Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Breaking Through to Saint-Level, Slaying the Violet Tattooed Bear
Sadius returned to the Misty Valley.
It was time for another period of secluded training. When he emerged next, he would have stepped into the Saint-Level as an Armored Razorback Wyrm.
"Long-One, Long-Two. How many days was I gone this time?"
Sadius had given his two Rank-Eight Velociraptors simple, easy-to-remember names.
Though both beasts had repeatedly emphasized that they had their own proper draconic names, Sadius found them too cumbersome and unpleasant, so he took the liberty of naming them Long-One and Long-Two.
The two dragons were unwilling to accept these names at first, but given Sadius's overwhelming strength, they had no choice but to comply.
"Master, you've been gone for fifteen days."
Only fifteen days?
Sadius had thought he had been in hibernation underground for much longer, yet it had only been a little over two weeks.
"Long-One, take this Rank-Nine Darkness-element Dragoncore. I hope you can use it to break through to Rank-Nine. Even though your Velociraptor lineage is attuned to Fire, this Dragoncore contains pure energy. If you carefully extract the Darkness Element and refine it slowly, it should be enough for your advancement. Long-Two, don't worry either. If I come across another Rank-Nine Magic Core, I'll save it for you. As long as you both guard the entrance to my lair properly, you'll be rewarded well."
The two dragons were overjoyed.
As Velociraptor-type magical beasts, their natural limit was Rank-Seven. Only through the rich elemental energy of Misty Valley had they managed to break through to Rank-Eight.
Advancing further was extremely difficult for them.
But with a Rank-Nine Magic Core, their chances of breaking through skyrocketed.
At this moment, they completely forgot about how Sadius had used them as training dummies in the past or given them such humiliating names.
"Thank you, Master!"
Sadius ignored them and climbed back into his cavern.
Inside the lair, he immediately began his cultivation.
This time, Sadius fully immersed himself in the terrifying sword intent within Bloodviolet.
A terrifying figure appeared in his mind—a man wielding Bloodviolet, standing with his back to Sadius.
Behind this man stretched an endless field of blood and bones, radiating a killing intent that blotted out the heavens.
This horrifying killing intent surged from the illusory scene and struck directly at Sadius's soul, a raging storm of Destruction Sword Intent.
The next moment, the three Dragoncores within Sadius's body trembled. Three distinct energies interwove, continuously channeling power into his soul, suppressing the onslaught of the sword intent.
"Bloodviolet's Sword Intent… You are merely the lingering will of a Fiend that perished long ago! You are not the true Bloodviolet Fiend! You cannot defeat me!"
The fused energies within Sadius relentlessly refined the invading sword intent.
As the sword intent was refined, it transformed into pure Destruction and Slaughter energy, which was absorbed into his Destruction Dragoncore.
Sadius's aura surged wildly.
A violet radiance erupted from his body, his limbs grew sharper, and even the spines on his back became more lethal.
His golden slit pupils glowed with an intensified killing intent.
The cavern trembled as the Seven Elements within it reacted violently.
"ROAR!"
Sadius let out a deafening roar.
Within his mind, his Destruction-element Dragoncore had grown larger, its energy retracting and condensing.
As his aura fully stabilized, his spiritual force suddenly expanded outward, encompassing the entire cavern.
Then, Sadius willed his body to levitate.
Saint-Level!
Sadius had successfully broken through!
With a thought, he controlled his form, shrinking down before soaring out of the cavern.
As soon as he exited, his body expanded once more. Within seconds, his form had grown to a hundred meters in length.
Standing midair, he casually swung a claw toward a distant cliffside.
A seemingly simple strike carried an overwhelming force of Destruction, shattering a massive chunk of the cliff into rubble.
A casual attack—yet it already surpassed his full-power strikes from when he was at Rank-Nine.
"This… is the power of the Laws of the World?"
A Saint-Level being could naturally manipulate the forces of heaven and earth. The sheer might was unfathomable.
Within Misty Valley, countless powerful magical beasts trembled at the sight, prostrating themselves in submission before the newly ascended Saint-Level magical beast.
Sadius paid them no heed and instead soared out of Misty Valley.
Spreading his spiritual awareness, he quickly located the Rank-Nine Violet Tattooed Bear.
After leaving Misty Valley, that beast had hidden away in a deep mountain, cultivating in seclusion.
Only thanks to his mutated soul—far stronger than those of his peers—had Sadius been able to track him down.
"Violet Tattooed Bear, come out!"
Hovering in midair, Sadius roared at the depths of the forest below.
The natural pressure of a Saint-Level being locked the surrounding magical beasts in place, rendering them unable to move.
Deep within the mountain, the Violet Tattooed Bear had been cultivating.
The sudden oppressive presence jolted him out of his meditation.
Lifting his gaze, he saw an enormous Armored Razorback Wyrm staring directly at him from the skies.
Sadius had broken through?!
Disbelief filled the Violet Tattooed Bear's eyes.
Wasn't the Armored Razorback Wyrm one of the most difficult dragon species to advance?
How had Sadius stepped into Saint-Level in just six years?
He had once sworn that he would break through first, then return to Misty Valley to take revenge for the eye he had lost.
Yet now… Sadius had already surpassed him?!
No matter how unwilling he was, the truth was undeniable.
Against a Saint-Level expert, he had no hope of resistance.
The Violet Tattooed Bear stepped out of the forest and climbed atop a mountain peak.
"Sadius… Lord Sadius." The massive bear lowered his head.
Sadius gazed down at the creature.
What was this thing's name again?
…Forget it. These magical beasts always had names that were too cumbersome to remember anyway.
"I recall you swearing vengeance—that one day, you'd return to Misty Valley and take your revenge for your lost eye. So tell me, how do you plan to do that now?"
"I… I…" The Violet Tattooed Bear stammered, unable to form a response.
In this world, strength dictated everything. The weak could only submit to the strong.
"Go train well in the Netherworld. Perhaps you'll get a chance to regain your dignity there."
The Violet Tattooed Bear's heart clenched in fear. He instinctively tried to submit.
But Sadius had no intention of giving him that chance.
This bear's potential was decent—perhaps in three centuries, he could reach Saint-Level.
But what use was a Saint-Level subordinate three hundred years from now?
Given his own talent and comprehension of the Laws, achieving godhood within three centuries would hardly be a challenge.
Slaying this bear and using his Magic Core to reward Long-Two was the far more practical choice.
The Violet Tattooed Bear had anticipated Sadius's hostility.
An Armored Razorback Wyrm was a vengeful creature—how could it possibly let an enemy live?
The bear instantly channeled all his Darkness energy, lashing out with both claws to counter Sadius's attack.
BOOM!
The two titanic beasts clashed, obliterating the mountaintop. Boulders rained in all directions.
The Violet Tattooed Bear was sent flying, deep wounds carved into his body by Sadius's Destruction-infused claws. Even his bones had been fractured.
He gazed at the sky, unwillingness burning in his eyes.
But Sadius paid no attention to his emotions.
With a final swipe, he crushed the bear's skull, then extracted its precious Rank-Nine Magic Core.
