Chapter 26: Lynn X Peirson II
Effort
It's only us made us do it.
__
It was too late.
Determination won against grudges, Jimmy.
It won't show how the effects had efforts too. This thing still pointed out our future and how you're turning- torturing me, biting me down, Jimmy. I didn't make any hope since he did this. But it was you made me do it to me. I don't know wether I should possibly read you when you showed up or something I missed when I preferred. I don't know.
Big bash is on the way. So is Injuries.. many Cricketers dropped, many got chances. New faces trailed up on squads even XI's. Many personal matters also had been shown in mixing situations while battling on field for top four positions. Many known teams dropping spots for unusual reasons. Who cares whom when team changes, hotel changes. Mind recalls all the single things what were hidden for specific reasons and supposed to prefer under grudges.
"Just tell me why you behaved like that, Jimmy?" "Wearing engagement ring doesn't show you're getting married." Steketee still made his face concerned hearing that. Those anxieties wouldn't let situations to turn. No words could come when mind takes it as truth. If professional barrier still showing its demand on mutual ways, how could lie turn to excuses? "But he would come, Jimmy. I know him." Peirson didn't listen any of his words before making his way out. Still managing his left hand to move normally, it hurts whenever he tries. Colin Munro took over Captaincy this season, obviously he's doing great job on field. Still holding the top position on table. Hasn't got enough dissapointed faces. Praises, skills, leadership mixed perfectly through his performance. All is well in eyes, even in mind. Not everybody's showing good behaviour like what he should show upon. Peirson, the elite junior, making his way out. Several times he's done a great job on field. This season is going well with fellow fellas, he shouldn't have to worry about.
Back to his room where he's staying alone for now, for even days. Locked the door and looks up, missing out something. Mind is recalling family conversations what he witnessed before bbl. He hasn't cried though, had a strong mind to let all the things rush in at the same time, killing him. 'Hey, Lynn. Peirson got hurt in hand on net session, today. Wanna check in?' Sent the text. Knows he's far away in Adelaide. They're in Brisbane. Few doors after, gave hope to his mind. Maybe time is serving his fate, showing its wrath. Maybe it'd be alright. He opens his cupboard and rotates his hand over some hanged shirts. Feels its softened, 'Maybe I'm yours now. But I know I wouldn't be yours for-ever.' Says it out and feels his cheeks got wet too. Closed the door and go back under duvet to fall asleep maybe to cry.
'How's it feel Lynn, days earlier we were happy to have each-other, now we're running from truth?' Lynn feels the line directly in his heart while touching the photo reflecting from his wallet's ID window. Smiles, how beautiful Peirson is looking! Why even is he running from truth, after knowing all the things were wrong itself they just made each-other blamed for? They turned themselves down, begged before standing for companies. No, he isn't running. He's coming for Peirson and to tell everything at once. To clear. 'I'd tell you everything, Sweetheart. Each and everything.' Holds the speed and rushed...
"Why even you've stucked yourself at our hotel? Go back to Star's." Peirson didn't want Steketee to stay around him. He reads him well. After changing his team, he can't even manage schedule to come in Heat's hotel and go crazy with Peirson. Missing old days. When he managed finding time to waste, Peirson didn't show further interest to spend. He can read all the tiny reasons reflecting his own face on Peirson's mouth. He can't blame Peirson anymore. Its him, finding his ownself on his face according to previous year, recreating another momentum. Possibly turning out, at least wanted to try, but middle of their selves, the word 'Chance' comes first. Although Peirson already gave Steketee a chance for his mistakes he made between Peirson and Lynn. But Steketee can't see a face without fun and smiles, even though the reason is he, himself. Lets it go, turn all the things upside down. Peirson made mistake too. That's why serving proofs to Lynn, both of them. Last month, they engaged but not a propable date of marriage came. Peirson knows how he should feel right now before wedding, but doesn't. Maybe they could be husband-wife now if he and Steketee didn't make any unusual things between them. Peirson choosed friendship over Love even after knowing Lynn was right. That's how, their trust issues found a support to increase, still going upwards. Steketee tries to stop it as a handy way. But Peirson doesn't want him to.
"Jimmy."
How concerned one could be with his voice turning into an unwanted thing? He didn't even want to get rid neither he wants to turn around. He remains steady at his place. Lynn takes steps forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. Still no move. Why even he would? For saying, he can't get married with someone who's not his? Who can't be changed or can't consider his individual situation! Who don't even understand a single unsaid word from him. How can Jimmy spoil his life? He knows making a choice is most needed material at present. He can't face Lynn calling form behind, would ask how's he, and then he'd tell a lie again..... he's fine, doing well, just without him!
It's enough now.
"Can we have some moments?" Yeah Lynn said, alone-time-kicking-ass, he can't even tell yes or no. He moved to his room and Lynn's hand slips down from his shoulder. He followed Jimmy without any word. Locked the door behind him after getting inside. He faced Peirson's back facing him, crossing his hand over chest. "Jimmy. I want a normal conversation." Lynn yells and Peirson moves lightly. Never ever he could ignore or disrespect Lynn. He's much older than him though. "How's your hand and don't say good." Yeah, that's elite way all time Lynn takes to throw a slap on his face. Peirson opens his mouth to speak rather, "Doctor said I need rest. I want a sleep now." No sooner had he said that he went to sleep. Lynn watched him to prepare his bed and placing down. Suddenly their eyes met and Peirson moves it apart. "Ahm- you can sleep over." He confirmed what Lynn didn't need. He takes his movement forward and lays next to him. Lynn rested a hand again on his shoulder and calls his name. He turns and faced Lynn this time, looking at other direction. Lynn moves the hand on his jaw and touched him. "Jimmy. Don't say you wouldn't marry me." All he could say a tiny request with millions questions behind. Peirson looks and holds his hand what was over his jaw. "I wouldn't break my promise." Reticence was shown across. "I didn't understand, Sweetheart. I should have considered your movement with Steketee."
A long pause.
"I know you don't know anything, Jimmy. That's why I've come here. It wasn't too late. It was at exact time. I didn't tell you to not choose Steketee over me. BUT you can't say you weren't wrong, too," he holds Jimmy's shoulder, "We both forgave each-other, I still do believe trust is more needed than understanding. And I-I trust you, JIMMY. I do. And we aren't running from truths. It's only us made us do it. Can't we again trust each-other?" He finsihed as Peirson started crying. He finished wiping his tears, he hated the most on Jimmy's face. "You didn't break my trust. I promise I won't choose anyone over you, Lynny. I promise." Peirson leans forward and hugged Lynn. Lynn moves his face up to give him space to escape with his embraces. "And after marriage, I want to trust you TOO." Peirson nodes and appreciates. He wanted to change it and say a lot to Lynn. Rather, "Why you always took the blame, Lynny?" "Cause I don't want you to think you're the one who made mistakes and pay for it later. I just don't. I'd consider it as mine if YOU made mistake, but don't want YOU to take the blame and cry with it. You know I feel cursed to see tears on your eyes." Peirson still feeling cry but holds it for Lynn. "But putting Steketee over was my mistake. You can't take it. And yes, I also promise I won't break your trust, Lynny. I'm sorry." He again hugs him more tightly. "Don't." Lynn answers hushly as he leans down and kissed his lips. Peirson kissed him back and holds him between his hands. "Love you, Jimmy." He smiles and scoffs too, "Love you too." He kissed all over his shoulder, neck and jaw. Yeah, times later... maybe
decades later...
"Why your name is LYNN it should be LEAN." Peirson shows interest as Lynn laughs. Sometimes Peirson becomes more funnier. "Why? You want it to be L-E-A-N?" Peirson twisted his lips didn't speak. "Alright. You can call me LEAN from now. Both sounds similar." So Lynn gives the permission and Peirson appreciates. "Thank-you. But I'd add extra E so it turns, LEAN-E. Ha ha." He laughs as Lynn found a reflection of heaven over his face. No he can't let it go...
