BTTH : From the beginning of the battle to the top

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Battle

One month later.

In a dense forest within the Beast Mountain Range, two figures, one large and one small, stood facing each other in the sky.

"Despicable humans, you have gone too far in your oppression of beasts. Leave this place immediately, and you may keep your life; otherwise, today you will have no place to be buried." A massive beast, entirely covered in golden-red fur, roared fiercely at the figure ahead, surrounded by green flames. It was the ruler of this region of the Beast Mountain Range, the Firestorm Lion.

The Firestorm Lion was a third-tier beast at birth and could become a sixth-tier beast upon maturity. Once it reached the sixth tier, its fur would turn golden, and as its strength increased and its bloodline evolved, fiery red patterns would gradually appear on its body.

The Firestorm Lion before them was enormous, measuring five to six meters in length, with wings sprouting from its back. Its golden mane shimmered in the sunlight, and fiery red patterns covered about a third of its body, indicating that it possessed strength comparable to a three-star Human Battle Emperor.

"Lion King, I am intentionally provoking you today to test my current strength. As the king of beasts here, you cannot back down. If you want to live, then show me everything you can do to overcome this life-and-death trial!" Lin Yuan, standing opposite the Firestorm Lion, spread his wings and stood in the void, surrounded by swirling green flames. His gaze was deep as he spoke with a hint of disdain, provoking the Firestorm Lion, while his left hand behind his back gathered energy that felt almost tangible.

Hearing this, the Firestorm Lion let out a roar, "Roar~! You speak arrogantly, foolish human! Do you think you can defeat me just by wounding me with a sneak attack? Little human Battle King, watch as I destroy you!"

With a furious roar, a violent wave of energy erupted from the Firestorm Lion, igniting fierce flames that painted half the sky red, exuding a fierce and intimidating aura. However, upon closer inspection, one could see a blood hole about half a meter in diameter in the lion's abdomen, with golden-red blood occasionally oozing out.

"Come on, let me see your limits." Lin Yuan chuckled lightly, and then a massive amount of battle energy and flames surged from his body. Unlike the energy released by the Firestorm Lion, Lin Yuan's energy did not spread outward; instead, it swirled and retracted, transforming under his excellent control into a uniquely shaped blue long spear, surrounded by green flames that emitted destructive waves as the flames flickered.

With a wave of his hand, the energy he had previously gathered transformed into several blue fireballs that shot toward the Firestorm Lion, while he himself followed closely behind, holding the spear.

Seeing this, the Firestorm Lion spat out more red fireballs to intercept the incoming projectiles and counterattacked Lin Yuan. However, the fireballs did not hinder Lin Yuan's movements; he nimbly dodged all the fireballs in mid-air and, in the blink of an eye, arrived beside the Firestorm Lion, thrusting the spear toward its heart.

The Firestorm Lion looked warily at the blue spear surrounded by green flames, sensing that the energy and high temperature on the spear could penetrate its formidable physical defenses. Its eyes narrowed, and a rich blood-red energy erupted from within, enveloping its body like armor.

The two forces collided, and energy clashed in the air, producing a series of explosive sounds. With a loud "bang," Lin Yuan was sent flying backward. Indeed, competing in strength with the massive sixth-tier Firestorm Lion was not advantageous for him.

Seizing the opportunity, the Firestorm Lion pursued Lin Yuan, its sharp claws gathering massive energy as it swiped at him, determined to tear apart this audacious human.

Seeing this, Lin Yuan revealed a knowing smile, having already gathered a small amount of battle energy in his feet, which he lightly tapped in a peculiar manner in mid-air.

"Attacking is when one is most likely to expose weaknesses, especially for large creatures, as inertia limits their agility."

"Now's my chance. Cloud Dragon Spin."

The Cloud Dragon Spin was a technique from the Cloud Dragon movement style, which Lin Yuan had created by integrating his own experiences with various movement techniques he had learned, such as Instant Step, Swimming Dragon Step, Cloud Dragon Dance, and others. Although it required high control over battle energy, soul perception, and physical prowess, it far surpassed advanced movement techniques in terms of agility and speed.

With a light movement, Lin Yuan completed the unloading of force and precisely dodged the incoming claws by mere millimeters, spinning around to appear at the side of the Firestorm Lion.

Lin Yuan thrust his spear, striking the junction between the Firestorm Lion's side and its outstretched forearm, unleashing a tremendous force that distorted the lion's normal flying motion.

Quick to seize the opportunity, Lin Yuan continued to unleash rapid attacks, using his beast-like strength and power combined with his robust battle energy to keep the Firestorm Lion firmly suppressed. At the same time, Lin Yuan released his soul perception to anticipate the Firestorm Lion's movements, rendering its chaotic counterattacks ineffective against Lin Yuan's agile movements and powerful perception. Thus, a rare scene unfolded on the battlefield: a human and a beast engaged in close combat, with the human firmly suppressing the beast.

As the battle progressed, the Firestorm Lion sustained more and more injuries, and the wound from Lin Yuan's earlier sneak attack, "Heavenly Fire Calamity, Setting Sun Divine Shot," continued to worsen.

Feeling its injuries worsening in the struggle without inflicting damage on the human before it, the Firestorm Lion steeled its resolve. As Lin Yuan raised his spear to attack again, it abandoned defense, allowing the long spear to pierce its body, then swiped a claw at Lin Yuan, intending to exchange injury for life.

However, Lin Yuan, already alert, released the grip on his spear the moment it pierced the Firestorm Lion, deliberately using the force of the lion's swipe to fly backward, calling out lightly, "Explode."

The blue spear embedded in the Firestorm Lion erupted with a loud bang, unleashing green flames and battle energy that engulfed the lion's form.

As Lin Yuan flew backward, he also conjured several high-speed rotating blue fire cones that shot toward the center of the explosion like shooting stars.

"Heavenly Fire Calamity, Meteor Fall."

Under the guidance of Lin Yuan's soul power, the blue fire cones continuously struck the Firestorm Lion within the fiery storm, resulting in a series of explosions.

"Roar~!" A thunderous beast roar accompanied the explosion of energy, dispersing the fiery storm and revealing the Firestorm Lion's battered body, its breath significantly weakened.

"Damn human, today I will pay any price to tear you apart!" The injured Firestorm Lion's killing intent intensified. Looking at Lin Yuan, who still exuded a strong aura, a flash of blood light flickered in its eyes as it began to activate its bloodline power. Its previously weakened aura surged, becoming more powerful, frenzied, and violent.

Indeed, the Firestorm Lion possessed a violent bloodline similar to that of the Snow Demon Sky Ape, which is the origin of the "Frenzy" in its name. Activating its bloodline allowed it to gain explosive power for a short time, but it would also become affected and turn frenzied, followed by a period of weakness after the frenzy ended.

"Oh? Have you activated your violent bloodline? Interesting." Lin Yuan had no intention of interrupting; instead, he watched with great interest, as he wanted to measure his strength against the Firestorm Lion seriously.

With the activation of its bloodline, the Firestorm Lion's aura reached a strength comparable to a six-star Battle Emperor.

"Very good, this is the opponent I was looking forward to. Let's begin the next round." With that, Lin Yuan clenched his hand, compressing and gathering endless battle energy and green flames to form a uniquely shaped blue long spear. Notably, the spearhead was spiral-shaped, resembling a drill bit. Lin Yuan, holding the spear, charged fearlessly toward the frenzied Firestorm Lion.

"Human, today you will die."
