an alien civilization in the universe.
There were still countless solar systems between Earth and the far reaches of space.
The fact that Jarvis was able to interface with the technodrome's internal network was already a testament to Tony Stark's place at the pinnacle of human intelligence.
Although Tony didn't fully understand Cyborg and Batman's plans, he didn't think the two would succeed in breaking through the warship's defense mechanism, entering its interior, and confronting the alien, Krang.
The next moment...
The gun barrels erected outside the technodrome all aimed at cyborg and Batman. It was the same situation that Tony had faced when he tried to force his way into the warship before.
Tony seemed to envision the scene of cyborg and Batman being bombarded by a dense barrage of energy cannonballs and being forced to retreat.
All New Yorkers, including the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, subconsciously held their breath, their eyes fixed on the sky, watching the unfolding scene.
Whoosh!!
Energy cannonballs blasted toward them like lightning.
Cyborg raised his hand slightly.
In an instant, the cannonballs veered off course, as if controlled by cyborg himself. He slapped his hand casually, redirecting them elsewhere.
Rumble! Rumble!
The cannon energy flew into the distant sky, exploding high above and shattering the black clouds.
But neither cyborg nor Batman's figures faltered.
There was no obstacle in their path, as if they had already anticipated the enemy's attack. They passed through the rain of cannonfire released by the technodrome, crossed the outer area of the fortress, and entered the extended platform inside, where the alien commander, Krang, stood.
Seeing this, Tony's eyes widened, and he couldn't help but curse. "Shit!"
