Cultivating Immortality With a Broken Pagoda

Chapter 33: Changes in Mutou World!

Chapter 33: Changes in Mutou World!

Fang Yuan respectfully took the token and then also left the restaurant. He had too many things to do now that he had the resources.

With the cultivation art, his cultivation could grow even higher, and he had a large chance of stepping into the fourth level of Qi Refining before the entrance.

There was a vast difference between the third and fourth levels, as a spiritual barrier blocked the two levels. Stepping into the fourth level was stepping into the middle level of Qi refining from the early level.

Time flew by, and soon, it was time for Fang Yuan to begin another of his spacetime travels.

As the idea appeared in his head, his soul appeared before the portal. He hesitated before going through since the Crimson Wood City had changed for the worse. There was danger everywhere, and he had no idea how many things would have happened in the past twenty days.

Now that he had wealth due to the sale, he had a choice whether to take risks.

"Cultivation is striving to reach the peak. How can it be risk-free?"

"If only this could force me to give up, then I would have no chance to reach the peak," Fang Yuan yelled.

The yelling seemed to have given him enough confidence, so he no longer hesitated and soon stepped into the portal with determined eyes.

The next moment, the familiar feeling of discomfort returned, and the view before him changed. He was back in the same tent he was lying in before being sucked by the portal.

There was silence all around, so Fang Yuan cautiously walked out of the tent, and the next moment, a wondrous scene appeared before his eyes.

The medical camp that spanned several hundred meters was now devoid of any life. Fortunately, it didn't seem to be something dangerous, as the items weren't there as well.

Fang Yuan was the sole living being as far as his eyes could see, but not for very long. As he walked to the end of the camp, a group of people appeared before his eyes.

They couldn't help but become cautious when they noticed Fang Yuan appearing before their eyes since they were about to leave after searching the medical camp if anything important was left back. They didn't see the boy anywhere.

Fortunately, one of the men in the group recognized Fang Yuan, and he informed the others about his deeds.

A look of respect appeared on the people's faces after learning what Fang Yuan had done to save a baby.

Fang Yuan walked to the group and asked about where the people had gone. He also had to make up a lie about his disappearance and appearance after the group showed their confusion.

Fang Yuan couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief after learning about the people. The zombie disaster was solved by the people, but it didn't come cheap.

When Fang Yuan reached the crematorium, he saw numerous burning pyres. Some relatives were crying, and Fang Yuan saw a familiar figure, one of the three Cao siblings.

His condition didn't look good as his right hand was missing, while he seemed to have grown numerous years in those several days. The young and energetic man was nowhere to be seen, and an old, hunched man had replaced that.

Fang Yuan walked to the man and patted his shoulder. The man seemed to have not noticed the patting at all and kept looking at two pyres out of the numerous burning pyres.

Fang Yuan followed his eyesight and saw a tragic scene. Instead of a burning body, only a head was there, while for the second sibling, nothing except tidbits of pieces.

An uncomfortable feeling rose in Fang Yuan's heart, but he forced himself not to puke. Many of the ones had long years left to live, but now nothing was left of them.

Fang Yuan couldn't help but bow toward the pyres since many of these were the brave ones who fought bravely and saved many due to their sacrifices.

The only Cao sibling finally noticed Fang Yuan, and when he saw Fang Yuan bowing toward the pyres, he couldn't help but release whatever tears he had stored.

In the next few moments, the silent tears turned into bawling, and at the end of it, the crying completely disappeared, and what had disappeared with it was the man's life.

At that moment, all three of the siblings were dead.

Twenty hours passed in the blink of an eye. Seeing those many cremations put Fang Yuan in a sad mood, so he didn't do anything in those hours and silently bid farewell to the people of Crimson Wood City and the city itself.

The city had disbanded due to so many deaths. The city lord was still there, but the population wasn't.

The city was anyway based on trade, so with so much destruction, it would take years before the city could return to normalcy, and in that time, other cities would replace the trade.

It was the lifeblood of the city lord due to the wealth it brought to him, but no matter how much he wanted to reestablish the city, it was no longer possible. Since things were such, the man simply left for the main city with all the wealth he had earned over the years.

The wealth he had saved over these years wasn't a small sum, so living comfortably wasn't an issue.

Fang Yuan opened his eyes as his soul returned to the Qingtian continent. The sadness was still there, so he could no longer sleep.

The next moment, he sat on his bed and started to meditate. Cultivation couldn't be done the entire day as the body couldn't bear it, so Fang Yuan simply meditated to calm his mind and heart.
