Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The first kill
"You should start with the Suraimus, the green monsters you saw earlier, but before that," the creature revealed a shortsword in less-than-ideal condition. "Consider this a starting weapon. Just so you know, the monsters of the curse can only be killed by weapons provided by me or anything containing mana."
Amon's jaw dropped. "Mana? There's even magic on Earth now?" he said with a strong hint of sarcasm. "Yep, this has to be a fantasy now. By the way, where am I supposed to find those green devils?"
The creature responded, "Monsters of the curse all spawn around the champion's house or starting point. The farther you get from the house, the stronger the monsters will be. However, otherworlders could be anywhere. Be wary, as Dracula brought millions of otherworlders, and they're probably scattered around the world by now."
Amon picked up the shortsword and gave it a quick swing. "Ok, good to know. The name's Amon. What's yours, helper?"
The creature replied quietly, "I don't have one."
Amon smiled. "I guess it's Voithon then. Goodbye, my friend."
Amon ventured into the world of the unknown, leaving the creature with a quiet farewell, "Goodbye, Amon."
Living in London, Amon's home was surrounded by a maze of roads leading to various locations. Despite the ruthlessness dealt to the previous champion, Amon felt relatively at ease, knowing he had the shortsword. After a short walk to the nearby roads, he spotted three of those slime monsters. The sight of them brought back the memory of poor Ralph's demise. But Amon's resolve was unwavering. No one in humanity knew why Amon's determination was this strong, why he would risk his life so readily.
Amon knew he couldn't rush in without a plan. He scanned the area and noticed a rock under a nearby van. An idea formed. He hurled the stone at one of the monsters, and luckily, it didn't alert the other two. The remaining one charged towards Amon, but he was ready. He gripped his shortsword tightly and remembered that the slime would pounce. As soon as it leaped, Amon swung the shortsword down with all his might, slicing the slime in half. He had achieved his first kill—humanity could indeed defeat these monsters.
