After leaving the Yun Lan Sect, Mo Yu and Xiao Yan decided to leave the imperial capital and return to Wu Tan City. It had already been two or three years since the two left their family for training.

Both Mo Yu and Xiao Yan felt a lingering attachment to their family deep in their hearts. Now, with some free time, it was the perfect opportunity to return to the Xiao Clan.

Mo Yu, in particular, missed his reincarnated grandfather deeply. Now that matters in the Jia Ma Empire were mostly resolved and his strength had reached a bottleneck, it was time to embark on a new journey.

Whether going to Jia Nan Academy or traveling to Central Plains for further training, it would be years before they could return again. So, before departing, he wanted to spend more time with the elders in the Xiao Clan.

After bidding farewell to Hai Bodong and Ling Ying, Mo Yu and Xiao Yan spent half a month traveling before finally descending near the outskirts of Wu Tan City.

Upon landing, Mo Yu and Xiao Yan exchanged glances, and with a hint of excitement on their faces, they walked quickly towards the wide-open city gates.

As they approached the gates, Mo Yu glanced up at the large characters "Wu Tan City" above the gate, pausing as he listened to the bustling noise coming through the passageway. He murmured to himself, "Wu Tan City, we're back."

Xiao Yan also displayed a touch of joy on his face. He turned and smiled, "Let's go, Cousin Mo Yu. It's been a long time since we've been home. Father and Butler Mo will be happy to see you."

Mo Yu nodded with a smile, "Yes, it's time to visit home. But compared to me, you should be the one returning to the clan. As the saying goes, 'It's like wearing a brocade robe at night if you don't return home with riches.' Xiao Yan, you've returned in glory, and the whole clan will be proud of you."

Hearing this, Xiao Yan was momentarily stunned, then scratched his head with a smile.

With the end of the three-year agreement with the Yun Lan Sect, the name of the "Xiao Clan's Twin Dragons" spread widely across the empire, and it was known that Yao Xiao was Xiao Yan, drawing much attention.

After all, each champion of the Alchemist Grand Meeting would become a significant figure in the empire. The Xiao Clan, once a small, inconspicuous family, had gained considerable fame with the rise of Xiao Yan. Even neighboring empires had heard of him.

The news of his success would undoubtedly bring great joy to the entire clan.

The two walked through the city gates and passed through the dark passageway, and their view suddenly widened. Mo Yu looked up slightly, and the familiar streets from his memories appeared before him.

As they walked through Wu Tan City, Mo Yu and Xiao Yan, familiar with the streets, soon found their steps slowing as they arrived in front of a large courtyard at the end of a street. The grand entrance bore the name "Xiao Clan."

Standing at the entrance of the Xiao Clan, Mo Yu's eyebrows furrowed, and he swept his gaze around the surroundings, sensing something amiss.

Though the Xiao Clan was not significant in the empire, it was one of the most prominent families in Wu Tan City. The entrance, usually bustling with activity, now seemed unusually quiet. Even the guards, who usually stood in formation at the gate, were nowhere to be seen.

Seeing this, a sense of unease crept into Mo Yu's heart.

Turning to Xiao Yan, he noticed that Xiao Yan's expression had also hardened.

"Cousin Xiao Yan, let's go inside and see what's happening," Mo Yu said seriously.

"Alright," Xiao Yan replied with a solemn nod.

Though they had been away from the family for years, the layout of the Xiao Clan was still familiar to them. Their footsteps lightly trod along the cobblestone path, passing through several small pathways before arriving at a spacious hall that gradually came into view.

As they approached the wide hall, they could hear the chaotic sounds of commotion and even the clashing of weapons, causing Mo Yu and Xiao Yan to frown simultaneously.

"It seems the clan has encountered some trouble…" Xiao Yan muttered with a dark expression.

For Xiao Yan, the family was undoubtedly the most sensitive part of his heart. He would not allow it to suffer any harm. The saying goes, a dragon has its reverse scale; touch it and face death!

Mo Yu patted Xiao Yan's shoulder and said solemnly, "Something is definitely wrong. But no matter what happens, as long as we have strength, we have the power to control our fate. With our abilities, no one in Wu Tan City can threaten the Xiao Clan!"

Hearing this, Xiao Yan's tightly furrowed brow relaxed slightly, and he nodded, "Cousin is right. No matter who it is, those who offend my Xiao Clan shall be destroyed, no matter how strong!"

The murderous intent in his words caused Mo Yu's eyebrows to raise slightly. He then nodded thoughtfully, looking towards the Xiao Clan hall.

Exchanging a glance, Mo Yu and Xiao Yan stepped into the hall together.

As they entered, the scene within the hall unfolded before their eyes.

The spacious hall was dimly lit, the atmosphere heavy with tension. Dozens of powerful auras filled the air without restraint.

Inside the hall, there were over a hundred people, divided into two opposing groups, glaring at each other with hostility. It looked as if a violent clash was on the verge of erupting.

Among those seated at the front of one group were members of the Xiao Clan.

At the forefront of the Xiao Clan's side sat three elders, but their faces were pale. Judging from the traces of Dou Qi that they couldn't quite conceal, they had clearly suffered serious injuries.

Opposite the Xiao Clan members sat a group of fierce-looking men. Among the leaders, three were seated on grand chairs. One of them was the head of the Jia Lie Clan, Jia Lie Bi, who had previously suffered heavy losses at the hands of the Xiao Clan.

Another was the head of the Aoba Clan, Aoba Dun, which was once one of the three major clans in Wu Tan City, alongside the Xiao Clan.

As for the third person, he was a stranger. Dressed in an alchemist's robe with a stern expression, he appeared to be around fifty years old. What drew the most attention was the emblem on his robe—a cauldron with three silver ripples that seemed to move like living things.

A third-grade alchemist!

Seeing this scene, Mo Yu and Xiao Yan's expressions darkened.

In Wu Tan City, a place without even an Alchemist Association, a third-grade alchemist could command respect from any faction.

The combined forces of the Jia Lie Clan, the Aoba Clan, and this unfamiliar third-tier alchemist meant that the Xiao Clan was in serious trouble!

Mo Yu couldn't help but worry whether this situation might involve the influence of the Yun Lan Sect. Despite his intervention, was the Yun Lan Sect still targeting the Xiao Clan?

"Young Clan Leader, Elder Mo, you've finally returned!"

As Mo Yu and Xiao Yan assessed the situation in the hall, the crowd finally noticed the two figures who had entered quietly. When they recognized the two slender silhouettes, an old voice, filled with hope and joy, rang out in the hall.

The speaker, the Great Elder, relaxed his previously tense body, and tears of relief rolled down his aged face.

Hearing these two names, Jia Lie Bi was stunned and turned to look back. But when he saw the two young figures at the entrance, his face turned pale, as if he had seen a ghost, and panic flickered in his eyes.

"Xiao Clan's Twin Dragons—how is this possible? Didn't you both die!?"
