Daily Life of a High School Looser after getting System

Chapter 6: The Looser, Part 1

I woke up with a start, gasping for air like I'd been dragged back to life by some ghostly CPR. My head spun as I tried to piece together what just happened. Memories of the 100 souls mission flooded back—chaotic battles, wild sword swings, and the soul-splitting final showdown. But something wasn't adding up.

I blinked. Wait, wasn't I still fighting? Didn't I just slay the 100th soul? And then… I blacked out? Now I was back in my hotel room, standing fully dressed, with my Ghost Slayer Sword casually leaning against the wall like nothing weird had happened.

The clock read 5:01 a.m.

"What the heck is going on here?" I muttered, rubbing my temples.

Before I could even attempt to make sense of it, the floating system screen appeared with a triumphant ping.

---

Congratulations! You have cleared the Hidden Quest: Slay 100 Souls of the Dead!

Level Up! You are now Level 3! Total points to next level: 1000 Lonely Points.

---

"Level… 3?!" My jaw dropped. "Wait, I skipped Level 1 and Level 2? What happened to progression?!"

But the system wasn't done with its surprises. Another notification popped up.

---

Mission Reward:

Ghost Slayer Sword (Already Owned)

New Items Unlocked:

1. Lonely Potion

2. Looser Knife

3. Looser Points: 100

All states increased by +5. Check Loner States for updates.

---

"What kind of glitchy system is this?" I yelled. "I slay 100 souls and you toss me two depressing-sounding items and a handful of points?! I deserve at least a victory parade or something!"

Ignoring my complaints, the system updated my stats. Begrudgingly, I opened the Loner States screen.

---

Loner States:

Physical Fitness: 26/100

Intelligence/Mental: 200/350

Attack Spell: 6/500

Defense Spell: 6/500

---

"Well, at least something improved," I muttered, half-heartedly. "But seriously, what's with these Looser items? Is this a reward or an insult?"

The item screen popped up next, listing my new loot:

---

Items:

Ghost Slayer Sword: Your trusty weapon for slicing and dicing spectral foes.

Lonely Potion: Restores energy. Warning: Overuse may lead to existential dread.

Looser Knife: A basic blade, weak but reliable. Don't expect it to win any beauty contests.

Looser Points: 100: Can be used to increase any Loner States. Use wisely, or regret eternally.

---

"Okay, first of all," I said, pointing an accusatory finger at the floating screen, "why is everything labeled with the word 'Looser'? Is the system trying to hurt my feelings? And second, what the heck is an existential-dread-inducing potion supposed to do? Make me question my life choices while it heals me?"

The system, naturally, didn't answer. It just sat there, mocking me with its silence.

I sighed and flopped onto the bed, rubbing my face. "Fine. Let's look at these stupid points next. Maybe they're useful."

I tapped on the Looser Points, and a new screen appeared.

---

Looser Points: 100

You can allocate these points to any Loner State. Choose wisely.

---

"Wow, thanks for the pressure, system," I said sarcastically. "Should I spend them on physical fitness so I don't collapse after running up a flight of stairs? Or maybe dump them all into Attack Spell so I can actually do something useful for once?"

I sat there for a moment, contemplating my options. This system wasn't just turning my life upside down—it was actively messing with my head. I couldn't even argue with it because, well, it was a system. It didn't care about my whining.

"Oh, whatever," I said, waving my hand dismissively. "I'll figure it out later. First, I need food. Fighting 100 souls is hungry work, even if I technically passed out at the end."

I stood up, stretched, and glanced at the Ghost Slayer Sword. It gleamed faintly, as if it was proud of the havoc we'd caused together. I gave it a mock salute. "Good job, buddy. Let's not do that again anytime soon."

As I headed out of the room to hunt for breakfast, the system chimed one last time.

---

Reminder: Use your Looser Points within 24 hours, or they will expire.

---

"Yeah, yeah," I grumbled. "You're like the nagging parent I never asked for."

This whole system thing was starting to feel more like a curse than a blessing. But hey, at least I was Level 3 now. That had to count for something, right?

...Right?
