Danmachi: Strongest Familia

Chapter 163: Chapter 162: Pharmacy Opens

Adventurers, known for their practicality, are highly receptive to new innovations.

As long as a potion is affordable and effective, they feel little loyalty to their usual shops and will easily abandon them for better options. In fact, adventurers prefer having more stores selling healing potions, especially if it drives competàition and reduces prices.

This is exactly why the Janna Familia's new life potion gained popularity even before its release. On the shop's tenth day, crowds of adventurers showed up, curious to try the product.

For now, the shop's sales team consists of temporary hires from other family members. These workers are juggling several roles for a single wage, though their adventurer-level stamina makes the workload manageable. The store's manager, nicknamed the "black-hearted capitalist," nodded in satisfaction as she watched.

A surge of customers soon filled the Janna Familia's store, including representatives from several of Orario's prominent families.

Eager for another encounter with a god she couldn't forget, Ais, along with several members from the Loki Familia, also attended the [New Product Conference].

After a live demonstration by Renata, showcasing the potion's effects, the adventurers were thrilled. In the demonstration, Renata used a sharp dagger to cut Mondo's arm.

Upon applying the life potion, his wound healed instantly. Had the potion been applied more slowly, Mondo would have recovered at a natural pace. But no one knows that and Mundo's big hand is an ideal stage for Renata's display—even those far away could clearly see the result.

Once Renata announced the potion's price, the day's entire stock was swiftly bought up. Although Orario has countless adventurers, even a few convinced by Renata's presentation ensured ample sales to recoup initial costs.

Renata hardly had to explain the potion's value, allowing word of its effects to spread naturally through the adventurer community. Meanwhile, the magic potions attracted even more attention than the life potions. Though only a fraction of adventurers have skills or magic abilities, this elite segment is Orario's backbone—and they're far from short on funds.

Until now, Orario had lacked a reliable magic-recovery potion, so adventurers quickly became enchanted with this new little blue elixir. Finn, who had joined Ais merely to observe, soon grasped the magic potion's significance and immediately signed a substantial contract with Renata.

By midday, adventurers had emptied the store's potion supply, leaving those who arrived later to find only empty shelves. The majority of sales went to Orario's large families, who bought in bulk, eager to stock up on the Janna Familia's potions.

With profits in hand, Renata headed straight to Demeter, quickly gaining an audience with the goddess thanks to Sol's recommendation.

"Ah, you're Renata from the Janna Familia. What can I do for you?" Demeter greeted her with a knowing smile. Having already known her family members attending the morning's event, she wasn't surprised at Renata's swift visit. After all, most of Orario's potion families work closely with Demeter's family for medicinal herbs.

"Demeter-sama, I've heard your family has a wide variety of herbs," Renata began, directly stating her intentions.

Demeter's confidence showed in her smile. "Indeed. We take pride in our herbs."

"I'd like to sign a contract to purchase your herbs in bulk," Renata proposed.

"By all means, thank you for your business~" Demeter replied graciously, as her staff handled the transaction details.

Curious about the Janna Familia, Demeter personally observed the process. Renata's requested order exceeded her expectations—she wanted nearly all the available stock. If not for Renata's established reputation, Demeter might have suspected trouble.

Demeter's family operates Orario's largest farm on the city's outskirts, cultivating herbs for various buyers. However, their herb supply couldn't accommodate a single client's exclusive demand, as they serve numerous potion-making families.

"You must be doing well for yourself," Demeter remarked, surprised by the scale of Renata's request.

"It's just some hard-earned money," Renata replied coolly, expecting partial rejection. This approach was intended to establish her family's credibility and ease future negotiations.

Renata, with her adept business acumen, skillfully negotiated to a price that satisfied her. The morning's earnings barely had a moment to warm Renata's pockets before finding a new home in Demeter's coffers.

She considered this expense a necessary investment. Watching the warehouse fill with fresh herbs, she envisioned the Janna Familia's future soaring on the wings of their potions.

The Janna Familia's rise in Orario was now undeniable, even surpassing the renowned Kyle and Morgana familias. Life potions, vital to every adventurer, had become an essential commodity, and the Janna Familia offered them at unbeatable quality and price.

Adventurers are shrewd buyers, quick to recognize superior quality and value. A simple comparison of effects and prices would easily guide them to the Janna Familia.

Meanwhile, the Miach and Dian Cecht familias—both producing similar potions—struggled to keep up. God Miach's frustration was evident; after all, his family had already been under pressure from the Dian Cecht family's competition.
