Blurred Oculus

Chapter 7: Fool

As the mysterious man approached, Morgan felt a jolt of uncertainty, startled by his sudden appearance. However, he quickly composed himself, asking with a hint of caution, "Who are you? How do you know about my brother?"

The mysterious man, his eyes glinting with amusement, leaned closer, a cruel smirk playing on his lips. "It's obvious to anyone who looks at you, Morgan. Working nonstop with three jobs, yet your little brother still suffers from your lack of resources. Pathetic."

Morgan stared at the mysterious man, a wave of anger and suspicion washing over him. "How do you know anything about me or my situations?" he demanded, his fists clenching as he tried to maintain his composure. "Who are you, and what business do you have with my personal life?"

Morgan, still wary of the mysterious man's intentions, hesitated for a moment. However, his desperation overrode his hesitation, and he decided to hear him out. "Fine, what work are you talking about? And why would I trust you?" he demanded, his body tense with both curiosity and suspicion.

The mysterious man, still holding out the contract, a faint smirk playing on his lips, nodded. "Just sign this contract, and all your worries will disappear," he said with a hint of amusement, his eyes glinting mischievously. "No need to worry about anything, as long as you cooperate."

Morgan was feeling conflicted. On one hand, he knew he needed the money, but on the other, the mysterious man's knowledge of his personal life and the shady nature of the contract made him uncertain. "How do I know I can trust you?" he asked, skepticism lacing his words. "And how do you know all this about me and my brother?"

The man's smirk widened, a hint of malice in his eyes. "I have my ways of gathering information," he said, his tone enigmatic. "As for trust, all I can offer is my word that I'll fulfill my end of the deal if you fulfill yours."

The mysterious man gestured for Morgan to follow him. "Come with me, and I shall show you exactly what would be expected of you," he said, a hint of sinister amusement in his tone. "This is where the real work begins. Follow me, if you're truly serious about this opportunity." But first, Sign the papers.

Morgan hesitantly signs the papers one by one.

The mysterious man led Morgan towards his car, a sleek vehicle parked nearby. The man opened the passenger door and gestured for Morgan to get in. "Get inside," he commanded, a hint of superiority in his tone. "We have places to be."

As the car pulled up to an old and abandoned mansion, Morgan felt a knot form in his stomach. The building's eerie and abandoned appearance seemed to taunt him, and the implication of supernatural activity added to his growing unease. He had a sinking feeling that he might have made a terrible mistake by following this mysterious man.

"What are we going to do inside this shaddy place, You aren't going to do something illegal, are you? "

The mysterious man's lips curled into a sly smile as he looked at Morgan. "Nothing illegal," he lied smoothly, his words practically dripping with deception. "We're just going to do a little business inside the place, that's all. Nothing to worry about." He opened the car door and gestured for Morgan to follow him.

The mysterious man gestured for Morgan to stand before the bookshelf, his eyes glinting with anticipation. "Let's find the passage," he said with a smirk, his gaze fixed on the books. "We need to push a specific book in a sequence, and it should open the hidden passageway."

The mysterious man's tone grew serious as he spoke, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Look, I'm not in the habit of revealing secrets to every passerby," he said with an edge to his voice. "The combinations for the books are confidential, and I can't have anyone finding out about them. You'll have to trust me in this matter.

Look that way, I am now going to open the pathway."

As Morgan followed the mysterious man into the pathway, he couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that plagued him. The air was heavy with the scent of old books and an eerie stillness that seemed to suffocate any sound. He felt like he was wandering into a trap, but the thought of his brother's well-being compelled him to continue.

As the fog filled the room, Morgan felt a dizzying sensation wash over him. He tried to stay conscious, but the intoxicating fumes pulled him under. The last thing he saw was the mysterious man's eerie, ear-to-ear smile, stretching across his face in an unnatural and unsettling way. The sheer impossibility of the expression sent shivers down his spine before unconsciousness took over.

As consciousness returned to him, Morgan discovered himself trapped inside a glass tube that was slowly filling with a green, viscous liquid. The sight was both shocking and horrifying, sending a wave of panic coursing through his body. The liquid was rising, inch by excruciating inch, and Morgan knew he needed to find a way out.

The green liquid continued to rise steadily, and as it touched Morgan's skin, he was struck with a wave of excruciating pain. The liquid seemed to carry some sort of burning sensation, searing through his flesh, causing him unimaginable agony. It was a torment that seemed to defy any rational understanding, as if the very substance was designed to torture him with every agonizing moment. His mind was overwhelmed with fear and desperation, and he tried to find a way to escape from this nightmare.

Morgan was suffering from an excruciating pain. His skin, which was once smooth and unblemished, now began to bubble and melt, unable to withstand the heat of whatever substance he was immersed in.

Morgan's skin started to melt off from the intense heat, and his muscles strained to keep up, but eventually, it became impossible for them to endure the extreme temperatures. Morgan felt as if he were being boiled alive, the pain becoming unbearable.

The scientist looked at the lifeless body floating in the tube, a sense of disappointment etched upon his face. He sighed heavily, muttering under his breath, "Experiment-67, failed, as expected," his tone filled with a mix of frustration and resignation. As he spoke, the mysterious man stood beside him, wearing a twisted smile on his face, his unsettling demeanor adding to the already eerie atmosphere.

The scientist turned to the mysterious man, Kenny, and instructed in a cold tone, "Bring in another subject. We have work to do." Kenny had a twisted smile lingering on his lips, nodded and disappeared deeper into the laboratory, ready to bring another unfortunate soul to be subjected to their sinister experiment.
