Ruby, who had been quiet until now, leaned closer with a dark tone. "Does she have a screw loose or something?"

"I'm more concerned about why she's here in the first place." Weiss muttered, her brows furrowing as she crossed her arms.

Meanwhile, Octavia didn't react at all. She was engrossed in her library-borrowed book, flipping pages with practiced disinterest.

I unfolded the letter and began reading aloud. "Greetings, Sho Jin of the Eldritch pantheon. Please help us deal with Aqua, as she will now be under your care until the end of the high school term… or until she is kicked out. Do what you must, and in exchange, the Heaven pantheon will forgive you for the harsh deed you have committed in the past."

I lowered the letter, blinking as Aqua's oblivious smile remained firmly in place. My mind raced as I tried to piece it together.

"You hear that? You must do everything to care for me." Aqua declared, her tone dripping with smug authority. "If not, you'll be stuck in the Eldritch pantheon—the worst pantheon to be in."

She whispered, as if sharing some forbidden knowledge, "Just so you know, those in the Eldritch pantheon tend to die repeatedly. The afterlife there is just to give you a new body to use—and send you back to die again." She stood upright, radiating self-satisfaction. "Now, in the Heaven pantheon, you get to stay in one of our many heavens and enjoy life to the fullest! Big difference, no? So it's in your best interest to gain my favor if you ever want to transfer over."

Ruby, Weiss, and I exchanged blank glances, then turned back to Aqua, all of us wearing equally deadpan expressions.

"I think she's the reason why it took so long for the Heaven pantheon to send someone." Ruby said dryly, with the voice of bemusement. "I mean, we already have Octavia from the Hell pantheon…"

"Do you think we could send her back?" Weiss muttered, glancing at her wristwatch, where Ghost helpfully displayed the current time. "It hasn't even been ten minutes, and I don't like her one bit."

"Oh, wait, there's more." I squinted at the letter, realizing additional text was hidden at the bottom. I cleared my throat and continued reading aloud. "If you successfully manage to get Aqua to finish high school, we will make you an honorary member of the Heaven pantheon…"

I stopped mid-sentence, my grip tightening on the letter as my eye twitched.

"See? The Heaven pantheon is on my side!" Aqua announced, puffing out her chest with unearned confidence. "So, you better do your best to earn my favors." She punctuated her declaration with a smug laugh that echoed through the room, growing increasingly grating with every passing second.

Ruby leaned closer to me, whispering behind her hand. "Is the letter serious right now? An honorary title? That's it?"

"I'm more concerned about how they think we can get her through high school." Weiss muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose. "We've barely survived ten minutes with her."

In the background, Aqua continued laughing, entirely oblivious to the collective dread spreading through the room.

"Do you think she'd become a better person if you just... you know, fuck her, Jin?" Ruby whispered, leaning closer to me with a sly glint in her eyes.

"She's beautiful, sure." Weiss interjected before I could respond, crossing her arms with a skeptical look. "But what if she ends up being worse afterward? Do we really want to take that risk?"

I sighed, my gaze dropping back to the letter in my hands. My eyes flicked to the final line at the very bottom, almost hidden beneath the ornate signature.

"I know what I must do." I said in a low, determined voice. All eyes turned toward me, curiosity and caution flickering in Ruby and Weiss's expressions.

Without further explanation, I stood, walked over to Aqua, and lightly poked her forehead with my right index finger.

"Sleep!" I commanded, activating Boundary Manipulation to knock her unconscious instantly and without resistance.

Aqua crumpled to the ground like a marionette whose strings had been cut, her snores filling the room a moment later.

"We know." Ruby chimed in, her tone mischievous as she glanced over her shoulder, her eyes sparkling excitedly.
