Coiling Dragon: Reborn As The Armored Razorback Wyrm

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Challenge of the Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon

"Yes, I killed the Radiant Church's Pope. So what?"

"Insane, absolutely insane! The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts is no longer safe. I need to lead my clan to the Forest of Darkness . The Radiant Church will definitely send a force of powerful experts to hunt magical beasts!"

Liyah was already preparing to leave.

"That's why we must unite our strength and resist the Radiant Church, don't you think?"

"Resist? With what? A mere handful of Saint-Level magical beasts?"

Was the Saint-Level power of The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts truly weak?

Not necessarily.

In the original story, after Dylin The Suanni Lion (Heaven Devouring Beast), was freed, he led an army of magical beasts to devastate both the Holy Union and the Dark Alliance, even forcing the legendary Saints into dire straits.

And Dylin himself didn't even have to take action that often—his army of Saint-Level magical beasts was enough to settle matters.

Thus, if the entirety of The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts could be unified, any force beneath the Deity level on the Yulan continent would have little to fear.

"Don't you desire to evolve into the legendary Violet Gold King Stone Eater Rat? That would elevate you to the Saint-Level."

The two rodents hesitated, while Liyah, who had just been clamoring to flee, now curiously turned to Sadius.

"If we form an alliance, I guarantee that I can help you reach the Saint-Level."

"How can you guarantee that?"

"I can swear an Oath to the Highgod."

"Squeak? (What is an Oath to the Highgod?)"

Liyah ignored the Stone-Eater Rats' question.

"That's not enough. We need proof of your strength—proof that you are capable of unifying The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts."

Sadius chuckled. "That's simple."

From what he knew, there were no Saint-Level magical beasts in the range who had comprehended the Laws.

Of course, there was always the chance that one had recently broken through.

But as someone possessing a Soul Mutation of three elements, Sadius was already powerful enough to dominate any Saint-Level beast that had yet to comprehend the Laws.

Even against those who had begun to grasp the Laws, he could still endure their attacks and retreat safely.

"Why don't I personally select a Saint-Level magical beast to fight? You can judge my strength for yourself."

Liyah nodded. If Sadius was truly strong enough, she was willing to form an alliance with him.

After feasting, the assembled beasts deliberated on which Saint-Level beast to challenge first.

Currently, aside from the newly ascended Sadius, there were seven known Saint-Level magical beasts within the mountain range:

The Saint-Level Violet-Eyed Golden-Haired Ape, the Saint-Level Blood-Eyed Mane Lion, the Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon, the Saint-Level Thunder Dragon, the Saint-Level Earthshatter Bear, the Saint-Level Thunderbolt Panther, and the Saint-Level Thunderwing White Tiger.

Among them, the strongest was the Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon, who had once effortlessly slain a human Saint-Level magus who sought to tame him, earning widespread renown throughout the region.

Liyah's proposal was straightforward: if Sadius could defeat the Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon head-on, she would willingly form an alliance and acknowledge him as their leader.

Sadius agreed without hesitation.

As an Armored Razorback Wyrm, his strength was on par with a Tyrant Dragon of the same level. Both species, at the Saint-Level, were equivalent to peak human Saints.

Though the Tyrant Dragon had been a Saint for many years, Sadius had undergone a Soul Mutation of three elements. He was confident that his power surpassed that of the Tyrant Dragon.

"One thing I forgot to mention," Liyah said. "The Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon and the Saint-Level Thunder Dragon are inseparable. If you challenge one, the other will not stand idly by."

"So what? Even if I can't defeat them both, I can retreat unscathed."

With a wave of his hand, Sadius summoned a long spear.

"A Deity-level weapon!" Liyah immediately recognized its extraordinary nature.

"I took this from the Radiant Church's Pope after I killed him. This artifact isn't just a spear—it can also function as a mage's staff, amplifying magic."

Although only a Lesser Deity artifact, the materials used to craft it were extraordinary.

The spear shaft was composed of an unknown substance, seemingly both metallic and wooden. Its spearhead appeared to be fashioned from the horn of a Saint-Level magical beast, while its pommel was adorned with seven small magicite cores of different elements.

This weapon served both as a melee weapon and a mage's staff, refined into a Deity artifact by a Lesser Deity over time.

Only an organization as vast as the Radiant Church, which spanned multiple material planes, could possess such a weapon.

This was why the Saint-Level Magus Pope of the Radiant Church could wield it to unleash the powerful spell Serpent Dance of Fire.

Of course, Sadius had no intention of revealing that he also possessed an Upper Deity artifact and a damaged Sovereign artifact.

A single Lesser Deity artifact was already enough to shock them.

"Let's go meet the Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon."

With that, Sadius stowed his artifact and took to the sky.

The two rodent-type magical beasts climbed onto the backs of two Rank-Nine Wyverns and followed behind him.

As for the two Raptors, they could only run along the ground, enviously watching the flying beasts. At this moment, they wished more than anything that they, too, were Saint-Level magical beasts.

Flying eastward, Sadius soon spotted the resting Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon.

The massive beast was sprawled atop a boulder, basking in the sun.

"Helasor, long time no see."

Powerful dragons often had true names, and this Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon was known as Helasor.

Sadius had encountered him before and naturally knew his name.

The Tyrant Dragon roused, lifting his head to gaze at Sadius hovering above.

"You! That Rank-Nine Armored Razorback Wyrm! You've reached the Saint-Level!"

Helasor had met Sadius before but had never bothered to learn his name. After all, he had merely been a Rank-Nine beast then.

The Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon had never expected this Armored Razorback Wyrm to ascend to the Saint-Level so soon.

Wasn't the Armored Razorback Wyrm known as one of the most difficult dragon-type beasts to reach Saint-Level?

With a mighty flap of his wings, the Saint-Level Tyrant Dragon soared into the sky.

"Your domain is in the Misty Valley. What business do you have in my territory?"

All magical beasts were territorial, and those of equal rank rarely intruded upon one another's domains.

Even human Saints, when traversing the Magical Beast Mountain Range, would take care to avoid the territories of Saint-Level beasts.

"Helasor, I, Sadius, have come to challenge you. If you lose, you must submit to me!"

Helasor roared in fury. "You dare challenge me?"

"Fight me. If you lose, you are mine."

"Hah! Then you will die here today!"

And so, the battle between two Saint-Level beasts began.
