Bully's second chance

"We are hunting an ancient beast." Karl explains his plan to Joselina and Fen.

After hearing the plan Fen is jumping around in excitement while Joselina is skeptical about the plan. 'Just why are you helping us this much?' This question is still remains unanswered in Joselina's mind. All of them go inside the guild building.

"Anyways, I am taking my leave here." Karl says.

"W-Why? You can live here with us." Fen suggests.

Karl crouches down and pats Fen's head. "I have some things to take care of. Don't worry, I will come tomorrow in the early morning and go we go for the hunt afterwards."

Joselina smiles at his brother. "Come I escort you out." She suggests.

Karl and Joselina exits the building towards the main road. "Fen likes you."

"I know."

They reach the main gate and Joselina stops. "Don't betray him." Joselina leaks a bit of killing intent on purpose.

Karl continues walking and waves his hand. "Come on, I am not that heartless."

After leaving the sabre guild, Karl goes straight to his dorm at the academy. He turns around the corner and sees two black boxes on his doorstep.

Karl picks up the bigger one and his watches vibrates aggressively. He taps on it. A window opens showing a bill which is already paid.

'Finally, it's here.' After he realizes what's in the black box, he quickly opens the box. Inside, is the armour which he bought not too long ago. It's looks quite good on Karl. He opens the second box and there are 5 bottles of potions. There is note on a potion written by Ian.

[Don't drink it in one go -Ian]

He takes both of the boxes inside and changes into a new pair of clothes. For now, he decides not to drink the mana recovery potions and save them all for the hunt. With his chest still burning in pain, he can't train or use any spells. Therefore, Karl decides to take a nap.

He wakes up around 8pm. He stretches a bit and goes to the mess for dinner. On the way, Karl calls Andressa to meet up so he can apologize for his past actions but surprisingly she doesn't answer the call. At the mess, he takes ton of high fat and protein food. He sits at an isolated corner and eats his dinner in peace. Not knowning everyone is glancing at him for some reason.

After finishing the food properly, Karl goes back to his dorm. He lies down on bed and watches couple of combat related videos till late night.

Around 9am, Karl wakes up with blood on his bed. Apparently, it still bleeds from his nose from time to time. After changing the bedsheets, he proceeds to do all his daily necessities and goes upstairs to take a shower. While showering, Karl notices that everyone present is staring at him. But such thing is now normal occurrence for Karl therefore he ignores it. He comes down and wears his new armour.

It feels lighter than Karl expected. He stretches a bit to check his mobility. Suddenly, a painful sensation comes from his chest which felt throughout his body. Somehow his body refuses to exhales. Karl coughs loudly, he quickly runs to the toilet and vomits blood. A lot of blood. After he is down sits on the floor, his throat on fire and stomach hurting like crazy. He glances at the small pool of blood and sees 3 teethes floating inside the toilet.

3 molar teeth fell down from Karl's mouth. A cold sensation hits Karl, the fear of dying with regret draws closer. He quickly runs down and grabs one of the 5 potions from the box. Karl forcefully opens the cap and drinks the entire bottle in one go. His head starts to spin. But he can feel mana recovering faster in his body. He is not tried but he is panting as if he ran a marathon. He lays down on the flat ground and stares at the celling.

After 20 minutes Karl calmed down. He stands up, feeling a good amount of mana in his own body after a long time. Karl puts all 4 potions, his guild card along with his debit card into the void storage. Now ready, Karl opens the door and goes straight to the Sabre guild.

Joselina is currently sitting on the counter in her armour and battle axe in hand.

"Are you scared?" She asks without moving.

Fen shakes his head. "No. I believe in Big brother."

"Why do you like him this much?"

Fen who is sitting on the stairs stands up. "I had a dream. That our guild is full of people and you are sitting in your cabin talking to uncle Tarak. I was on the counter, doing my work. Big sister came down along with Uncle Tarak and smiled at a man standing beside me. That man looked similar to Big brother."

Joselina looks back at her brother. 'Another prophecy? Or a mere dream.'

CLICK! The main door opens and Karl walks in. "You ready?"

Joselina nods. Fen waves at her sister and Karl as they sit into a cab.

"Where to good sir?" The driver asks.

"To the Phirsecot Estate."

After 40 minutes driving the cab reaches the castle's main gate. Karl steps out of the cab and sees Ian standing at the gate.

"Come, Father is waiting for you." Joselina doesn't say much and follows Ian inside. He takes them straight to the throne room. Ray is sitting on the throne just like last time. Karl notices that the damages from the last time are all repaired. Seeing the high knight, Joselina kneels in respect.

"Father! They are here."

"Hmm." Ray grunts. Karl senses mana coming out from Ray's direction.

"Let me revise the plan." Hector walks up from behind. "The ancient beast Koraet is lurking closer to the city as we speak. The federation had issued a special priority quest of killing this beast to all the high ranking guilds in the city. Countless adventurers went accepted the quest and became food of Koraet which only helped in it's growth. With the recent vampire invasion our city's troops are exhausted, making them not ready for battle. Therefore, the federation has issued the staggering reward of 3 purple photons to anyone who will kill this beast. Now, our lord has accepted the quest to kill Koraet with the assistance of Sabre guild. 30% of any found loot will go to the Sabre guild while the remaining loot will go to the Phirsecot knighthood. 2 out of three purple photons will be go to the Sabre guild and the remaining one will be given to the Phirsecot knighthood. Do you agree? The guildmaster of the Sabre guild?"

Everyone present in the room looks at Joselina. "I agree."

Hector walks towards Joselina and takes her sign on a contract.

"We will began marching in 10 minutes. Prepare yourselves." Ray announces and disappears from his seat. Joselina stands up.

"This is great. If we defeat the beast the fame of Sabre guild will skyrocket among adventurers as it will be the only guild to successfully hunt an ancient beast." Ian speculates.

'Not to mention the money.' Karl thinks as he is grinning like an idiot.

"Sir Leonard. The lord has called you in the office." Hector suddenly reveals. Karl looks at Joselina.

"Don't worry, I show her around the castle." Ian gives a thumbs up.

Karl nods and follows Hector to the office. Inside, Ray is sitting on the chair in full plate light azure colour, he is missing the helmet.

"Looks like you are in good condition." Karl says as he sees Ray in full plate.

"Hardly. I managed to regain about 60% of my strength. But it won't last for long."

"Better than nothing and thanks for helping Sabre guild." Karl says it in a soft tone.

"It was nothing. As long as I can exterminate that beast from this world, I don't care about anything else."

"About that. How are you going to do it?"

Ray picks up a file and hands it to Karl. He opens it and inside are pictures of horrific creature which looks like it came straight from hell. No fix structure, no exposed weakness and no limit of how long it can grow. This was Koraet. According to the file the remains of the largest one ever found was around 50 kilometres long and 12 kilometres wide. The only way to kill Koraet is to exterminate every worm present in it's body. Karl stops halfway and puts the file down.

"If the things said in this file is true then we are doomed."

"No, we have you."

"What do you mean?"

"On the last page, there is schematic of it's insides. On that you can see a small black worm at the centre of it's body. Apparently, it works as some sort of brain for the creature. If we kill that worm the body will collapse for few seconds in that time I will remove the parasite from my body and burn it."

"Then we will kill quadrillions of motionless worms before it can regenerate. Cool." Karl cuts in and completes the sentence. He comes closer to Ray.

"How are we killing this black worm?"

Ray smirks. "It's easy. By feeding you to the ancient beast."
