Cote reaction + mha cast

Chapter 4: 4 - Deceiving Chihiro

very long chapter

favorite chapter so far except for the intro

(though that was expected since i dont care at all about it, was just trying to get to the actual reacting part without being too terribly written)

for those who can even remember it, the original reaction script was made slightly longer cuz i wanted to add something though the actual editing phase wasn't too long.

sorry for yall that did not want mha characters, but they in now.

though the cote characters will still be the main focus, so the mha cast won't be clogging up this fanfic or anything, so don't worry too about it much.

More notes are at the bottom for my reasoning for the retcon.

---

As the introduction video finished, the screen prepared to play the next in the playlist, only for a staff member to cancel it. Satoru then closed his phone, stood up, and headed toward the side entrance of the theatre.

"Alright walk in." Satoru said, gesturing the group that had gathered outside the theatre room in.

Once he finished speaking, a diverse group of people with odd clothing and visible deformities or body modifications walked in silently.

It was hard to believe what we, normal students in ANHS, were seeing right now.

"What the fuck?"

"That guy's on fire!"

"Who are those people?"

"Why are they all cosplaying?"

"Is that guy a fucking stone block?"

"How's he so big?"

Questions erupted immediately, and honestly, I couldn't fault anyone for their reactions. While many of the people in the group looked like regular persons in strange outfits, the presence of mutants, giants, and other inexplicable figures quickly became the main focus.

Perhaps the mutants could be explained away as clever makeup and mechanical enhancements, but the giants, the girl who was completely invisible with the exception of her clothing, and the other biologically implausible figures felt like they belonged in a mythological book.

Satoru walked over to the other entrance of the theatre after all those people had found their seats, where ever there was extra seating.

"Alright, it's your turn to walk in." He said, prompting another peculiar group to enter.

Unlike the last group, these newcomers weren't as heavily dressed in cosplay, but they still included various mutants and giant individuals. What stood out more, however, was the tense atmosphere shift in the earlier group, who began glaring at them for unclear reasons.

It was apparent they weren't exactly friends though.

Like the last group, they walked towards their own seats without making too much of a fuss, though the constant glaring at each other continued on in the ongoing silence.

"Ok class. I'll accept a few questions before we continue-one per person. Sound good? Great, let's keep it quick." He said, blatantly ignoring the issue at hand.

He appeared to be addressing everyone in the theater, rather than speaking to a specific class, so I wasn't sure why he referred to us that way, but I suppose that didn't matter.

Not surprisingly, many students raised their hands, eager to ask questions.

Satoru, planning to finish this segment quickly, instantly choose one of the class leaders.

"Fufufu, I'll get the most obvious question out of the way as I'm sure we're all thinking this. But, who exactly are these people?" Sakayanagi asked, looking at them like they were a bunch of animals in a zoo.

"That's exactly what I expected the first question to be so of course I'll make sure to provide a very detailed answer to that question. if you check the OAA App, you'll see that we've added some new profiles for our guests. "He said, as he waved at the staff member stationed on the displayer laptop to begin.

As we waited him him to play whatever he was going to play, I took my phone out and checked out the OAA app, seeing a new section added that displayed, Heroes, Villains, Students, and Others. I quickly scrolled through the list memorizing the names with their faces, along with some other small details, because that's something Ayanokouji Kiyotaka would do probably.

"You see, these fine people are from a different universe, a universe where superpowers are common place. In that planet those powers are called quirks, where most people are born with one of them, unlocking it by the age of 4. We also created a short video explaining the whole thing for your viewing pleasure."

The screen lit up as Satoru pointed toward it, displaying a concise one minute video summarizing the world. The premise was the classic hero-versus-villain trope, with a society built entirely around it, sounding exactly like something you'd expect a child to come up with.

"I see now, that certainly explains things well. Thank you, Satoru-san."

"Wait, we're supposed to believe this bullshit? You serious think these dumb cosplayers are from another universe." Kamuro said, not buying the alternate universe story.

"Oh? Then how would you explain this Masumi-san?" Sakayanagi replied.

"Don't call me that. And I don't fucking know, but there's no way they're actually from another universe." Kamuro said, talking as if it was the dumbest thing she'd ever heard of.

"Excuse me for barging into your conversation, but we learned a little bit about your universe before we came here, and seeing that you don't have any super powers in your world it should be enough to prove that he's not lying. Watch." A girl wearing incredibly revealing outfit that left little to imagination, and hair that was tied into a sharp pony tail cut in. If I remember correctly her name is Momo Yaoyorozu. She raised her hand, drawing everyone's attention, and with a pinkish-cyan scattered glow, created a pair of red and blue movie glasses. "My quirk let's me create anything non-living material or object through my skin. See." She added, growing out another set of movie glasses, however it was comically large size version this time, and she handed it over to the ANHS student sitting nearby her.

That student, Koji Machida, tried to compress the glasses, tapped it onto the chair right and front of him, starting to believe the little explanation we we're given was true.

"Yeah, it was hard to believe at first, but these glasses came out of her right in front of me. I don't think there's any point in doubting their legitimacy anymore." He said, handing the glasses over to the student next to him, which was quickly passed down again, and again, eventually making it over to Kamuro and Sakayanagi.

"And there you have it Masumi-san. You can't continue not believing anymore, can you?" Sakayanagi said smugly, putting the comically large glasses on Kamuro's face before snapping a picture with her phone.

Kamuro clicked her tongue in annoyance and turned away from the camera, choosing not to voice her doubts any further.

"Hold on, I'm not convinced yet. For all we know you can just be using some sort of advanced magic trick to make that appear, you've got-" Kaneda had started voicing his disbelief, but was quickly cut off as a wave of blue fire shot out above him, causing him to duck for his life.

A man with black hair, covered in burn wounds and stitches had jumped out from his seat, landing on the railing by stairs. The intense blue flames appeared to emanate from his arm, their heat so overwhelming that many students from ANHS had to shield their eyes and began overheating, despite the flames only hitting the opposing cosplaying group.

"How's that? Seem real enough to you yet four-eyes?" He said, with a nasty smile on his face.

Producing a flame of that intensity would be challenging even if you had the right equipment, never mind producing it from nothing but ones own hand. This was more than enough evidence to suggest they really had super powers of some sort.

"YOU BASTARD! WHAT THE HEL-" A blonde-haired boy yelled before Kaneda had a chance to say anything back, but had a scarf wrapped around his head to prevent him from talking more.

"Be quiet, Bakugo." The middle-aged man who had wrapped the scarf around him said.

He was among those struck by the blue fire, yet surprisingly, none of them showed any signs of being burnt. The video claimed each person only had one quirk, so it didn't make sense that all of them were unaffected.

Could it be an invisible barrier quirk shielding them? If so, it had to be skin-tight since the flames visibly deflected off their bodies. Though, there's not enough information to make a accurate analysis.

"Calm down dumbass. You should know already that our quirks are are harmless for the time being anyway, there's no point in acting like a little bitch." The white-haired said, revealing that my hypothesis of their quirks wouldn't be able to harm anyone was correct..

"While that is true, I'm going to have to ask you from doing things that disruptive." Satoru said, and created a giant flame ball of his own to show off to the students that were scared by the burnt corpse's actions. "I can understand that some of you may be worried about your safety from the clear lack of professionalism shown by Dabi over there. But fear not, their quirk's abilities are indeed real like he said, however they aren't actually able to affect anything. If that flame had actually touched you, you wouldn't have been able to even feel it's heat."

The massive fireball he conjured broke into hundreds of smaller flames, each one flying toward the students and staff at ANHS. While the heat was noticeable as it was close to you, people quickly realized that the closer you got to it, the weaker the sensation became, and placing your hand inside the flame did not effect your body whatsoever.

The theater erupted into chaos, students and staff murmuring in confusion and excitement. Satoru, clearly uninterested in the opening that nobody cares about, swiftly moved on.

"Alright, now that that's out of the way, let's move on to the next question." He said, pointing to the weird dog-sized, mouse-looking thing that raised it's paw up the fastest. "Go ahead."

"Thank you for picking me, Satoru-san." Nezu, the principal of UA, replied, giving a small bow in appreciation. "I understand that these fine students from the Advanced Nurturing High School are watching these videos as part of their special exam, but why were we brought here to watch with them? And why did we see the same introduction video they already watched in another room? Also, if you're only planning on answering one of my two questions, I'd prefer you address the first one," He added, his curiosity about their summons evident.

"Haha, I did intend to answer just one, and since you asked for the first, I'll go with that. No comment." He said, not answering after claiming he'd answer the question.

I suppose, technically speaking, not answering the question is an answer to the question itself.

By revealing 0.2% of my true darkness eyes, (a technique that I hadn't used since I was back in the White Room ) it became obvious to me that he was lying. There never was a special exam; it was all an excuse—an excuse created to force us to watch these videos, rather than just introducing some irrelevant bored omnipotent god to force the reaction instead.

Now he's thrown that away by introducing an alternate universe's new cast of characters. Something that obviously wouldn't be possible in a regular setting.

I wonder, was it really worth it?

"Next question." Satoru said, still causing a ton of student's to raise their hands.

Ike stuck out from the crowd, he violently raised his hand up sky high, practically begging through his eyes to be picked and have his question answered.

Satoru, hearing his prayer, choose him.

"Ok, Satoru-sensei..." He said, and quickly got all nervous. He'd put his hand up without thinking, but now he realized that hundreds of people would hear his question. "Do you have any specific criteria for deciding what we're going to watch next?"

Was this because of his concerns about his own privacy? He probably wanted to know what exactly wouldn't be shown. Yamauchi had his pants down with his junk barely covered, and that ended up being shown to the whole school. Personally I wouldn't want that to happen to me.

Perhaps some more carefree or malicious students would ask for reactions to specific events, like the allegations against the Class D boys for peeking, or what their crush thinks about them.

He probably wanted to know if anything like that would happen to him.

In all likelihood, it was a combination of these thoughts and possibly even more.

Ike had changed a lot since the start of the first year. If it were the old him, I'm sure he would have shamelessly asked to react to Kushida swimming, Kushida changing, Kushida bathing, or Kushi—

The question he asked was something many people would want answered. Knowing the criteria for what was chosen could ease students nerves, especially if it meant guaranteeing that certain secrets of theirs wouldn't be exposed.

"Good question," Satoru responded, his tone as disinterested as ever. "Yeah. Next person." He halfheartedly answered before pointing to a student in Class C.

"Thank you for choosing me, Satoru-san," Ishizaki said, his gaze shifting to Ryuen for direction. Satoru, however, wasn't too pleased with that and interrupted.

"Unfortunately, you're not allowed to get support from your class to ask questions. Unless, of course, you'd prefer to have your Wi-Fi history—which would include any incognito mode activities—publicly displayed instead." Satoru threatened sadistically.

It was strange that he wouldn't let us discuss what questions to ask with our class, even going so far as to threaten revealing Ishizaki's browser history to the whole school if got given help.

I couldn't help but wonder what his reasoning was behind that.

"Eh?" Ishizaki said, his confusion evident as he hadn't thought of a question. "Uhhhhh, lets see... c-can you explain the criteria for a video being picked?" He asked hesitantly, stealing a fearful glance at Ryuen to check if he'd chosen the right question.

Which in my opinion, he hadn't, but barely a second later, Ryuen shot him a 'are you fucking stupid' face.

It wasn't a bad question, but given Satoru's earlier, mostly offscreen, comments, it seemed obvious that if he was going to explain the criteria, he would have done so when Ike asked if there was one.

"Nah." He replied curtly, then pointed to a student in class B.

"Hehe, can we request to react to someone?" Amikura asked, a sly grin forming as she looked at Ichinose with devious intentions.

Satoru smiled back at her, but instead of the teasing smile Amikura put on, he wore a seemingly malicious one. "Not this early on you can't, but I take you want to react to another video from Ichinose's POV? If so, then you surely won't be disappointed with this." He said, signaling the staff member to start the next video.

The video began by showing the door to the girls bathroom, then transitioned into the room where someone was absentmindedly staring at themselves in the mirror.

Splashing my face with cold water in the girls bathroom, I look at myself in the mirror. Butterflies flying rapidly in my stomach stressing themselves for the upcoming meet up.

"Hmm? I thought we we're going to react to Honami's point of view again." Shibata said slightly disappointed at not being able to continue hearing her thoughts.

"Don't be too disappointed. She's going to be shown later in the video, but for now we are going to be reacting to Chihiro Shiranami-san—" Satoru said, and was cut off instantly.

"—HUUUUUHHHHH?!?!?! W-w-w-why are we r-reacting to me???" Chihiro, who had been looking over at Ichinose and turned her head over when she heard her name, said. She was confused as to why someone like her was chosen, but a second later the look of horror appeared on her face.

"—And for the video's special effect. It's going to be a the 'Romantic Relationship Meter', this scales how much someone wants to be a relationship with the person who is looking at them." Satoru continued explaining, ignoring Chihiro's initial outburst.

"Chihiro-chan... " Amikura said, looking at her with sympathy.

"I'm sure it's not that bad, Chihiro-chan. Honami-chan is probably going to have her ecchi thoughts about Ayanokouji broadcasted~, and it can't get any worse than Yamauchi's point of view." Kobashi said, taunting Ichinose, while rubbing Chihiro's back softly.

"B-but... t-this is when..." Chihiro whispered tearfully, unable to complete her sentence.

"Yeah—W-Wait, e-e-ecchi t-thoughts?! I-I told you already it's nothing like that!" Ichinose said embarrassingly, taking a moment to realize she was unreasonably getting caught in the crossfire.

For someone as quiet and unassuming as her, the only thing I'd know of that would fit with her nervously looking at herself in the mirror is when she attempted to confess to Ichinose.

It's practically a death sentence for a girl like her.

It didn't seem like Ichinose had realized what we were about to watch next; otherwise, she'd be acting a lot more differently in preparation for what's to come up.

"I feel so bad for Chihiro-chan. She's normally a quiet person, and having her thoughts shown to the whole school is way worse mentally for her." Amikura said, feeling slightly guilty for her earlier request that partially caused this outcome.

"Yeah." Kanzaki said, with the rest of his classmates agreeing with them collectively.

"I'm probably gonna kill myself if this happens to me." Himeno muttered, though she'd probably been speaking figuratively. probably. hopefully.

Today's the day.

This is so nerve-racking...

Should I really go through it—what if she says no?

"Huh? Wait this is..." Ichinose said, her eyes widening in surprise, she seemed to finally realize what the video was likely going to show.

"Do you know what this about Honami-chan?" Ando asked, hearing her talk.

"Umm..." She paused, not wanting to answer that question, and was thankfully cut off before anyone could force her into answering it.

"OH! I KNOW! I KNOW! She's totally in love~!" The girl, Mina Ashido, had pink skin, pink hair, twos small horns, and a black sclera that made her look like a discounted alien, yelled across the room.

"I think it's too early to tell. She could be nervous for any number of reasons, and besides, she's talking about another girl—that lowers the odds of it being love-related anyway." Replied the girl with earphone jack-like ears, Kyoka Jiro.

"Kyoka-chan's right. We can't say anything for sure yet." The frog girl, Tsuyu Asui, added.

"Nope! My love senses are going off, that's totally what's happening here! And it doesn't matter if she's talking about another girl, you can see the hearts in her eyes!" Mina replied, certain that her hypothesis was correct.

"Hmm... guys I think Mina's onto something here, she looks exactly like Uraraka does whenever she's thinking about Deku." The invisible girl, Toru Hagakure, agreed with Mina's love theory.

"Kfuh?" Uraraka coughed, choking on some salted McDonald's fries.

"What do you think, Yaomomo?" Tsuyu asked.

"What I think? Well... I don't know, I'm not very experienced with this sort of thing." She replied.

"Why don't you guys just ask her? I don't see any reason why you haven't at this point." The boy with a single black strip in his yellow hair asked, confused as to why they weren't asking out right.

"Are you stupid or something, Kamanari? You can't ask something like that to a girl you don't know, who's also clearly super shy. Geez having her thoughts broadcasted were already enough humiliation for her, don't you think?" Mina replied.

Kamanari looked at his female classmates like they were idiots, then over to the students in class B, then back to his clueless female classmates.

"You're serious? You do realize that you girls were being so loud about this that her entire class, and a decent majority of the people in this room are looking over at your love discussion." He said.

Apparently, they were so oblivious to their surroundings that they hadn't realized how loud they were being compared to the few other people talking. This, of course, meant that not only the entirety of Class B but also most of the school could overhear their conversation.

With the abrupt love discussion ended, the only thing that you could hear in the theatre is the sound of the protagonist girl, Chihiro, crying silently while sitting in a fetal position, and being comforted by her classmates to no avail.

The group of hero students likely had no involvement in the video, nor could they have done much to stop it. Still, guilt weighed on them after their earlier conversation. The girl who had been the subject of their love talk was sobbing non-stop, and it was only natural for them to feel bad about it.

"Sorry, Chihiro-san! That was really insensitive of us to talk about you like that." Mina apologized, with her hands placed together in a apologetic position.

"Yeah, that was really inconsiderate. Sorry!" The invisible girl added.

The rest of the convicted group collectively apologized as well, all saying their own small parts.

Maybe it was the extreme stress of the situation or the noise of her cries drowning out all the voices around her, but Chihiro gave no indication that she had been listening to either their discussion or apologies. Instead, Ichinose, a possible prominent figure in the video's content and a close friend of the girl currently at the center of it all, chose to step in.

"T-There's no need to apologize." She said, her voice lower than usual. "It's totally understandable that you would like to talk about somebodies love life, most of the girls are like that in our class too. Chihiro-chan is just super shy, and I think she would appreciate it if we stopped talking about her for now."

Ichinose no longer carried the confidence she had displayed when defending others in the previous videos, and it was clear why. While Chihiro's love confession being broadcast to the entire school was undoubtedly humiliating, Ichinose having what she did during the confession shown to everyone was arguably even worse than the simple rejection.

The hero school girls had no problem agreeing with her suggestion, and the video continued on, as nobody else really cared about the situation.

Honami-chan is way too popular. She probably had loads of people ask her the same question. I'm a girl too, the chance of her actually accepting it is super low.

"Wait... is this about Shiranami-san confessing to Ichinose?" Shibata leaned over and whispered in Amikura's ear.

"You're just figuring that out now? Are you an idiot?" She whispered back, confused as to how he hadn't put that together sooner.

"How was I supposed to know that she already confessed? Shiranami-san and Ichinose never acted weirdly around each other, that would me— WAIT! THERE'S NO WAY! ARE THEY SECRETLY DATING?!" Shibata whisper escalated into a shout, having come to a weird conclusion, and causing tons of heads to turn into their direction.

'Although I think I've been very secretive about it, Ryuji was somehow able to tell that I had a crush on Honami. So, if I think about it logically, Ryuji isn't even that smart when it comes to social stuff, meaning that if it was easy for him to spot my crush, then Honami might already know about it. If that is true, this can only mean two things, one that she knows about it but doesn't feel the same way so she hasn't said anything. Or two, the more likely option is that she's a lesbian and is secretly dating Shiranami. That would explain why she wouldn't be interested in me as well...' Shibata illogically thought.

"Don't yell you idiot!" Amikura whisper yelled back, hitting the behind of Shibata's head. "Did you learn nothing from what happened literally 2 seconds ago? Are you that dumb?"

"I'm not dumb! I'm just putting two and two together!"

"That's literally the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Everybody already knows she's in love with Ayanokouji-kun, so why would you think that they're actually dating?" Amikura replied.

"Wait, hold up. What's this about her being in love with Ayanokouji?" Shibata asked, confused and slightly wary on this new revelation.

"Huh? You're saying you didn't know already that she was in love with him?" Kobashi asked, as she had been close enough to listen to the whisper conversation the two of them were having.

"What are you two even talking about? D-Did she admit to being in with Ayanokouji or something?" Shibata whispered hesitantly, clearly anxious about what the answer might be.

"Of course she didn't admit to it. But it's so obvious when you look at how she acts around him, and how much she'll talk about him in class—I've heard her talk more about him then I've seen her talk to some students in our own class. You're probably the only person that doesn't know already." Amikura quickly replied, with Kobashi nodding along in agreement.

"W-What? She's doesn't talk about him that much, and she probably just acts like that because she's embarrassed from you and the other girls always teasing her over stupid stuff. That doesn't means she's in love with him."

"Shibata... teasing wouldn't make her that flustered unless there was something real behind it. She's totally fallen head over heels for him." Amikura said, talking to him like he was a child.

"Exactly! Remember how she couldn't take her eyes off him at the ship's pool after the last island exam when he was shirtless? She didn't even notice how much she was staring until we called her out on it, and then she started blushing like crazy. It was so funny." Kobashi added.

"There was also that time when Yume tricked Ayanokouji-kun into attending the class B girl's sleepover party and plopped him down next to Honami when he arrived. She basically turned into a mute because of us, ahahaha. Then we convinced them to play a king's game with us, and cheated it in to get them to—" Amikura said, but got her mouth covered before she could finish.

"That's too much info Mako-chan." Kobashi cut her off with a seemingly innocent smile on her face.

"...You guys are seriously convinced that she likes him?" Shibata asked, ignoring their suspicious behavior.

"Yup!" "Yeah!" Amikura and Kobashi both said in unison.

Shibata went silent for a minute, unsure if he wanted to open his mouth and continue arguing his case or stay quiet to avoid the trouble.

"Well... I dunno still. It doesn't feel like enough proof." He muttered, no longer speaking in whispers yet his voice was low enough to be mistaken as one.

"You seriously don't believe us still?" Kobashi asked, slightly annoyed at his skepticism.

"I-I just said I don't know, alright? I'm not going to make any hasty assumptions when I don't know the full story still, it would be rude to do that." He added.

"Whatever dude." Amikura replied, tired of the conversation.

Should I just say it was a joke and forget the whole thing ever happened?

Honami-chan is really perceptive though, she'd be able to tell something is wrong with me immediately, that wouldn't work.

Should I just not go?

But I already sent her a letter, It'd be rude of me to have her wait this long for no reason. School ended not too long ago, she could of been hanging out with her other friends.

"I guess those UA students were right about it being a love confession." Matsushita said.

"Yeah, I feel so bad for her." Shinohara added.

"I agree, I don't know if I could ever be able to show up in school again if they showed my confession to Ayanokouji-kun. I'm sure Shiranami-san is feeling the same way." Sato said, with a sad look on her face.

"Don't say that you'll end up jinxing yourself." Matsushita replied, looking over at Satoru.

"That's true, I wouldn't want to end up the second person in our friend group that gets her lewd thoughts about Ayanokouji-kun broadcasted." Sato retorted, smirking at the blue eyed girl.

"Pfffffftt" Mori withheld her laugh.

"WHAA—I-It was already clarified on video that it was just a misunderstanding!" Matsushita once again fruitlessly attempted to defend herself for her previous-self's suspicious thoughts.

"Liar~ you had those perverted thoughts back when he was a regular loner who's only redemption was having a pretty face, but now that we know he's a lot more than that, so I bet you're real opinion of him is a lot higher than what you said it was." Sato added, continuing her attempt to tease Matsushita.

'When the frick did Sato get so sadistic?' Matsushita thought having been teased relentlessly by her friends for her thoughts in an previous video, despite her excellent defensive measures.

"She's right~, doesn't Ayanokouji-kun fit the description of what you said your ideal man was anyway? If I remember correctly you said they didn't actually need to be a senior, so how bout it Chiaki-chan? Do you still wanna 'mess around' with him?" Mori said, continuing their attempt to tease her.

"Just shut up already" Matsushita said, using one hand to cover part of her face, with her finger leaving a gap for her left eye to peek through. "I admit he is already so just shut up please."

Matsushita friends continued to tease her a little regardless of her raising her white flag, occasionally sending glances as they did. What was a bit more unusual though was that I was feeling another persons gaze on from the new group, the girl with the earphone jacks as earlobes, Kyoka Jiro.

Even without having looked at her profile, her quirk at glance is obviously something hearing related, meaning that Matsushita and her group must of been saying some weird things for her to be staring at me like that.

Daaammmnn iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

I placed my hands on the bathroom mirror; my head facing downwards, which caused my hair to fall and block the view of my face. Then I look up, locking eyes with my reflection.

There's no backing out now.

We were supposed to meet at 4:30pm, about 15 minutes from now, Honami-chan always shows up early too, she might already be there waiting for me.

Picking up my bag, I added back on some light make up and got ready to go meet her.

As I made my way to behind the gymnasium, I passed a few students who were just hanging around, but most students had already gone home.

I turned on the corner and there she was... with another person? (His interest in being your boyfriend: 0%)

"Ayanokouji-kun!?" Kushida yelled in surprise.

"Kiyopon?!" "Kiyotaka-kun?!" "Kiyotaka?" The Ayanokouji group collectively questioned.

"Wait, whaaaaaaaaaaat?!" Amikura shouted, confused as to why I'd be there.

"Another student? I thought this was going to be a confession." The poor boy with horrible tumor's in both of his elbows, Hanta Sero, said, confused on what was going to happen.

"I think this was supposed to be a girl on girl confession, but for some reason that Ayanokouji guy is already waiting there. That could only mean one thing... lucky Bastard." Said the boy, Minoru Mineta, with dark purple hair that was shaped in four ball clumps resembling a Mohawk.

"Why is he there? Why are you waiting there Ayanokouji-kun?" Matsushita instantly questioned.

"What the hell, Ayanokouji? Why are you waiting there for her when she's supposed to be getting confessed to?" Ijuin asked with a slight aggressive tone, probably because he was one of the boys that had a crush on Ichinose.

"THERE'S NO FUCKING WAY! YOU ALREADY HAVE THAT FIRST YEAR CHICK, SO WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU MEETING UP WITH ICHINOSE BEHIND THE GYM?!" Ike yelled as if he doesn't have Shinohara, and that wasn't an entire year before I could even met Ichika in person.

"YEAH, WHAT THE FUCK DUDE I THOUGHT YOU WERE ONE OF US?" Yamauchi shouted, forgetting the past 15 minutes.

They act like meeting up with a girl after school has to mean we're in some sort of romantic relationship. As if you couldn't be meeting up alone with a girl for any other more normal reasons.

"Hold on Ike, it's too early to assume anything." Sudo said, having a little more trust in me than the other boys in class.

"What's going on here Kiyopon? You can't just say that's nothing happening this time too! I won't let this go so easily this time!" Haruka said, violently pulling my arm back and forth.

At the same time Sakura began staring at the floor with tears in her eyes, muttering something incomprehensible, and Keisei was glaring at me suspiciously. I let out an audible sigh.

"Like I said before with the first year girl, there also isn't anything going on between me and Ichinose. This happened sometime near the start of the first year, and she had just asked me to met her there for some advice, then Shiranami had shown up before I could leave." I replied.

While this explanation might suffice for now, the video will undoubtedly reveal that moment, drawing a ton of unnecessary attention to me. All I can do is pray that they shift the perspective to one of us and make it clear that what's going to happen was just an accident.

Haruka narrowed her eyes on me, then puffed out her cheeks in an almost adorable manner before crossing her arms beneath her chest. "Curse that dang poker face of yours. Because of it, I can never figure out what you're actually thinking." She said, slightly annoyed.

"Haruka-chan, everybody. I think Ayanokouji-kun is telling the truth here, I remember Honami-chan telling me that she owed him a favor because he helped her out before. This should be before Sudo-kun's trial took place, isn't that correct, Ayanokouji-kun?" Kushida asked me.

I couldn't help but find this strange—Kushida defending me, I mean. Kushida clearly despises me and probably holds a similar grudge against Ichinose for being effortlessly popular in a way she has to work tirelessly to achieve. False rumors about us dating would only work in her favor. I'm still seen as a gloomy loser by most of the school, so Ichinose's popularity, mostly with the boys, would take a hit, while Kushida's would likely sky rocket. She doesn't seem to gain anything from stepping in like this, so I can't figure out why she's bothering to.

"Yeah, this was a little bit before then." I said.

"Well... fine. I don't trust that bastard, but I'll believe in you Kikyou-chan." Ike said.

"I agree with Kushida-san. There's no point in getting all worked up over this, if we continue the video I'm sure it'll follow Kiyotaka-kun's explanation." Yosuke said, once again attempting to calm everyone down.

"If Hirata-kun says so." Mii-chan said, sounding like a generic class D NPC.

With both Kushida and Hirata supporting my defense, most of the other students in the theatre had calmed down, though there were still a few boys that were glaring at me in suspicion and hostility.

That indeed was the case at least, until the class B students stopped paying attention to our conversation and looked over at Ichinose, who's was hiding her face with both a guilty and embarrassed look on it.

"Honami-chan? Honami? HONAMI-CHAN?!" Amikura yelled, suspicious at how Ichinose was acting. "If what Ayanokouji-kun was saying is true, then why are you acting like that? Why can't you look me in the eyes, Honami? You're not secretly dating Ayanokouji-kun without telling me are you?!" Amikura said, feeling betrayed by Ichinose's supposed secretism.

Once again, the attention that had began to dissipate off me me, came straight back. Ichinose's inability to keep a straight face while waiting wasn't a surprise, but it sure was disappointing.

"Eh?" Kushida said, now becoming suspicious of me herself. "A-Ayanokouji-kun why is Honami-chan acting like that?" She said, but Ichinose answered before I could.

"T-T-That's not it... it's just something... I-I did s-something stupid here." She replied, placing her hands over her face to hide her shame from her classmates.

The room buzzed with murmurs as people continued voicing out their suspicions, though none of them directed their comments at me again. Then, shortly after, the video resumed.

Huh?

"But - Ah." Honami was about to say something, but stopped when saw me. (Her interest in being your girlfriend: 0%)

"Hmm, I think I missed it earlier because of the shock, but neither of them are interested in dating her. Ichinose's lack of interest isn't surprising since she's a girl, but Ayanokouji-kun's lack of interest is. Is that because he doesn't know her, or is there something more, Satoru-sensei?" Sato asked, curious about how the scaling worked.

"Good question. The meter tracks the level of interest someone has in dating the user. In Ayanokouji-kun's case, since that was his first meeting with her, he showed no interest in dating her. This is normal, as most people wouldn't want to go on a date with someone they've just met, so it shouldn't be taken too seriously this early on." He explained.

"I see... That's good to hear." Sato replied shyly, twirling a strand of her hair.

"Of course you'd be glad to hear that." Mori added jokingly.

"Shaddup." Sato replied.

Honami-chan is standing here with a boy?! Is he her boyfriend?! No that can't be she wouldn't hide that from—if he isn't... Why would he be here?!

"Um, Honami-Chan... Who is this person?" I questioned, confused and visibly shaking.

I knew how popular Honami was, but... This can't be... It can't...

"T-This is Ayanokouji-kun, from class D. I'm sorry for bringing someone that you don't know, Chihiro-chan." Honami said, growing increasingly nervous with each word she spoke.

"Is he by any chance... your... boyfriend, Honami-chan?"

"Ah... Well..." She stumbled over her words.

Was I wrong? Did she really have a boyfriend? It doesn't make any sense.

I don't understand.

"So why is this Ayanokouji-kun person here?" I asked, having still not received an answer.

No one said anything, I couldn't believe it, would she really hide this from me? Tears begun uncontrollably falling from my eyes, I just needed to confess to her, even if he really was her boyfriend.

"That's a totally normally reaction, Chihiro-chan. I don't know how I would react if I was supposed to meet up with someone to confess, and then they showed up another person of the opposite gender." Ando said, rubbing the crying girls back.

I noticed the girls in Class B still trying to comfort Shiranami. She had been crying her eyes out, and then slowly lifted her head from her fetal position to watch the video. I was a bit curious as to why she hadn't just left the theater. Someone as quiet as her seemed like the type who wouldn't be able to stay and watch through something like this, even if it meant her class might lose points.

It was almost like there was some unseen force that was anchoring her in place.

I wonder. was this the same in Yamauchi case?

"Um, do you mind going somewhere else, please? I have something important that I need to talk with Honami-chan about."

"P-please wait a minute, Chihiro-chan. That's um, Well, to tell you the truth, Ayanokouji-kun is..."

She hasn't said it yet, but it's obvious what she means... but maybe... on off the chance...

"What is it?"

"So, Ayanokouji-kun, he's... Well, he's my..."

The room remained mostly quiet during this part.

I imagined most people weren't saying anything because their either didn't care about Shiranami's thoughts, or that they were anxiously waiting to hear the confirmation for the context I had provided earlier.

Easing into the chair, I allowed my back to sink into its soft padding, stretching my arms over the armrests until they found a comfortable position. I closed my eyes, a small sigh escaping as I mentally prepared for what was undoubtedly about to happen.

As Honami hesitated, Ayanokouji-kun took the opportunity to speak in her place.

"I'm just a fr--mmph." He said, but was interrupted.
