Creating A Succubus Army In A Fantasy World!

Chapter 24: Chaos Fragments.

Creed stood still as a statue in the underground cave, his sharp eyes locked on Dagga.

The torch on the wall flickered, its dim flame sending wild, twisting shadows across the jagged walls.

The fiend demon perched on a boulder nearby, his posture solid as a mountain, his gaze as unshakable as steel.

Creed's voice broke the heavy silence, sounding calm but firm. "So… you're telling me that a Chaos Fragment is formed from the life essence of the strongest demon in history?"

Dagga nodded, his expression as serious as stone. "That's exactly what I'm saying. A Chaos Fragment is more than an artifact—it's raw, crystallised power. Power from a demon who stood above all others."

Creed frowned, his thoughts spinning. The strongest demon's life force? His mind filled with the idea of holding that kind of power. Power enough to shake entire realms.

It was impossible not to feel the pull. But along with that excitement came a cold shiver of unease.

"What kind of power are we talking about?" Creed asked, though deep down, he already knew.

Dagga's red eyes gleamed in the torchlight. "No one truly knows. All we know is that it grants the wielder power no demon could ever imagine. Strength that crumbles mountains. Energy that burns entire armies to nothing. The Fragments don't just bend the rules of the world. They were made to break them."

Creed let out a slow breath. The weight of those words hit him like a punch to the chest. Power like that didn't come without consequences.

For a moment, he stood there, running through the possibilities.

With a Chaos Fragment, his strength would soar. He would experience a rapid boost in strength in a lot of aspects if the fragment was even half as good as it sounded.

A tool like that could change everything!

But the disadvantages were just as clear. Owning something so extraordinary would be like branding himself with a target.

Every demon, every top existence, every power hungry lunatic in the realm would come for him. Unless he found a very fool proof method to hide it, he would be in constant danger.

A tool like that would only bring trouble to its owner if he or she wasn't extremely careful, and even so, the threat wasn't completely gone.

After all, no matter how careful one was. There was always going to be a more careful enemy out there.

Unless one was already very powerful. It wasn't going to end well.

'Power at the cost of your life,' Creed thought darkly. 'A key to unimaginable strength… but the lock was surrounded by blood and death.'

He shook off the thought and narrowed his eyes at Dagga. "And you know where one of these Fragments is?"

Dagga tilted his head. "Not exactly. But I know where to start looking."

Creed arched a brow. "You're chasing rumours?"

"It's not a rumour," Dagga shot back, his voice cutting through the cave's quiet like a blade. "The energy I felt from that place… it's like nothing else in the demon realm. If it isn't a Chaos Fragment, it's something very close."

Creed studied him closely. Most fiend demons were hot headed and violent, but Dagga was different.

There was a calm strength about him—a steady, unshakable confidence that wasn't reckless but still dangerous.

It was a dominance that fit the bloodline of a fiend demon.

Creed crossed his arms. "Why are you chasing something this dangerous? Weaklings like us can't hold onto something like a Chaos Fragment for long. The Divine level demons would hunt us down in seconds."

Dagga's red eyes burned with conviction. "Because I have a goal. There's a prophecy, passed down since the Salvation Era.

"It says that when all five Chaos Fragments are brought together, the demon race will see a new era of strength and prosperity."

Creed raised an eyebrow. "A prophecy?"

Dagga nodded. "It's more than words. It's my life's purpose. I'll find all the Fragments. I don't care how long it takes. The demons need a saviour, and I'll be the one to make it happen."

For a moment, there was silence. Creed stared at him, processing what he'd just heard.

'This guy…' Creed thought, his mind spinning. A level one fiend demon with ambitions that stretch higher than the heavens themselves. Goals so impossible that even Divine level demons wouldn't dare to dream of them.

And yet, as insane as it was, Creed couldn't help but approve.

A faint smirk tugged at his lips. "Ambitious as hell. I like that."

Except he didn't manage to make it in the original story he had read. He was probably killed along the way without accomplishing anything.

Maybe this time around things would be different.

Dagga arched an eyebrow. "You don't think it's stupid?"

Creed's smirk widened. "A man without a goal that big isn't worth much. Whether you succeed or fail doesn't matter. The fact you're aiming that high makes you stronger than most."

Dagga grinned faintly, his sharp teeth glinting in the torchlight. "Hmph. Glad we understand each other."

Creed turned his head slightly, looking toward the sluggish river cutting through the cave.

The water was dark, the light barely touching its surface. Most of it was swallowed by pitch black shadows.

Then—

Splash.

Creed froze. The faint sound was unmistakable. Something moved.

He shot Dagga a sharp look. "Did you hear that?"

Dagga's head snapped toward the river, his body instantly tensed, his claws curling like hooked blades. "I heard it."

The silence that followed was thick and suffocating.

Then—

Splash. Splash.

The sound grew louder. Something was swimming through the water. Moving toward them.

Creed's heartbeat quickened, but his face remained calm as he tightened his grip on the sword. His sharp eyes stayed locked on the water's edge. Whatever was coming… it was fast.

Dagga rose to his full height, his muscles coiled and ready. His crimson eyes glowed faintly as his teeth bared. "We're not alone."

Creed didn't reply, every nerve in his body on high alert. The splashing grew louder, closer. The sound echoed off the cave walls, making it hard to tell where it was coming from.

And then—

It stopped.

The cave fell silent again. The only sound was the faint drip of water somewhere in the distance.

Creed clenched his jaw, his voice low. "Whatever it is… it's waiting."

Dagga let out a quiet growl, his tone steady but menacing. "Then let it wait. It'll regret showing up."

Creed's eyes stayed fixed on the water, every muscle in his body tense. The silence pressed down on them, heavy and cold.

Then—

Splash.

Something moved again. Closer.

The torchlight flickered violently as if the air had turned colder.

Creed narrowed his eyes. "Here it comes…"
