Brother Jenner

Chapter 8: Chapter 16-17-18

Chapter 16

Scarlett was nervous. It wasn't like her to feel this way, but that morning, the weight of what she was about to do took over her thoughts. She had made a serious commitment to Scott, and now it was time to include her daughter, Rose, in the new dynamic.

Scarlett knew that her daughter was perceptive and had already noticed the closeness between her and Scott, but officially communicating this would be an important step for them.

It was a Saturday afternoon, and the sun was shining through the large windows of the house, casting a warm light into the living room where Rose was playing with her favorite toys.

Scarlett and Scott were sitting on the couch, chatting casually, when Scarlett decided the moment was right. She looked over at Scott, who gave her an encouraging smile, gently taking her hand. He knew how much this moment meant to her.

"Rose," Scarlett called to her daughter softly. "Can I talk to you for a minute, sweetie?"

Rose, a bright and lively little girl, ran over to her mother and threw herself on the couch next to her. "What's wrong, Mommy?" she asked curiously, her innocent eyes darting from Scarlett to Scott.

Scarlett took a deep breath, keeping her tone calm and reassuring. "Well, you know Scott's been around a lot lately, right?"

Rose nodded, playing with a strand of her hair. "Yeah, he's nice. I like it when he comes to visit."

Scott smiled at Rose. He'd always been comfortable with children, but his relationship with Rose had developed in a special way. She reminded him of how simple and joyful life could be, even with all the complexities around it.

"I like spending time with you too, Rose," Scott said softly, trying to ease the conversation.

Scarlett continued, still smiling, but now with a more serious tone. "I wanted to tell you something important. Scott and I... we're dating."

Rose frowned for a second, processing the information. She knew what it meant when adults dated, and the concept wasn't foreign to her. She had seen her mother in other relationships before, but something about Scott seemed different. He was always kind, protective, and made her laugh.

"So, he's your boyfriend?" Rose asked, with a mix of curiosity and understanding.

Scarlett nodded, squeezing Scott's hand. "Yes, honey. Scott and I have decided that we want to be together in a special way. What do you think about that?"

Rose looked at Scott for a moment, her eyes wide and expressive, as if she were assessing the situation. After a brief silence, she smiled broadly. "I like Scott. He's funny and strong. And he cares for you, Mommy."

Scarlett felt immense relief at hearing this. "Yes, he cares for me. And he really likes you too, Rose."

Scott leaned in a little, getting closer to Rose, keeping his tone gentle and warm. "I really like you, Rose. And I want us to be friends, besides dating your mom. What do you think about doing more things together, like going to the park or even watching movies whenever you want?"

Rose clapped her hands together excitedly. "That would be awesome! Can we watch 'Frozen' again?" she asked, laughing.

Scott laughed along, a little surprised by the request, but willing to do anything to make Rose happy. "Sure! We can watch it as many times as you want."

Scarlett, watching the interaction, felt a sense of peace grow inside her. Seeing how Scott treated Rose with such care and affection reinforced the certainty that she had made the right choice. It wasn't just the fact that they were in a serious relationship, but the way he respected the family dynamic she had already built with her daughter.

"Then it's settled," Scarlett said with a smile, relieved and happy that she had been honest with Rose and had received such a positive response.

As the afternoon wore on, Scarlett, Scott, and Rose spent time together, playing games and planning future activities. The mood was light and relaxed, and for the first time since they started dating, Scarlett felt like everything was in the right place. They were starting something new, something that, with Rose's support, had even more meaning.

For Scott, that moment of acceptance from Rose was important too. He knew how much Scarlett valued her relationship with her daughter, and making sure Rose felt comfortable with him in their lives was crucial. Now, he saw himself not only in a relationship with Scarlett, but as part of a new family in the making.

Chapter 17

Scarlett was excited and a little anxious. She and Scott were in a great place in their relationship, and now it was time to formally introduce him to her family. She knew how protective her mother, Melanie, father, Karsten, and brother, Hunter, were, especially after their recent separation.

But Scarlett was confident that they would warm to Scott, especially once they learned more about his past and the kind of man he was. She decided to host a dinner party at her home, a comfortable, intimate setting where they could all get to know each other better.

Scott, always calm and collected, was eager to make a good impression, although she also knew that as a former Delta Force member, his track record would probably speak for itself. That night, Scarlett was in her kitchen putting the finishing touches on dinner when she heard the doorbell ring.

"They're here!" she said, looking at Scott with a nervous smile.

"It's going to be okay," Scott said, reassuring her with his steady voice and warm smile. He kissed her on the forehead before she went to open the door.

When she opened the door, Scarlett was greeted by her brother, Hunter, followed by her parents. Hunter, always playful and protective, gave her a tight hug.

"I finally get to meet the guy who's been taking care of my sister," Hunter said with a teasing smile. He quickly extended his hand to Scott, shaking it firmly but also with an appraising look. "Scott, right? I've heard a lot about you."

Scott shook Hunter's hand, looking him in the eye with confidence but not aggression. "Yeah, nice to meet you, Hunter. Scarlett talks about you a lot too."

The initial tension soon subsided, and the two began to chat casually as Melanie and Karsten entered the room. Melanie, always attentive, hugged Scarlett before turning her attention to Scott.

"You must be Scott," she said with a warm smile. "We're glad to finally meet you. Scarlett has been speaking highly of you."

Karsten, in turn, gave Scott a firm handshake. Scott, being more reserved, watched Scott carefully, but there was a sense of mutual respect that formed right away.

As dinner began, conversation flowed naturally. Scarlett was relieved to see that her family seemed to genuinely like Scott. They laughed and talked about light topics at first, but eventually, Hunter, curious as ever, asked the question Scarlett knew was coming.

"So, Scott, I heard you have a military background. Former Delta Force, right?" Hunter asked, his eyes narrowing with interest.

Scott, ever modest, nodded. "Yes, I spent a few years in the Special Forces. I was part of Delta Force for a while. It was an intense experience, but it taught me a lot about teamwork, responsibility, and of course, protection."

Melanie, intrigued, looked at Scarlett with a smile. "I like that. Knowing you have someone so strong and protective by your side is comforting, sweetie."

Scarlett laughed, feeling her mother's affection. "Yes, he is. He takes care of me and Rose in a way that makes me feel safe."

Karsten, who had been quieter, finally spoke up. "Knowing that you have that kind of training and experience gives us a sense of security. Not just because you're protecting Scarlett, but because of what it says about you as a person. Loyalty, commitment, and responsibility are rare qualities."

Scott, humble as ever, thanked her. "I value those qualities very much, especially in a relationship. For me, protecting the ones you love is not just about physical safety, but also about being there emotionally."

This answer seemed to resonate with Scarlett's family, and the mood lightened even more. Dinner continued with lively conversations about Scott's experiences in the military, although he avoided going into too much detail about his deployments, keeping a low profile.

To Scarlett's surprise, her family was fascinated by Scott's stories and how well he seemed to fit into her life. After dinner, as everyone enjoyed a final glass of wine in the living room, Hunter approached Scarlett and spoke softly.

"I like him, Scarlett. He has that attitude of someone who has seen a lot, but at the same time, he seems like someone who will always be there for you. I think you found a good guy."

Scarlett smiled, relieved. "Thank you, Hunter. That means a lot to me."

Shortly after, his parents also approached Scott for a warm goodbye. Melanie, always affectionate, gave him a hug. "We're glad you're with Scarlett. You'll always be welcome in our family."

Karsten, though more formal, shook Scott's hand again and added, "Take good care of them. You have our respect."

When the evening finally ended and Scarlett closed the door behind her parents and brother, she turned to Scott with a smile. "I think they liked you."

Scott pulled her into a hug, kissing her forehead. "I'm glad you do. Your family is important to you, so they're important to me, too."

As they turned off the lights in the house and settled in for the night, Scarlett felt immensely grateful to have Scott in her life someone who not only made her feel loved and protected, but who had also earned the respect and affection of her family.

Chapter 18

Scarlett found herself more nervous than she had expected. She had met many influential people throughout her career, but meeting Scott's sisters and mother, who were part of the famous Kardashian Jenner clan, brought a different kind of anxiety.

Scott had invited her to Kendall's house for lunch, where they were planning to bring the whole family together. Scarlett would meet all of his sisters, Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall, Kylie, as well as his mother, Kris Jenner. What made the situation more delicate was that Scarlett would also bring Rose, her daughter, to this gathering.

"Are you sure they'll like me?" Scarlett asked Scott as she got ready. She tried to look calm, but her eyes betrayed her nervousness.

Scott smiled, approaching her and placing his hands on her shoulders. "They'll love you. And Rose too. My sisters can be intense, but deep down, they're warm and super protective of the ones I love. Just be yourself."

Scarlett took a deep breath, trying to relax. She knew Scott wasn't worried, so she tried to follow his lead. "I just don't want it to be awkward or embarrassing, you know?"

"It won't be," he replied confidently, kissing her lightly on the lips. "Besides, Rose will steal their hearts in five minutes, I'm sure."

When they arrived at Kendall's house, Scarlett could see that the mansion was impressive, but also had a warm, homey feel. Scott opened the door for her and Rose, and the three of them walked in. They were soon greeted by Kris Jenner, who was waiting at the door.

"Scott!" Kris exclaimed with a big smile, hugging her eldest son affectionately. "I'm so glad you brought your girlfriend and Rose to meet us."

Kris then turned to Scarlett and Rose, smiling warmly. "You must be Scarlett and Rose. I'm Kris, and I'm so excited to meet you."

Scarlett smiled, already feeling a little more at ease with Kris's warm welcome. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kris. Thank you for having us."

Soon the sisters began to appear. Kendall, the hostess, was the first to greet Scarlett. "Hi, Scarlett! Finally meeting you in person," she said with a sincere smile, extending her hand. "Scott talks about you so much."

Kendall then bent down to speak to Rose, who was a little shy. "Hi, Rose! My name is Kendall. Do you want to come with me to see our dogs?"

Rose looked at Scarlett, who nodded, and then followed Kendall out into the garden, already starting to feel at ease.

Meanwhile, Scarlett was led into the living room, where the rest of the Kardashian Jenner family was waiting for her. Kim was the first to speak, as always.

"So, you're Scarlett," she said with a smile. "Finally meeting the woman who won our brother over."

Scarlett laughed, still feeling a little nervous, but Kim's tone was friendly. "Yeah, I guess I'm that person."

Kourtney and Khloé, who were sitting next to Kim, also smiled.

Khloé was the next to speak. "You seem really cool. And Scott seems happy, so you get the nod," she said with a laugh.

"I have a question," Kourtney said suddenly, with a curious look. "Did Scott tell you any of his crazy stories from the military? Or is he just quiet and mysterious?"

Scarlett smiled. "He's pretty private, but he does share stories every now and then. Nothing too detailed, though."

The sisters laughed, knowing how Scott liked to keep his time in the Delta Force a secret. The lighthearted, relaxed atmosphere helped Scarlett feel more at ease. She chatted with her sisters, answering questions about her career, her daughter, and how she and Scott met. It was a conversation filled with laughter and a bit of teasing, as was typical among the Kardashian Jenner sisters.

At one point in the conversation, Kris called Scarlett into the kitchen, where they were preparing a meal.

"How are you feeling?" Kris asked gently as she set things up.

Scarlett smiled, feeling more relaxed now. "To be honest, I was really nervous. But you all made me feel so welcome. I really appreciate it."

Kris gave her an understanding smile. "I get it. We're a big family and… well, let's just say we get a lot of media attention, so I know it can be intimidating. But just know that if Scott chose you, that's more than enough for us. He's not the type to get involved unless it's something serious."

This conversation with Kris helped Scarlett feel even more secure about her position with Scott and his family's acceptance. The afternoon continued with more laughter and stories, and Rose seemed to be having a great time in the garden with Kendall's dogs.

Later, when everyone was gathered at the dinner table, Scott looked at Scarlett with pride and relief. He knew how much this meeting meant to her and was happy to see that everything was going well.

"Are you okay?" Scott whispered to her as they served the food.

Scarlett smiled, taking his hand for a moment. "I'm more than okay. Your family is amazing. I feel lucky."

Scott smiled back, squeezing her hand. "I'm the lucky one."

Lunch ended with a toast to happiness and the new phase Scott and Scarlett were living together. As they left Kendall's house, Scarlett knew that she was now not only Scott's girlfriend, but also a part of the Kardashian Jenner family dynamic, something she had never imagined for herself, but which now felt natural and welcoming.
