BTTH: The Legend Of Xiu Emperor

Chapter 21: Sudden Guests

Half a month later.

Back Mountain.

"Hu..."

Hun Xiu let out a long breath. Over the past half month, his strength had risen to the level of a five-star Dou Ling.

Although such strength was not considered very powerful within the vast Soul Clan, it placed him as a leader among his peers.

After all, among the young generation of his era, if Hun Xiu claimed to be invincible, who would dare to dispute it?

Hun Feng and the others? Even if they teamed up, Hun Xiu could easily overpower them and teach them a lesson.

In this short time, Hun Xiu's cultivation had not only advanced, but his fighting skills had also been upgraded from the Xuan level to the Di level.

(Xuan/Black,

Di/Earth)

The earth-level fighting skills he currently practiced were the God-Killing Palm, God-Robbing Fist, and The Wind and Thunder Divine Kick.

These were all high-level earth-rank techniques. When combined with the previously mastered skills, they could display power comparable to earth-level fighting techniques.

Originally, these techniques—Man-Killing Palm, Destruction Fist, and The Wind and Thunder Divine Kick—were part of a single set. However, due to certain circumstances, the set had been divided into four ranks: Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow.

After mastering these three high-level earth-rank techniques, Hun Xiu refrained from heading to the Fighting Skills Pavilion to seek out heaven-rank techniques.

He felt that his current situation was satisfactory.

For now, his focus had to be on strengthening his core abilities. Although heaven-rank techniques were undoubtedly superior, they required immense power to be fully utilized.

With his current strength, a single use of an earth-rank technique would leave him drained. How could he possibly handle the burden of a heaven-rank skill?

Training in such techniques would be futile without the necessary strength to support them.

Thus, for the time being, he decided to prioritize cultivating his dou qi, improving his realm, and consolidating his foundation.

While fighting skills were valuable, they were ultimately external tools. True power came from within.

As the saying goes: No matter the time or place, strength is the ultimate key.

---

"Young Master, the clan leader requests your presence."

Hun Xiu had just finished training when a middle-aged man dressed in a black robe silently appeared behind him. The man's voice was respectful, yet his arrival was so quiet it startled Hun Xiu.

Silently?

Such strength could have easily ended Hun Xiu's life without him even realizing it.

"My father is looking for me?"

Hun Xiu blinked in surprise. He looked at the middle-aged man and asked curiously, "Uncle San, do you know why my father wants to see me?"

The middle-aged man, Hun San, was Hun Xiu's personal bodyguard, tasked with ensuring his safety.

As for Hun San's strength?

Hun Xiu didn't know for certain. In his estimation, however, Hun San was at least at the Dou Huang level.

Any less than that would be unthinkable.

Given Hun Xiu's status as the son of Emperor Hun Tian, assigning a mere Dou Wang-level guard would be laughable.

To show respect and familiarity, Hun Xiu often addressed Hun San as "Uncle San."

Hun San shook his head. "I don't know, young master. The clan leader seems to be hosting important guests. He asked me to escort you to the hall immediately."

"Oh, I see."

Hun Xiu stood up and dusted off his robes.

"Let's go!"

He began walking forward, his short legs moving briskly. At just over seven years old, he was still a child. Although he could be called a teenager in some regards, his small stature meant it would take a few more years for him to grow taller.

"Young Master, this is too slow."

Hun San shook his head, amused by Hun Xiu's pace.

"Hmm? What should we do, then?"

Hun Xiu stopped and blinked, looking up at Hun San.

"My apologies, young master."

Before Hun Xiu could respond, Hun San gently lifted him. In a flash, they transformed into a stream of light, soaring away from the back mountain.

The speed was overwhelming, and Hun Xiu had to shut his eyes. When he opened them again, they were already at the hall's entrance.

Hun San set him down and apologized, "Young master, forgive me for the abruptness. These are special circumstances."

Hun Xiu shook his head with a smile. "It's fine, Uncle San. You've explained the situation, and I understand."

Inwardly, however, Hun Xiu was astonished.

Uncle San's strength isn't at the Dou Huang level—I've underestimated him! To stand in the air like that, he must be at least Dou Zong!

Hun San observed Hun Xiu's momentary daze and gently reminded him, "Young master, the clan leader is waiting inside."

"Oh!"

Hun Xiu snapped out of his thoughts and nodded. He turned toward the hall's door and walked in, his small legs carrying him forward.

Inside the Hall

Upon entering, Hun Xiu immediately noticed two figures.

One was his father, Hun Tian Di, and the other was a man in a black robe. The two stood talking and laughing as if they were old friends.

A small child, two or three years old, clung to the black-robed man's leg. Her big, watery eyes occasionally peeked at Hun Xiu before quickly hiding again.

She was undeniably adorable, her actions so endearing that Hun Xiu's heart melted.

He resisted the urge to rush over and pinch her chubby cheeks, choosing instead to observe her quietly.

Who is she? he wondered. And who is this man speaking so casually with Father?

Hun Tian Di's status in the Soul Clan was unparalleled, and there was only one person within the clan who could stand as his equal—the Void Devouring Flame.

However, this man in black was not the Void Devouring Flame.

Hun Xiu couldn't suppress his curiosity.

---

The black-robed man, Gu Yuan, turned his attention to Hun Xiu as he entered. He assessed the boy's bloodline and cultivation with a discerning gaze.

This child's talent is terrifying, he thought. At seven years old, he's already at the level of a five-star Dou Ling.

Although such strength was insignificant to Gu Yuan, it was extraordinary for someone so young.

If nothing unexpected happens, this boy will undoubtedly become a Dou Di in the future.

Gu Yuan's eyes lingered on Hun Xiu. In that moment, it was as if he saw the image of a young Dou Di standing before him.
